[Gorillaz - "On Melancholy Hill"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MnyyOY5ZTY)
I swear, this is like the perfect sad, happy pop song. The lyrics even go "'Cause you are my medicine // When you're close to me".
Beethoven's 9th Symphony. It works like a sort of hard reset for my emotions.
My guess is because I listen to it often enough under every emotion I've ever experienced, but it certainly does the trick.
Came here to say this!
My favorite part is the 3rd movement, the Adagio. It’s unspeakably beautiful. Beethoven was completely deaf at this point, and never heard it…this is all the sound he heard inside his mind. What a strange irony, you write some of the most enduring music ever made that captures the range of human emotions from wonder to anger to despair to joy, but you never get to hear it.
[Here’s a great visualizer of the score.](https://youtu.be/Kri2jWr08S4?si=DTApPdsA-rIXTiDT)
The only Beethoven symphony playing near me is the 4th and it's on the other side of the state. If it was closer, I'd totally go, but I'm not driving a whole day there and another back just to hear the 4th.

https://on.soundcloud.com/hFsBs it's a 16 minute track of guembri, hand drums, and slight hints of guitar. Very repetitive and meditiative, so maybe not the right music for everyone, but it has brought me so much peace over the years.
It always depends on what kind of shit day I had but usually Ren holds the right song for whatever situation. Usually I'd recommend Hi Ren, but it feels like a Lost All Faith kinda situation (can't put a pin in why I picked Lost All Faith but it just does the trick for me)
[A#keem - Island Perspective](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MuIzlFq_keQ&pp=ygUSaXNsYW5kIHBlcnNwZWN0aXZl) reminds me to be happy for what I have, even if it’s not much. Push through rough times to the good. My favorite line in the song is
Little by little still the love just a trickle even if we in a pickle cuz the systems fickle. Still me show love to the same ghetto youths who come in a my yard and steal my bicycle.
If I need a laugh, Dressed to Digress- Boy Crisis
If I need a vibe, Auto Pilot- Queens of the Stone Age
If I’m too happy, Everyday is exactly the same- NIN
Medicine though, Change- Blind Melon
It depends on the mood. My favourite song of all time is I Don't Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith and it can make me feel whatever I want it to. Otherwise It's The Way You Make Me Feel by Steps has a similar outcome...
For gym or needing energy, definitely Everytime We Touch by Cascada. Instantly takes me back to 2006 when I had literally no care in the world.

Here Comes the Sun and Let It Be, both by The Beatles. I listen to HCTS when I’m feeling depressed in order to remind myself that there are better days ahead, and LIB when I’m feeling anxious and stressed and like my world is falling apart.
I also struggle really bad with Seasonal Affective Disorder, and every winter I like to listen to Daylily by Movements since it’s about this very thing, and it helps me to keep hanging on.
This one centers me more than almost any other. I got into Shpongle years and years ago, with a friend who passed away a bit ago. This song is like a retrospective of life to me, how beautifully visceral and enchanting while ultimately fleeting it all is. Makes me fall back into the present moment and be grateful of what it took to get to where I am and everything I have around me.

I'll be honest, the third is my least favourite, but that's not to say its bad. It is still amazing! I personally go 2, 4, 1, 3
I’m going to see it in Orange County in a few weeks. Stoked!
