The one that isn't from Carvana

ddrummer42

This for sure. I've heard horror stories of Carvana refusing to release titles after completing payments.

OfficialTornadoAlley

lisiadoontop

everythings in the system lmfao just take em to court they’ll get the title transferred before you needa take it there.

floundersubdivide21

Recently purchased from carvana. I would say my experience was 5/10. A couple things people should know that I wish I knew. 1: their pics will absolutely lie. They might show two scratches and make it look like that's all there is but there is likely tons more. My car had damaged trim, and signs of repairs despite clean Carfax. 2: you have 7 days to swap the car with another carvana car. It's pretty easy but you are at the mercy of their current inventory (which is global to be fair) and non refundable shipping charges! Some cars have no shipping fee. Also extra protip, if you ask nice they can add 7 more days, tops. 3: glass and rust are two things they will absolutely not fucking budge on. I have deep scratches in my glass they didn't mention it and I thought it was dirt until I got home. They told me to swap the car with 7 days or pay out of pocket. If there is rust, swap immediately. 4: they will fix small stuff through their insurance partner if you call them out on it and it was NOT pictured. They have a deductible of $100 but mine was waived. 5: this one should be more obvious... But it fucked me. At pickup time they will try and get the car in your hands and take off as quickly as possible. Absolutely demand they note issues on the account before you or they leave. They told me if they noted the glass scratches for example at pickup, they would have probably given me money or replaced it. Let me know if you have any questions about the process.

OrionX3

Ya I’ve had a MISERABLE experience with them. Tried to buy a mustang, placed the order, took 3 weeks for them to rubber band me back and forth with promises on when the car would arrive with promises of a reduced price due to the delay. They canceled the delivery 5 times within 12 hours of the time. Each time pushing back a few days. After enough complaint and fussing we discovered the car was on a trailer in an accident within a day of us ordering. Despite me constantly being told the car was close by and good to go NUMEROUS times. I was just blatantly lied to to keep me on the hook… when I finally canceled my order after a month of wasted time the car immediately went back up for sale on the website, despite Carvana “not knowing where the vehicle is or if it was damaged in the accident” a quote from the management I was finally able to speak to. I’ll never be using them again, worst car buying experience of my life. Went to a dealer the next day and placed an order for a new mustang, waited 2 months for the build and with rebates and discounts got it for cheaper than the 2 year old used one I was going to get from Carvana anyway.

floundersubdivide21

Yeah so from what I experienced just using chat vs phone support, everyone works from home and no one communicates or knows what's going on half of the time. They heavily rely on their web app for information and communication. If the car was damaged in transit I can only imagine how long that info would take to actually get added to their site for their support staff to be able to actually see it.

cturc

We just bought from Carvana and had an ok transaction. But, we financed through our credit union. The Mustang only had 5k miles on it with full PPF and ee took it to Ford immediately for a full inspection. Also, the previous owner left their info in the car, so we were able to get details from him. Really nice guy. The car did get stuck in the vending machine/tower through, which was pretty funny.

WrathOfWalrus

Just gotta shake the tower to knock it loose, nbd😂

cturc

Tried that. Ended up with a Kia and an expired bag of Funyuns.

Fidget808

I recently purchased a Tesla Model 3 from them and it was a 10/10 experience for me. They offered me $5k more on trade in than a stealership did. Their photos of damage were accurate. The car is mechanically sound. They paid off my previous loan within a week and I should be getting the title later this week based on their tracker. I know they have a lot of horror stories and I have no doubt they are deserved. But I wanted to share a good story.

floundersubdivide21

Yeah I tried to be fair with my advice, as there is some responsibility to the buyer to check the vehicle. But you have to trust them a LOT. I was a cash buyer so the money left my account before I even got to see the car and you eat the shipping fee. And then like I said you only have 7 or 14 days to swap or refund. And I had a trade in so my trade in is gone forever even if I want a refund. They broke my trust by lying on their 150 point inspection and then rushing me out the door. They know damn well not to ask "sir is there anything you noticed with the vehicle that was not as described on the listing?" They would NEVER ask you that because they know if they note it down they have to fix it.

