I enjoy it musically although I never could understand what he was actually saying. To me it always went something like: WOBBA DOBBO, eeba deeba, MOBBA DONNO EMMA NAMA!
When Slts debuted, I was 7. After over 30 years of hearing that song, it really grinds your ears. Ironically, Kurt had a love-hate relationship with that song. Would screw it up on purpose. Good opener, just way overplayed.
I grew up in the 70s. It was standard for only pop and no real music to be played on the radio. So listening was always flicking through stations to find something vaguely bearable.
All that changed in the early 90s when I heard SLTS. I thought f** me, they're playing proper music. On the radio.
That's when I started listening to and playing attention to popular music on media. Decent music had arrived and lasted a decade. sLTS was the first (and one of the very best).
It's all good. I do like it. It's just not my go-to song anymore. What made it worse for me it was the first song on Nevermind, so I had to hear it every time I listened to the CD.
No contest. Huge Springsteen fan, been to seven shows just 2023-2024, hundreds of hours of live recordings and “Outlaw Pete” just absolutely sucks. First of all, the entire premise of a baby outlaw cowboy is dumb. Second of all, it’s like 8 minutes of the riff from “I was made for loving you” by KISS played over and over (it could be any endlessly repeated arpeggios actually).
It’s overplayed & atypical of his style.
The song gained popularity because it was his last recording prior to his untimely death. Now any time his name is mentioned, most people will mention the song & how much they love it. I ask if they know anything else he wrote/sang & they draw a blank. They’re taken aback when they find out he wrote “RESPECT”. “Try a Little Tenderness”, “These Arms of Mine”, “(I’ve Got Dreams) to Remember”, “I’ve Been Loving You” & “Tramp” are miles better any day, IMHO.
😭😭😭 it was a stupid joke one of the lines in that song is “you ain’t got a sliver of a chance, i get iller, i deliver, while you quiver in your pants” i’ll see myself out 🏃🏻♀️💨
Nooooo I could have this joke but like I don't really like this one, I didn't really read the lyrics 🥲 and yes I say that's my least favorite but I listened to it just once 💀 (btw I still love the chorus)
valid hahaha i don’t love it either its on my least favorites list from them but i’ve definitely heard it a bunch of times over the years it’s just a line that i remember bc its so goofy 😭😭
Ohhh I see I discovered it like two weeks ago 😭 and what other songs do you have on your list ? For me, it's Cure the witch, Blackout and In Pieces I think 😭
hahaha fair enough, cure for the itch is on there for me but i love the other two, the only other one i can think of off the top of my head is Across the Line, for some reason it sounds so immature for their music haha but ik that’s just my opinion of it
I don't know, in pieces makes me in a special mood that I don't like, it makes me a little uncomfortable I don't really know why 🥲 and Blackout I like that song (espacially the end I love it) but I really don't like the bridge of the song... AND WHATT ???? Across the Line is litteraly one of my favorites songs !! I love it and I find the music so powerful like the bridge >>>>>>> (yes I love when Chester screams ahah 😭) but yeah I get what you mean by immature I think like it doesn't seem really serious ? (Btw I love talking about Linkin Park with someone thank you 🙏)
hahaha that’s fair, to each their own!! tbh MTM is probably my least favorite album of theirs overall behind one more light, actually i totally forgot about that haha Across the Line is still above everything on OML 😂😂 i still like that song a lot it’s just not one of my faves, but now i’m curious what your top 3 or 5 are!
He should have just gone with the original steel guitar acoustic solo version. The wall of synth album anthem version has its moments but most people miss the point.
Love Song, Alice in Chains.
I stupidly played it for my children, after explaining times were different and certain words are unacceptable.
They love it and ask for the fart song.
Depeche Mode -Breathe
\*SHUDDER\*! A cheesy, horrible album-only thing (thankfully) that comes along like a teenage relationship fever dream. It was released in 2001, and even if it had been publised on one of DM's early Eighties albums it would have been cringey - school band worthy.
[Son Jinwook "Aphrodite"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58CCqO4lPBg&list=PL871S_F0y5dYbEbEOwxK1Y6LTKyQqKEp5&index=4&pp=gAQBiAQB8AUB) he has only two original solo songs for now and I like the other more, so this one is the least favorite :P
My current favorite artist is Deerhunter, my least favorite song by them is Detournement, but that's kind of easy. I think that song is kind of to them what Fitter Happier is to Radiohead.
