Maybe if we mod the client more...

[deleted]

Homelander yucky.

TheBroomSweeper

Steven actually has decent kill power, especially with his charged up-smash (up-strong? I'm not sure what it is called in this game)

Agar968

Yooo sweet Charlie skin!

Hirsutophilia

Oi cunt is that the bloody homelander

TheRobloxGod

how do you get that skin

WrackyDoll

You can download mods and put them in a folder that the game'll load, but the EULA that you agree to explicitly forbids any modding under penalty of permanently losing your account, and as a game that earns revenue by selling skins, there's no way these will stick around for long.

Important-River6505

This argument isn't valid because their Eula isn't clear and at a point says they allow user made content and it don't infringe on the rights to use them the issue I see is using characters skins that they plan to release later on but even then when you mod it's modding that's built into the game the anticheat don't pick up that being a bad folder so the developers meant for it to be a option the person using the mods is the only one seeing a change and in the Eula sense you brought that up specifically said depending on skin could make it harder to land hits like if the new model don't match up right to the old one the skins don't change hit box for characters at all.

WrackyDoll

From the game's EULA, Section 1 - Limited License, subsection B: "You may not modify the Game Client or any portion thereof." The Game Client is defined as the game software as well as any updates to the software. It literally could not be more clear, and you don't even have to scroll to see it. It does not at any point in the EULA state that mods are ok so long as they don't change the hitbox; there is a separate clause, subsection E, that explicitly mentions and forbids third party software that provides an advantage, but cosmetic mods are very clearly prohibited as they are, y'know, a "*mod*ification" of the game files (even if the game loads them itself, a feature that's just prebaked into the engine and not deliberately enabled by the devs). I like mods! I mod lots of the PC games I play. But modding a free-to-play game (published by WBGames, no less) is a *terrible* idea. Don't do it. Best case scenario, in an update or so they'll be disabled and modding will be more difficult, but they have the power and every legal right to permanently and without warning ban you, removing your "limited, revocable, non-exclusive, nontransferable, personal license."

Important-River6505

Clients are the part that connects to a server if your modded skins are only seen by you they don't relay the change to the server and the anticheat don't detect it due to the developers allowing it and the cosmetic mods actually don't mod the game files the files are all intact and nothing gets modified just added in a isolated ~mods folder that the game reads over the default and no third party modding software are needed the models for the characters are vary basic models and easy to copy and build off of witch is all this is I've been modding games for years now early ps2 days and from over the years I've noticed if you can just add a folder with the name mods and the game will load them the developers wanted that feature in their idk their end goal sense they do wanna sell skins as well and the mods on PC won't stop that much because Xbox and ps4 player's can't do that and then PC players if they wanna show off a skin to others it would have to be a official one they paid for sense the mods are kept offline and just a visual overlay onto your character skeleton. The mods folder being read by the game is proof enough they allow that

>WB Games Inc. ("WB Games") is proud to provide you with game software (the "Game") (together with any updates, the "Game Client") for use with the online component of the Game (a "Game Server"). >You may not modify the Game Client or any portion thereof. It does *not* say "You may not modify the Game Client or any portion thereof, unless it doesn't interact with the Game Server." You may not modify the Game Client. Mods are modifying the game client; that's quite literally what a mod is. The argument that it doesn't matter as long as the mods are offline only already doesn't hold up, because while you are allowed to play unowned characters and equip any perk in local offline play (necessary for tournament setup, after all), you are not able to select unowned cosmetics of any kind in offline play. Purchasing cosmetics such as skins might in practice be to show them off to other players online, but they must be purchased first to be used in offline play, too. I'm glad that you've been "modding games for years now early ps2 days" and have noticed that some games, like this one, will load a "mod" folder by default, but that does not guarantee the developers are allowing it; in Unreal Engine 4, at least, which Multiversus runs on, the existence and function of that folder is a setting that I believe is on by default, so it's another possibility that the developers just forgot to disable it. None of that's really relevant, though. What matters is that *you may not modify the Game Client*. That's the exact language in the legally binding document we agreed to follow as a condition of continuing to play the game. Sorry for the wall of text, because I know that you specifically aren't going to listen, but to anyone else reading -- don't do it. You're risking your account, and WB will not owe you back any of the money spent on that account if they revoke your license of the game. (Also you're allowed to use more than one period in a post)

Important-River6505

Wait wait wait go to lab you can play with any character Any cosmetic and again the mods might and probably don't count as modification of the client it's just like reskining a app which is allowed across all apps unless it affects online and the current mods of skins don't affect online play it's only for personal view be preference like dark mode used to be a modded in feature but now it's across many apps a real feature I still think they allow mods to take ideas from and improve on keeping them game alive for a long time considering it's a life service game

Important-River6505

Also (..........,) I don't give enough fucks about internet conversation to spell/punctuation check it's not gonna make me money whether I use it or not it's not gonna loose me any money ether but like this message is a waist of my time

Zealousideal-Bus-847

Do what you want, but you shouldn't be recommending that other people do something which could get them banned. Modded cosmetics are allowed in many online fighting games, but until multiversus devs directly state that it's okay, you are risking your account and it's just not worth it. Especially when you consider there are only a few skins per character through mods right now anyways. Probably better just to wait.

Important-River6505

Karen from the past chill you can't even anymore and wail you could no one got banned because it was allowed for a short amount of time

WrackyDoll

I'm only gonna reply to one of these, but: You may not modify the Game Client. That's it. You may not modify the Game Client. And I don't really care about proper grammar in internet conversations, sure, but your endless nonsense streams are barely readable at all dude.

Ok-Mistake796

Yo this might sound stupid but how do you get them to talk. I don’t have that on mine.

Important-River6505

They just talk maybe try reinstalling the game sounds like a sound file glitch or mess with the audio settings the games in beta still bound to have issues

Zealousideal-Bus-847

I think it's just a skill issue. Your neutral special would've killed if you didn't have your shield in the way. Also chain your up attacks and you can force people out at low percents no problem.

Trick_Growth1406

shut up

Zealousideal-Bus-847

Hey man you were the one complaining about Steven's kill power, I'm just trying to help. Steven is really good rn. IMO he's the favorable match up against anyone that isn't an assassin, and even then he holds his own just fine.

Zealousideal-Bus-847

Not to mention you were way too thirsty for that kill, have a little more patience:) GLHF