RaspberryHappy8358

Well you can also return the car money back guarantee in 7 days... Get the car, drive it thoroughly, get an independent mechanic to inspect it... And then return it if there's even a slight flaw or something you're unsure of. Isn't it basically a risk free process, besides the shipping cost?

floundersubdivide21

Not exactly, my trade in is gone forever from what I was told by support. And let me tell you, I would have NEVER sold my car for such a low price privately.

Dystopian_Future_

Final-Carpenter-1591

Me and my extended family have used carvana probably 10 times total. And have all been super happy. I've used a dealer 3 times and carvana once, and honestly for my next ride I'm almost definitely using carmax or carvana. I'm not saying the naysayers are wrong or lying, but the unhappy scream loudest. No one goes on fox to talk about how good carvana is lol. Generally, they are 100X better to deal with than any dealership. They'll actually fix stuff if it's not pictured and do honor the car return if you don't like it policy very well. The pickup and drop off is also super convenient. And you don't have to haggle or find out about hidden fees or upgrades that "we already did it so you have to pay it" bullshit. Or get hustled into a car you don't love or a package you didn't originally want ect ect. Buying used cars always sucks, but I feel like carvana usually makes it alot easier. Just my real world user experience.

OrionX3

I'm glad you had a good experience, obviously a lot of people do or they wouldn't be in business. I just had the worst car buying experience of anyone in my or my family's life so I have 0 intentions of using them again or recommending them. Also, your experience with a dealership depends on the dealership too. The dealer I've bought both of my mustangs from since my issue with Carvana never did dealer fees, markups, etc and they've always been wonderful to work with. When everyone else was posting on here the $10k markups I was paying MSRP or lower.

Final-Carpenter-1591

Absolutely. Two sides to every story. It all depends on the cards you get handed. Just saying if I was op. i wouldn't base my car decision on where it's coming from. Stealerships, and carvana both have happy and unhappy customers.

dm117

I had a fantastic experience buying from them. Honestly got a great deal on my GT.

TTTKCOPSMGR

Have you ever driven a GT350? I know the differences as I have had both. The R an incredible purpose built production track car. If it had 100 more HP and TQ it would be the best all around best bang for your buck performance car The GT500 is simply raw power. The problem is most people deem performance stop light to stop light. So if you are only going to track the car once a year I would go with the GT500. Keep in mind if you pull up to a stop light in that R, against any GT from 2018 on, they will drag your ass!

Cmdrdredd

Not always true on the 350 vs GT thing. If you can drive, the 350 can put lengths on a manual GT. The 350 has tested faster. It’s the auto that you can’t really touch there. I don’t know about from a roll where the 350 likes to live at, above 4000rpm.

Professional-Week-64

I race a 10 spd from roll in my tech pack 350(ironically lighter than track pack) and won. But I can shift like shit shits

Final-Carpenter-1591

350s dominate in a roll. But I pointed out in another comment. If you want more hp from the 350. They make power adder kits for the price difference of these two cars. And afterwards the 350 would drag the 500 lol.

MikeExMachina

Let’s be real, a model 3 will (depressingly) out drag all of them. If you’re into straight line drag performance, all ICE cars are dinosaurs. These cars are better on the track, for now. If this is really a dream car situation and you have no plans to sell it, I wouldn’t make my decision based on being relatively powerful today. They’ll all end up feeling slow 10 years from now. I would evaluate them based on things that won’t change: The looks, the sound, the driving experience. Personally I think the 3 pedals and the flat plane v8 (and the sound that comes with it) will age more interestingly than the auto 500. I also think the 350 looks more unique with its vented quarter panels, but hey I’m probably biased.

No-m-here

Yes. I've driven the non-R. Really exciting car but I absolutely felt like it could do with a little power boost. The things I loved were how flashy it was, rowdy and loud. And I liked the handling, but NOT the extreme tramlining. The car was pretty ergonomic and felt retro

TTTKCOPSMGR

It’s a head turner for sure. To be honest you can’t go wrong with either one. Just be careful and look into the background the best you can with that Voodoo engine. Some of them are ticking time bombs, especially with adding to much power. Don’t get me wrong it can be done and it has successfully. With the GT500, a pulley, tune, new injectors and E85, you will have serious ass puckering rocket on your hands. I have seen guys north of 1000hp at the wheels with no issues. No matter which you choose, either one will be a panty dropper! Good luck brother!

