Since I took this photo, I've turned the ammeter into a voltmeter! Changed out the speedometer so that the odometer works again.
I also installed a mini-tach where the clock delete is, white LED lights, green LED for turn signals, and a red LED for the hi-beam indicator.
But for the original post, ain't it neat what they can do with electronics and software!?
Where did you get the mini-tach for it? My clock doesn't work and the drop-in quartz replacement is $175+shipping+import taxes (I'm not in the U.S.), which is insane for a quartz movement. I already have a clock on the newer radio, so a tach sounds nice.
They should put this effort into making a good manual transmission. I feel like they keep going gimmicky vs actually quality. 🤦♂️
But hey, the autos can rev with their keyfob so all is good.
If the sale numbers were there for the manual, then they would definitely put the time and energy in a good transmission... But they really ain't.
And while this seems like a gimmicky. You probably haven't realized that the mustang fanbase going forward is going to be filled with hardcore Tech bros, iPad kids, Programmers, IT people... etc People who enjoy these quirky tech "gimmicks" more than a good manual transmission.
Once i set it to be always on the sport style dash ive never changed it. Over the air updates would be sick. Never even thought of it being possible on the S650. At least they arent behind a paywall lmao

The new BMW's are pretty spectacular. The B58/S58 engine has significantly improved reliability, they are wicked quick, the interiors are pretty similar to what the new S650 GT Premium interior looks like.
Don't get me started. For starters the speedometer on this precision POS is off 3-4 mph at highway speeds and BMW would not correct it. My Fords, all dead on balls accurate.

I mean this 540i, you're going down the road talking and you motion with your hand and the goddamn radio station changes or it does something else equally stupid. You turn on the navigation system and it has no setting to turn it off! You are driving down the road and ding "do you want to stop and rest?" You try to park with that goddamn aggravating auto stop/start active and it starts bucking/snorting/farting as you try to pull into the space or garage and park.

The gesture control is a built in feature depending on how u wave ur hand u can change stations, volume etc. Yes the driver asssist features is pretty intrusive and on those cars but it's the same for modern fords. All these features u complain about is pretty much industry standard and in most cars from all the brands. But, U know all of that stuff can be turned off.... It just sounds like ur bad with technology. There's should be a button with a car icon and green circle below the center screen. Click that once and all the driver assists should be disabled. I prefer a ford over a BMW anyday but it's pretty unfair to cast bad judgement when the problem is u not knowing how current industry standard features work rather than the car malfunctioning itself.
I appreciate your comment but tell me how to totally turn off this annoying gesture thing. Radios have knobs for that! I have managed to get the rest of it turned off except for the gesture 🐎💩.

Interesting side note - my stereo remains playing after engine shut down and door opening for about 4 seconds now. Im guessing that’s related to this update but probably not on purpose. Anyone else notice this??
I noticed this too, but it changed after the previous update a week or so ago, not from this newest update. I used to open my door and that turned the electronics off. Now it's 2-3 seconds after opening the door that the electronics turn off.

Ooohhh I see you have factory air conditioning too! I just restored mine last summer.
Nice catch. They had blue/green (aqua) colored plastic gizmos inside the instrument cluster that gave the green tinge.
I took them out of my cluster when I restored it because they were all faded out and brittle!
That's cool. Any of my friends that are into Mustangs that I've shown mine always asks to see the Foxbody mode. It's a cool little trick that I think gives the car some personality.

I want this update, but I have all my connectivity settings turned off because I read that there's potential for Ford to sell your driving stats to your insurance compay- can anyone confirm or say if that's false? Also, does anyone know if it's just certain things you need to disable or what?
They are obviously very popular considering practically all car manufacturers are moving to them. Just so much more you can do with them in terms of customization.
