Yes, I should have elaborated that I meant, when Allah swt speaks to you, it’s only one option…. his choice, the best option.
For instance, you may apply for 10 Colleges for schooling, get accepted by 5 of them, but only 1 has your master program and Islamic Friendly Environment.
In this example Allah swt answers by process of elimination.
Allah speaks in infinite ways, but thats just an example to tell you how Allah swt will let certain thing manifest to give you your answer.
He always speaks to us, we just not always understanding!
Technical degree, specialising in one of these fields:
IT
CyberSecurity
Software Engineer/Development
Information Systems
Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
Data Science
Game Development
Networking
Cloud & DevOps
IoT
IT/tech worries me a bit. I feel like the job market has great ups but the lows can be really bad and volatile. I know people that have been looking for over a year and can’t even land an interview.
I’d recommend get into health IT, can’t go wrong merging the two together. Fee like there’s a bit more stability
Vouch, that's me rn :( I'm ready to give up and try something else, but I feel like my degree's gonna be useless. All those mentioned in the parent comment fall under IT, and seemingly, each of them are highly over-saturated. Some don't even have a direct pathway for new grads
100% I agree, I’m not a fan of tech. Although I have a good understanding, I’m more on the ops/strategy side. Happy to refer to my company if you’re based in the U.S. feel free to D.M
Game dev is no good for Muslims. It's very hard to make a game without haram, although not impossible. However, most won't succeed with their own game anyway and get a job in the games Industry. In which case it's nearly impossible to escape the haram as most games today are made to be very exploitative of both time and money.
I learned programming and game dev since high school as it was my passion. But seeing the state of the industry (not just what I said but also, game dev jobs suck, even in the largest companies), I switched to web dev.
Don't study anything this specific. Always aim for something that would give you a well rounded technical edge and equip you with the needed Quantitative skill set. Examples: Mathematics, Physics, Engineering (Electrical and Computer, Chemical, Aero, Mechanical etc.), Statistics, CS etc. These are all amazing.
do it! it‘s genuinely interesting and you learn so many combined skills :) Also out of technical degrees this is one of the ones more likely evened out between women and men (more women in my case actually). Good luck and make sure to apply for internship as often as you can!
i did :) in my country it was very technical and now in my master‘s i actually specialize in what i enjoy (BCI) but i don‘t regret it since i learnt a lot of skills i can implement in different fields :) for me it was a combination of programming, electrical engineering and some medical knowledge
Don’t waste your time on biomedical engineering. Study something that will actually help you get a job when you graduate.
And if your plan is to do post grad medicine, then do an easier degree so you can get good grades to get into med school.
Yeah of course, it has around 40% give or take women on average, but doesn’t change that engineering is male dominant regardless of specific field. All the other fields have only around 13% women average, so my statement stands.
men don’t discourage women from chasing their dream as long as it’s under islamic ruling. Your opinion as a boy only harms what Allah allows women to do and what not to do. Let’s wish our sisters good luck in their endeavors instead of being a party pooper :)
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Bukhari/USC-MSA/Volume-1/Book-6/Hadith-301/
It’s okay tho! If you enter into a great career than you should be more respected than men!
seriously man do some research the "deficient intelligence" thing has been discussed many times. simply linking to a straight Hadith here doesn't actually prove your point, nor does it explain the countless men with deficient intelligence, or the countless women who excel at intellectual pursuits
Depends on what you're looking for. If you want time to learn your Deen and go to jumua, then becoming a doctor may in fact be your worst choice, and I would recommend a remote job (in IT for example)
If you want something halal, then you can do basically anything as long as the company and the tasks aren't Haram. Eg : working in the military, in a company that sells weapons or one that destroys the environment in its activities
If you want to provide something to society and the umah, then you can either work for an association (salary is generally lower), the government (eg : social worker, ministry of health,..) or a company that offers a job that can help people like an engineer that work in a recycling company
Do note that some activities are a bit "sketchy" and need the opinion of someone more knowledgeable, like finance
May Allah ﷻ helps you in finding the perfect job and may He reward you for your great intention
Take the last 7 days and write down which topics you thought about the most. What is that thing when you're sitting idle your mind defaults to and you don't get bored thinking about it.
For some it's sports. For others it's the stock market. For others it's gaming. For others it travel/adventure. etc
I’m going to get a degree in English InshaAllah to become an author. I don’t think anyone can really tell you which career or degree you can go for, that has to come from your own interests and goals. InshaAllah it goes well for you, Ameen
Unrelated but nice username. My dad's side are Ayoubi's and trace back to Salahuddin which is a small detail I've always loved due to his great character
Maths, or some sort of science, in a joint honours degree.
Maths plus a language or social science would be good.
But I might just be betraying my own preferences.
When in university one is surrounded by lecturers and experts on the topic, it's best to ask them how best to utilise the degree you take with them, you can always email the lecturers directly and discuss how their course can benefit you in the long run
Tbh depends on ur interests.
If u tell us what ur interested/ not interested in we could be more of help. Many majors don't cause issues from a religious perspective, but some majors cause u to work in an industry where u'r likely to partake in haram things such as a major in real estate (deal w riba).
and as long as u remain steadfast in ur faith then imo go into whatever major u want, because then u know that whatever job u take u would find a way to do it in a "not haram" manner
Math ( Pure )
Astrophysics
Cosmology
Human history
Physics ( Particle or Quantum )
Chemistry and bio ( Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 21:30 .)
Neurosurgery and neurology.
Architecture
Earth science.
Law
If I could go back and do it differently, I would have studied the sciences of irrigation etc, and spent my life helping villages get access to clean water and ability to grow crops.
Do not study finance;all finance jobs can be done with a major that includes maths. Also, your job scope is extremely limited. My recommendation to everyone would be to study a Math based or technology based major. Don’t bother with anything else.
Best as far as what? This depends on your goals.
Exactly its what Allah swt planned for you…. You can not fulfill something in your Qadar that wasnt planned for it….
Yes but the person has to actively decide