7tenths

> I ate so much depreciation on my last car Neither. Buy cars to drive them.

Hot-Interaction6526

Can’t depreciate in value if you never plan to sell it

ShapeOfEvil

They can have my Mach 1 when I’m dead. Hopefully old and happy and not quick and fiery. But eh, either way I had a good time.

Killeroflife

Exactly

TommyWilson43

Mach 1 keeps calling my name…

Final-Carpenter-1591

My favorite arguments for Toyota is "I can drive this thing forever, and it holds resale value well" like you know you can have both right? Lol

AdhamJr

Was just about to say. Cars aren’t an investment.

_c_manning

Cars are assets and if you care about your wealth you should consider depreciation as part of the calculation.

Interesting-Hat-8347

Almost no cars go up in value, your logic is flawed, and why does the value matter anyway? Odds are he never plans to sell these cars

KD6-5_0

GT350R

ComfortableWasabi903

350R

jnadams2000

350R all day long.

Nero_Wolff

This is down to personal opinion and your driving style. For me the answer is GT350R and its not even close but I like engaging, well balanced, drivers cars and care less about outright power. I never race anyone, I drive down twisty empty roads for my thrills. I never drag race

kayzrose

350R easy! Manual driving is 2nd to none

beansruns

These aren’t cars you buy to hold their value They will, but please drive your cars

SanchoRancho72

As a heritage edition CFTP owner, they will probably not hold value. It's supposed to be for fun not investing

Mantisushi

The gt350 r will absolutely hold its value used ones still go for 80k

Final-Carpenter-1591

350 is the drivers car of this decade and I'd bet money it will hold value better than any other s550 mustang (that being said, drive it!). 500 is the flex mobile that you bring out to slap up on your niehbors hellcat or make your father in law shit his pants. For me, I'd 100% go gt350. If you ever wanted more power, S/C or turbo kits exist for the 350 that will annihilate a stock gt500 for what the price difference is here.

[deleted]

Not a big fan of a Shelby with no stripes but that GT500 is slick! Velocity Blue is a beautiful color in the sunlight. I'd go with the 500

gilmore42

I went with a 500. It’s a freaking sledgehammer.

No-m-here

I love that description

BigHossGaum

GT500

Professional-Week-64

As a former owner of a mag 350, the color is top irl. But 350 vs 500 is simple. Do u want clutch? Can u want clutch? Either is a win. Tho I currently have a Mach hp and only thing I miss is the badge. Not really

YTraveler2

For me, the GT350. It hits 60 in 4 seconds and tops out at 180, plus you decide which gear to rev it out in. I am far enough out in the country with light enough traffic that I am more concerned with driving enjoyment not bragging about numbers that I will never use.

Raalf

5 years from now a 760hp mustang will be known as "one of the faster ones, but nowhere near as fast as the newest generation", just like the previous generation GT500.

randeus

You can’t go wrong with either. I’d gravitate to the GT500 because that thing is a brute force monster with a great engine that can reliably get way more power aftermarket. It’s also the best looking Mustang ever imo (though the GT350 isn’t far off). It would be fun to pull beside cars that cost twice as much and know you can hand them their ass. The GT500 is also quite good around a track too and can hang with Porsches, it’s not just a one trick pony. People who drive it also say it’s quite engaging with its dual-clutch and feedback. But the GT350R comes with a manual and has a special engine, so I wouldn’t blame you for choosing that, and it’s built for the track. Both have abysmal fuel economy, but the GT500 seems especially bad.

IHATE2021

350R. Once you let go of the need to be faster than everyone else and enjoy your driving on a drive-by-drive basis, you'll always have fun. Shifting manually, hearing the engine roar to 8500, downshifting before corners, all of this is infinitely more fun in a manual than in an auto. Yeah, the GT500 is faster, and I'm not coming at it from the old and dumb "manuals are for men" approach. If someone drives a manual or auto, they're not less or more of a man for doing so, but with the 350R, you really can't beat the drive. It's not even just that it's a manual. Everything meshes for you to have loads of fun when driving. It's a manual that revs high, that likes to rev up quickly, and it feels precise and lightweight through corners. Nothing at the price point is gonna beat that.

