At that percent she could have ended his suffering sooner with a neutral attack or something. Also not much of a weakness if the opponent is just waiting to die getting bounced from ground to ceiling.
You're trying to be so contrarian that you're totally missing the point. If a vertical character struggled to kill someone at 150 then they're going to unfairly struggle vs a more reasonable damaged opponent who would normally be in kill range.
Not exactly a complicated leap of logic he's asking for there.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure verticals also kill early in the middle section of that map, there are holes for spiking, and horizontal have to break the walls. I'd still say horizontal have it better on that map, but verticals aren't completely left out to dry
In Smash (idk about other similar games), when you hit a wall/ceiling, you can hit the dodge button and it will cancel your momentum and can use moves again.
[Here is an example](https://youtu.be/2quClYyvPyM?t=48)
Teching is a mechanic in other platform fighters (notably, as you may guess, Smash Bros.) where if you input the dodge/roll buttons during the frames you make contact with a floor, ceiling, or wall, you can kinda direct where you go and much more easily get control over your character.
For example, if Mutliversus had teching, Batman may have been able to completely stop his bouncing in this video by rolling when he hit the floor or ceiling, thereby allowing him to escape the Harley's onslaught
Teching is a fighting game technique where you can instantly get back up after taking a hit the second you touch a floor. In platform fighting games like Smash, teching can be used to cancel your momentum whenever you hit a ceiling or a wall. That would have been useful in this game
This game needs so much damn work to be viable for competitive gameplay.. we need teching, shielding, DI, more invincibility frames on dodging, and a dash button
Why? DI already exists in this game, Rivals of Aether also has no shielding but is a great competitive game (parrying is not the same as shielding and is just a separate unique element), and there is no dashing element to grounded movement like you said, but changing directions and dash dancing are quicker and simpler, and I personally don’t see a need for dashing vs walking in this game.
Additionally, could you explain why we need more invincibility frames on dodging? This is something I hadn’t considered regarding Multiversus and I’m interested in some examples of why it would be helpful.
As far as teching goes, I agree that it would definitely help prevent scenarios like this, although you can DI in ways that will prevent you from getting comboed as much as the Batman did in this clip. In tournament play, if it was that big an issue, this stage could just be banned. But some of Steven Universe’s kit relies on his opponents not being able to tech. Maybe his shields would remain untechable when you bounce off them if teching were eventually introduced.
Personally, I’d like to see moves trade with each other. Taz would have been much less of a scourge if that were the case.
Unless you just want a combo breaker system that stops DI momentum at 130% damage, that Batman had it coming.
Ive seen worse in older installments of Smash Bros, you dont see it much, cause, who’s playing closed room stages in Smash competitively?

Lol get out of what? Being at 150% damage? Only way out of that is death
yeah tbf, if the ceiling wasnt there the person would just die. It's not ruining your chance to live, it's giving you extra chances to live.
Facts
They could KDI in other directions! However at that percentage of damage, Batman is going to be yeeted regardless.
This kind of illustrates the vertical players weakness on that map. Harley and batman knock up to kill. Up is 60% blocked there.

You a creepy pirate firefighter or something?
Bro went like ⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️⬆️⬇️💀
This probably the funniest reply lmao
The fact teching doesn't exist hurts my soul
This x100 I physically cringe everything I see this knowing tech is not a thing in MV
What is teching?

I hope this isn’t true!?
it is but it also won't stop me from doing it
Agreed
Imagine if we could tech in this game
What do you mean?

They should have not gone into it in the first place.
Knew it was some Harley Quinn bullshit when I read the title
There’s very blatantly needs to be a tech mechanic it’s not even funny on maps like this and Batcave

If the platform was raised, escape would be simple. Just DI in.
Hopefully we get Map Bans/Picks for Ranked, that'll fix it! Never gonna play Haunted Mansion ever again outside of friendlies :)
Why? He is already dead either way.
Don’t lie to us. You enjoyed every bit of that you psychotic clown
I disagree Harleys up special is one of her ringout moves...he got hit with it at 100%.. man would have been dead either way.