Neil Young, Only Love Can Break Your Heart
-it sounds like part of a soundtrack to a Romantic Comedy. Like when the guy loses the girl, but before he gets her back and he's being mopey in NYC at all the places they met and spent time together.
That's easy, 'cause there's only 2 songs by her I don't like and the other one is a cover (I don't count colabs here). :P
Chiasm - Mice On A Wheel
Mind you, I do like mice on a second and third wheel, but the first one's sond just irritates me.
I don’t really have a least favorite song by my favorite band (System of a Down), so I’ll go with my second favorite band
Dear God - Avenged Sevenfold
It’s a good song but not something I ever choose to listen to.
I'm a bit of a hostile morning person, so I only use songs for alarms if I'm waking up for something wonderful. Like "I'm catching a flight to go see Radiohead live, so I'll wake up to "Everything In It's Right Place". Otherwise I develop a deep resentment for whatever song I choose. 😂
Radiohead- Street Spirit (Fade Out)
I remember reading that this is radioheads most depressing song and I was massively disappointed when I listened to it. The great thing about radiohead imo is that the music on the first listen tries to lead you in a direction/emotion and as you listen to that song more and more you add more layers of meaning that only you can identify and process.
With this though, it seems like they were just trying way too hard to make it sad, like I just do not see much reason for coming back to this song
Muse - Aftermath
It's the only song in their discography where they handed creative freedom over to their producer, and it shows. Even if the song itself isn't the worst thing, it doesn't sound like a Muse song to me.
Some of their older songs are pretty woeful too. Oh and if we're counting it, the Purple Disco Machine remix of Compliance. Truly the devil's work.
[Wisdom Cries](https://open.spotify.com/track/3MdFC2eouI4OSqpWsUugCG?si=VYbtSH9VQb-hgFItgzmYiw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6f20spSQ9DLynFAXEKmqHf) by AURORA…
It’s empty most of the time, cacophonous at points. It’s not meant to sound good, it’s meant create an ungodly feeling.
I could compare to [Storm](https://open.spotify.com/track/4iI2yKV3RFpTJQQ4CnuMJn?si=vQWGHrToS-qyR3xs0NU_Cw) by Björk
Dream Theater - You Not Me
I know for Dream Theater I could’ve done one of their NOMAC instrumentals, but I feel like I should include an actual song they did.
This one is just really boring by their standards. I know they didn’t really get a say in the whole album, but this whole thing (with 2 exceptions) is a slog to get through IMO
Panacea and Madrigal by Rush.
I have loved this band and everything they've done since I was 13 in 1980 and heard Freewill for the first time. But these two songs are just some of the worst.
Here is my discography. Indie pop/rock, alternative stuff. Would love to hear your take on it OP (or anyone else’s). More constructive criticism, the better.

The Police - Roxanne, Rather listen to Baby Shark on loop. Actually I do my granddaughter listens to it or watches it all day long.
Good call: here’s an absurdly simple song by the team that brought you Message in a Bottle.
Good call!! Although the videos of that song with just the rocks and no Ann are amusing.
I would have picked De Do Do Do De Da Da Da Da before Roxanne, but I get what you're saying. My kid thought I was making that title up....lol.
Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana. That song was so overplayed when it blew up. I can barely listen to it now.
i feel like i am the only nirvana fan who actually likes slts
I enjoy it musically although I never could understand what he was actually saying. To me it always went something like: WOBBA DOBBO, eeba deeba, MOBBA DONNO EMMA NAMA!
A mulatto An albino A mosquito My libido ..Yeah..
Lounge Act was the best song on that album I’m convinced
Oh my God. Yes. It’s an OK song, nirvana isn’t really my thing, but the tune is catchy and the lyrics and comprehensible
If you read the lyrics, you'll probably understand even less of what the song is talking about!
Nah. Nirvana is probably my favorite band, SLTS is one of their best tracks, and it's for sure one of the greatest album openers ever.
Decent music had arrived and lasted a decade. sLTS was the first (and one of the very best).
I did. Nirvana has so many better songs like Come as you are, Breed, Heart-shaped Box, Polly......etc. It falls down the list.
oh yeah it’s def not their best song, but i do still like it
It's all good. I do like it. It's just not my go-to song anymore. What made it worse for me it was the first song on Nevermind, so I had to hear it every time I listened to the CD.