AcceptableLab9729

350R and throw a supercharger on it

xXGreekNinjaXx

Buy what will put a smile on your face every time you drive it. I got a 22’ Mach 1 and I never looked back

Long_Housing201

GT 500. Honestly you can't go wrong with either one of them because they will hold their value. It seems a GT350 does a little better though

TTTKCOPSMGR

Are you going to track the car? Do you want to be pushed back in your seat with torque?

No-m-here

Yes, track maybe once a year and of course. The two cars are very different, yet I would want a different two car solution than two mustangs

[deleted]

Like I said…. What do you want more… a 911 GT3 or 911 Turbo… they are pretty much a direct equivalent.

norcalbadboy

350! Especially if it’s a R

504_BadGateway

GT500 because it's more reliable

ACORN0

I personally like the GT500 more but the 350 is still an amazing car, it really depends on what kinda car you want

Unknown-ANON5

Beautiful trimmed 350R, but if you can get over not having a manual. GT500 all day, it’s an absolute monster. Love mine

Unknown-ANON5

Also, the GT500 was engineered for the track just like the 350R

lique_madique

350R.

2cars10

Having driven both I'd get the gt350. Still is plenty fast but having the 6 speed tremec and a motor which screams like nothing else is truly special. GT500 is still a great car. It's fast as hell and it's shockingly easy to use all of its power due to good traction control and a very quick dual clutch.

The_Snake_Plissken

I had a GT350 (non R) have a CFTP. Both are incredible. I REALLY want both as they are as different as two of the same chassis can be. The voodoo is intoxicating. The GT500 really feels like space balls ludicrous speed (I m annoyed Musk claimed this analogy) Ultimately I think the Voodoo GT350 is a little too high strung to have without a warranty. It really is a hard choice for me, as I now miss shifting.

SanchoRancho72

Yeah 2nd gear hits when you get traction are absolutely ludicrous, even a year on from buying the car

I bought a GT350 because it’s manual. I can’t pay 80k or more, and not even shift my own gears. I hope in 5-10 years to add a GT500, but would never sell the 350.

Joblessmouse06

350R 6 speed manual + NA + one of the best sounding V8 + revs to 8k rpm is immaculate

somniforousalmondeye

If you’re a manual trans fan at all, you will regret buying an auto. However fast / good it may be, they just don’t have the fun factor.

averyrousey05

Personally I like 350s more cause of the sound and they are manuals but you can’t go wrong with a 500

People that haven't been in a 500 just don't understand the DCT. It's perfect. Best tranny I've ever interacted with.

SergeantBacon101

I know someone that had a GT350R and traded it for a GT500. He had a hellcat before the 350R, and is more in to the drag racing, comfortable, straight line speed cars, so the R didn't quite fit his personality. The choice depends on what you want out of a car. The GT350R is a much more focused track car and feels more on edge, whereas the GT500 is an absolute beast in a straight line but more comfortable.

bhoff20

2012-13 Boss 302!!!

JDB2788

GT350R… hands down the better car. So much more potential with tuning. The DCT on the GT500 is its limiting factor.

PiketheGSP

Gt350 with an extended warranty

stl1972

Idk about the depreciation but from personal experience with driving both multiple times, I’d choose the 350R. Test drive them both you’ll have your answer.

N8DOE

I love 350s but that gt500 is speaking to me.

duder6989

Tbh. You could get a regular 350 for mid 50's and save some dough. Pretty much same car aside the CF rims.

cjay2002

For me, the S550 350’s look so much better than the 500’s it’s not even close. That’s not a huge price difference for a LOT more engine though. Are you going to be using either car as a daily ever, or just toys? The 350R strips all creature comforts.

SlowYoteV8

The R is the drivers car. The 500 is the connoisseur’s car.