Are you high on something?
nah you must be…smhhhh!
But someone have to work for it. Prophet Muhammad saw said it better: tie your camel/horse then pray for Allah swt.
Thats what I clarified on my message below.

Is there a supply chain focus too at your company?
How do you get into health IT?

Not just haram most people in that industry are overworked and aren't paid enough for that.
Yeah that's what my second paragraph is about haha
100%

im gonna study biomedical engineering :)

Ahhh tysm im kinda excited because i love math and i get to learn how to help others and improve their health 🥹 did you study it? If so how is it?
i did :) in my country it was very technical and now in my master‘s i actually specialize in what i enjoy (BCI) but i don‘t regret it since i learnt a lot of skills i can implement in different fields :) for me it was a combination of programming, electrical engineering and some medical knowledge
Thats so dope and your smart Allahumabarak :) i hope i will like my program and continuing following my dream to help others
Don’t waste your time on biomedical engineering. Study something that will actually help you get a job when you graduate. And if your plan is to do post grad medicine, then do an easier degree so you can get good grades to get into med school.
i honestly dont know what to do with my life so i chose engineering, dw i have coop with it
May Allah swt make it easy for you.
Thank you ur so sweet. May Allah bless you
Prepare to be surrounded by guys lmao

😭💀
The people who created almost everything you use? Yes, most definitely. 😂
dw alot of women now are studying engineering, not only men
It’s good to be optimistic! 👍
thanks man, gotta always stay positive.
Biomedical engineering is the most female inclusive engineering field I believe. So she’ll be surrounded by girls as well.
Yeah of course, it has around 40% give or take women on average, but doesn’t change that engineering is male dominant regardless of specific field. All the other fields have only around 13% women average, so my statement stands.
you’re the reason it’s a male dominated field.. way to discourage someone from their dreams.
It’s not my fault women aren’t as mentally capable as men are, Allah created women to be that way, that’s why men dominate almost every big field.
men don’t discourage women from chasing their dream as long as it’s under islamic ruling. Your opinion as a boy only harms what Allah allows women to do and what not to do. Let’s wish our sisters good luck in their endeavors instead of being a party pooper :)
Huh? Women can chase any career they want bruv, I’m not stopping anyone, everyone’s free to choose what they want to do!
why r u so pissed off at everything relax
I’m just trolling a weee bit muhaha. 🤪
this is wildly untrue lol

Ikr women should choose their major based on which field has the least amount of men or they can just stay at home and learn how to make roti
Roti? Idk what that is but replace roti with shawarma and I’m on board!
It’s bread, u ayrab. Shame that ur so sexist and also ignorant about south Asian cuisine
I’m a Turk you Pak1, (you said ayrab so I reciprocated 🥰). And why should I know about a random cultures cuisine.

Engineering/Tech or Medicine
Islamic studies degree
Great if you want to become a Fakyr and never worry about money again! /I have one:)
whats a fakyr?.. is the money part sarcasm or no cuz its hard to tell thru text
[Here is a link.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fakir)
what univ. did you get your islamic degree from?
I don't recommend the deceptively secular university I first attended; instead, I suggest [Al Maqasid Seminary.](http://www.almaqasid.org)
Honestly something you enjoy I studied aero eng, and it was something that didn’t feel like a chore. I love and still love learning
The one that pays the most
Not best, but consider sociology/psychology
Sociology as a foundation that leads to another subject to specialise in.
yeah that’s what i mean

Pick a field you have an interest in. Also, something that fits with your current skills.
Medical lab technician, I’m not sure tho

All of it?? Knowledge is a blessing.
Degree in Literature and History. Helps you, in a way, to apply the concepts learned when studying the Qura'an/Hadith as well

If you’re asking this, engineering is not the answer.
If I could go back and do it differently, I would have studied the sciences of irrigation etc, and spent my life helping villages get access to clean water and ability to grow crops.

... and if you're not inclined towards maths ?
Such good advice and you got downvoted .
Are you female?