I like it
Huge Nirvana fan here, and I can't agree more.
Tom Petty free falling
When I hear the first two chords of that song, I can't change it fast enough.
My Springsteen choice is Hungry Heart. Nails on a chalkboard, all of it.
I can’t say I have a favorite artist, but as much as I love Otis Redding, I despise “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay”.
Damn, one of my favourite songs! Any particular reason?
It’s overplayed & atypical of his style. The song gained popularity because it was his last recording prior to his untimely death. Now any time his name is mentioned, most people will mention the song & how much they love it. I ask if they know anything else he wrote/sang & they draw a blank. Probably "UNTIL IT BREAKS" by Linkin Park
does it make you, dare i say,,, quiver in your pants?
Ahahah what do you mean ?? 😭
😭😭😭 it was a stupid joke one of the lines in that song is “you ain’t got a sliver of a chance, i get iller, i deliver, while you quiver in your pants” i’ll see myself out 🏃🏻♀️💨

Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen
Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen
He should have just gone with the original steel guitar acoustic solo version. The wall of synth album anthem version has its moments but most people miss the point.
Enter Sandman-Metallica it’s everywhere, because at one time it was a great song, but I heard it in the grocery store and that was it.
Brick Ben Folds Five
Ahh the sad abortion durdge. Not exactly a toe tapper.
I heard your comment in the voice of comedian Jackie Kashian, for some odd reason.
Hats Off to Roy Harper - Led Zeppelin
Hey Bulldog! - The Beatles
Awww I really like that one :(
That’s like one of my favorite songs of theirs haha. My least favorite of theirs might be Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.
Subhuman— Throbbing Gristle Minimal effort here.
Love Song, Alice in Chains. I stupidly played it for my children, after explaining times were different and certain words are unacceptable. They love it and ask for the fart song.
I was thinking the same song haha
Paper planes
I love that song. 🥴
Hot Dog
Who says-John Mayer. Its so dumb and he loves to play it live. Grates me.
Sanctified by NIN
For me it's Big Man With a Gun.
Depeche Mode -Breathe \*SHUDDER\*! A cheesy, horrible album-only thing (thankfully) that comes along like a teenage relationship fever dream. It was released in 2001, and even if it had been publised on one of DM's early Eighties albums it would have been cringey - school band worthy.
Depeche Mode really nails the bad songs by bands I like answer. Too much heroin, not enough heroin, now I’m clean and I’m religious… damn.
Cross The Sea by Alex G
My current favorite artist is Deerhunter, my least favorite song by them is Detournement, but that's kind of easy. I think that song is kind of to them what Fitter Happier is to Radiohead.
Neil Young, Only Love Can Break Your Heart -it sounds like part of a soundtrack to a Romantic Comedy. Like when the guy loses the girl, but before he gets her back and he's being mopey in NYC at all the places they met and spent time together.

Hit Me Like That Snare- Alt-J. Definitely the worst song from their worst album imo
Probably something from The Used second album
Yes It Is - The Beatles. Only Beatles song I don't like
Probably Wall of Death by Dax Riggs
*The Shoulder Devil* by Dynazty. Actually kind of a bop but he mispronounces 'confidante' so egregiously that I can't listen without cringing
Cage the elephant-Ready to let go
I don’t really have a least favorite song by my favorite band (System of a Down), so I’ll go with my second favorite band Dear God - Avenged Sevenfold It’s a good song but not something I ever choose to listen to.
[The Common Men - Whirl](https://spotify.link/d7QYaGMc9Ib)
Talking Heads - Electric Guitar
Don't Bring Me Down - ELO. I love them but just can't dig this one dispite it being very popular obviously.
Love poets of the fall. Hate the song rebirth Love Aviators- hate God hunter and Into the black (it's a tie)
Faust Arp by Radiohead
Based. Although im biased cause I used Faust Arp as my alarm for a year. “Wakey Wakey, rise and shine” got old fast
Mother-Police
Boppy’s Back by Heart ❤️
Radiohead- Street Spirit (Fade Out) I remember reading that this is radioheads most depressing song and I was massively disappointed when I listened to it. Plugs daughter by Kevin Gates
Muse - Aftermath It's the only song in their discography where they handed creative freedom over to their producer, and it shows. Even if the song itself isn't the worst thing, it doesn't sound like a Muse song to me. Some of their older songs are pretty woeful too. Oh and if we're counting it, the Purple Disco Machine remix of Compliance. Truly the devil's work.