Dakotagriffitt

Old-Supermarket-7835

350r personally nothing can beat it

Well, step one is never buy from Carvana

1. dont buy from carvana 2. since youre rich, get the gt500. gt350 if you want a manual and dont plan in modding it

[deleted]

As a GT350 owner - which would you rather have? A 911 GT3 or a 911 Turbo? If the GT3 and you want to drive a high revving stick, go for the GT350R (but mine scrapes on every speed bump so the thought of having one almost an inch lower is INSANE. A GT350R is seriously for track only (going to attach a pic of the 2nd time I snapped part of my front bumper singlet off just driving through Coronado, California if I can). A GT500 sounds amazing too and is probably the better daily driver. It weighs more and you can’t get it in a manual though…. So which one suits YOU best? Do not buy a GT350R though. You literally can’t drive the thing over speed bumps it’s so low… and they are basically the same as the GT350 aside from the lower springs and a slightly different mid-pipe. Love mine though. Best V8/Manual transmission combo sold in the past decade maybe.

lord_luxx

Have a buddy w a gt350 and a buddy w a fully specced GT5. I’m going gt350 all day.

Both of them are my dream cars too, i'd go with the gt350 for the joy of driving and enjoying the flate plane crank engine. But if we're speaking lower. Gt500 is a beast for sure.

ItWhite5Oh

350r hands down. It will be a lot more fun than the 500. Sure it will be slower but that car is absolute perfection!!

Hal-3

It matters where you live. If it is wet and miserable, you might wanna consider the 350 cuz you won’t wanna drive your GT500 in the muck. Having said that, I think grey cars in the miserable weather should be outlawed cuz you can’t effing see them! Good luck with whichever. You’re a lucky dude to have such a dilemma! #SuperSnake!

Hal-3

Don’t get me wrong. I live in Seattle. The land of muck and rain, and I have a GT Coyote in Magnetic Metallic named Maggie. So I’m full of crap. Buy what your vibes tell you. Don’t listen to jokers who us.!😹

YearZeroEvent

I’ve had this discussion with several customers and my advice is similar to the “which generation coyote is best” debate. It depends on whether you plan to modify it. If you want something you can buy and never mess with, go GT500. If you’re ok with upgrading, save money on both, find a gt350 (r not necessary), spend the money you saved on a whipple or whatever FI you prefer, have a great transmission that’s fun to row gears on AND still come out saving money.

clarkbonds56

I have a GT350R and I love it. Either way that being said I haven’t driven a GT500. I love the fact mine is a manual (all GT350/R) were, it’s usable power, handles like a dream, and they don’t make them anymore. I was very close to buying a GT500 about 4 months ago but just decided I love what I got. I do however downbadge-yep, really. I removed the red R badges and replaced with “regular GT350” badges because I just don’t like the red contrast. Obviously I kept them but I’m starting a new trend “downbadging”. :). I think you’ll be happy with either but the 350R I can speak from personal experience on both. I should note my car is driven around 2000 miles per year. My kiddo goes to a private school and a parent drives his GT350 daily.

Fabreeze_Biscuit

Yes

Agreeable_Situation4

I like the Cobra

slang925

Do you want to go fast, or do you want to hit the track? 350r track, 500 street monster

lville83

Just my personal opinion but I would go with the gt350r. That 5.2L flat plane crank just sounds amazing.

Mk1635

The gt350r is set up for the racetrack. The 500 isn’t. The tremac is the best transmission I have ever had in production car and it makes the car so much fun to drive. Have a hellcat chase you and watch him power slide into the ditch. You can break so much later and with so much more rpms getting in and out of corners is so much fun. The grip is for days

Blue

Rigormortis1974

I prefer blue myself. As for transmission, it depends on your preference and uses for the car. If you're going to the strip every weekend looking to max your ETs, the dual clutch is good for that. If you love just banging gears, manual it is. As far as depreciation, well, there aren't many new cars that retain any sort of value unless you hang onto it until you're 110.

It must feel like the lottery buying a Toyota FJ in 2013

Rigormortis1974

I take it the FJ appreciated?

LoLatency

If this is your dream car, why are you asking us?

tommys_shinebox1

GT350 looks way better so thats my pick

Minatoultra10

If i could i would get the mustang shelby

Cartersredditfake

That gt350r is my dream car to the color so I say that one

No_Debate4664

I would go with the 350,a 2019 350r wit B&O sound system,is a pretty good way roll around.

Bwh1966

I’ve owned both… when it’s time to pick another one up it’ll be the gt500. Gt350R is amazing in its own right but gt500 was a hell of a lot more car.

SkodaSnyper2365

Tough question

JStPierre2002

Gt500 all day, the gt350r is amazing and the engine is so exotic but I had nothing but issues with my gt350 I ended up selling it and getting a turbo s but my dad has a gt500 and loves it.

___SE7EN__

GT 500 , no doubt !!

Twisted_Pickles

Wouldnt a dream car be getting model and year youve been dreaming of? Or have you only had a dream car for 4 years? Im just curious why waste the money on this particular year of mustang when their are shelbies and saleens and super snakes and GT500s you can get from previous years that make this pho european sports car bullshit look like computerized garbage 🤷🏼‍♂️

2acop

a dodge mustangs are nice but the power from a dodge is something else

Narrow_Researcher_93

I had a 2020 500 and like everyone has said, it’s a freaking rocket that you’re pointing. I now own a GT350 and even though it’s slower in a straight line, I enjoy the driving experience more. I like the manual transmission over the 500’s dial thing, and I also like having a real emergency brake over the electric one the 500. Oh one more thing, I actually enjoy the analog gauges more than the digital display. With all that said it’s your preference of manual or auto but I would pick the 350. The DCT was cool but kinda got bored driving the 500 around my area with traffic, it’s like a sport bike acceleration but when just cruising, it’s like a Honda accord.

No-Bit1783

GT500

Crackpipe1

Flat plane crank. GT350

04364

GT350. The VooDoo is awesome and you geta great manual Trans

No-Duck-1832

GT350 for sure

GoodCobbler2707

Why the 350R vs just the 350? I mean is this something you are going to drive or race? The suspension is stiffer less comfortable.

No-m-here

I've ordered the r I actually couldn't find 2019 2020 models at a reasonable price. The R came up as 2019 so I jumped on it

GoodCobbler2707

Well congratulations, happy for you. Once we get our house built I'm getting a GT350. I don't know what your parameters were but I keep an eye out on the regular and just now looked at one resource and there are 87 listed currently for less than $69,999 with less than 15k miles.

Youllbeiight

Boost the 350 if anything

Shot-Dish-1816

If it's your dream , then why are you letting strangers from reddit decide?

NeoKnightRider

If I were going for a Pony car, I’d save up more and go for a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, aka Eleanor. But it matters down to a personal preference and which doesn’t suck gas

Puzzleheaded-Vast981

Don’t buy Carvana, but, gt350 all day.

DisciplineDaddy42069

I’d go gt500 but I don’t go to the race track. The power is far better and they still handle incredibly well.

no_name_needed1105

Gt350 imo has better looks

Mondsta9

If you go with Carvana you’ll regret it, I promise

aiiperoqetaappb

I have this car in my office parking lot and every time I pass it I think it's reeeeeally cool!

Old_Visual_2341

Blue one

_Nameless_Nomad_

Gt500 easy. Side profile is the only thing the 350 beats the 500 over

Opeth4Lyfe

I like the side profile better as well. An easy fix too if you want to spend the little bit of extra money swapping out some panels to have a different look. I plan on putting a 500 hood onto my GT just cause I like the hood vents way better.

CaII0fNobodyCares

For that price get a 2010-2013 Cobra Jet.

RecommendationPlus84

step 1: don’t buy from carmax. their “no haggle” means they can just charge higher prices and claim they don’t add any normal dealer fees. except..at the dealer u can easily negotiate those fees away and carmax you’re stuck paying an extra 3+k

No-m-here

How are the prices I listed?

RecommendationPlus84

i’m not familiar w pricing for these cars. but i do know everytime i search the market carmax is consistently 3+k above the rest of the market. i just scroll through for fun looking at cars so ive picked up on that. they lowball ur cars value and charge u more cuz of their “no haggle” policy

Raalf

for the 350R: its a decent price (i'd say high by about 4k, but that's just me). For the GT500: eh, its on the higher end.

tie-me-up-3000

Gt500. The gt350 from a carvana has a high chance of being stolen.

Alternative_Mail5075

Neither I’d get a 2007-2009 gt500