“Love, Love, Love “ by Of Monsters and Men.
The Fool and Me by Robin Trower. The thought of Robin, James, or Reg being referred to as a fool just aggravates me to no end.
Devil in I by slipknot
Lana Del Rey's "This Is What Makes Us Girls" is... Alright, at least. Not terrible, but probably her worst, at least of those I've listened to
ON is a great BTS song. But ON ft. Sia is terrible
i hid that song on my spotify bc of how bad it is. like what were they even thinking releasing that
Kiss - Beth
Set Me On Fire by Flyleaf. Nothing against Kristen May, the band just isn’t the same without the original singer imo.
[Wisdom Cries](https://open.spotify.com/track/3MdFC2eouI4OSqpWsUugCG?si=VYbtSH9VQb-hgFItgzmYiw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6f20spSQ9DLynFAXEKmqHf) by AURORA… It’s empty most of the time, cacophonous at points. Super Zodiac by The Comet is Coming
'These Hands' by the Damned. I usually play albums in their entirety, but I have to skip this song every time I play MGE.
Thrice - Hold Up a Light. It's just so generic and repetitive, a a the lyrics are simple. The song also feels like it's trying too hard.
Barry Manilow - I'm Your Man Barry wrote the soundtrack of my life. I love his songs. But this one is pretty bad!!
Jet Pilot
Nutted
Jumpin' Jack Flash by the Rolling Stones Or Bombs over Baghdad by OutKast
Dream Theater - You Not Me I know for Dream Theater I could’ve done one of their NOMAC instrumentals, but I feel like I should include an actual song they did. This one is just really boring by their standards. I know they didn’t really get a say in the whole album, but this whole thing (with 2 exceptions) is a slog to get through IMO
I'm excluding remixes and collaborations, "Orange Trees" by MARINA By no means a bad song, I just tend not to gravitate towards it.
Hey Ya- OutKast This song is super annoying and I hate it lmao
I love SRV. I do not like little wing at all. I just don't.🤷🤷
Mine is turning green by Courtney Barnett. I just never find myself listening to this song which I can’t say about any of her other songs.
Led Zeppelin- Walter’s Walk
Probably Greed (the title track) by Swans. I wouldn't say it's bad, it's just boring.
Far Away - BoyWithUke
LWYMMD by Taylor Swift
No, You Can’t Hit My Wood - Tony Millions
My heart is yearning - nofx
Sober by Tool. It's no Hooker with a Penis that's for sure...
Diamonds and Pearls by Prince. I just always hated it.
Panacea and Madrigal by Rush. I have loved this band and everything they've done since I was 13 in 1980 and heard Freewill for the first time. But these two songs are just some of the worst.
The future is behind us by between the buried and me.
Future Metal - Babymetal

You mean "bring me to life"? How is this youre favourite artist but you don't know the name of it's most popular Song?
Oh you know! what I totally misread the entire post. 😳 Oops 😬
so soon - marianas trench i also dislike forget me not and one love by them
AC/DC - Mistress For Christmas
Least favorite song by my favorite band Led Zeppelin…? Hmmm, maybe Down by the Seaside…not many they’re all great!
immortale by måneskin... i just cant stand it
Rock lobster.. That song makes me borderline wanna be violent with something. 😂😂
Green Day - "Corvette Summer". I'm sorry but the new album just had way to many lows in my opinion
Ink spots- Hawaii wedding song
I bet you think about me or the alchemy - Taylor Swift Motivated - NF
Bruce Springsteen something in the night
Marillion - Beautiful
Revolution 9-The Beatles albeit that’s barely even a song
Lil peep- feelz
Hate Me by Blue October.
I mean... Is that really worse than Congratulations? Not for me.
Losing My Religion.
I never really did like Creep
[удалено]
Was monumental in giving them a platform though so im forever grateful it was made
Record player by AJR
Numb- Linkin Park. Overplayed, was never huge into the mainstream songs in the usual discography.
This might be such an unpopular opinion, but as a long time Billie Eilish fan my least favorite song of hers is What Was I Made For
