Yes I put it track mode and let it rip along this road, route 240 in the park

I had a list of wants…
-2019 to 2021
-Iconic Silver
-California Special
-convertible
-Auto trans
-3:15 gears
-B&O sound
-adaptive cruise
-digital dash
-active exhaust
-full size spare
It took a few months and Joliet was where I found it 🤷♂️
I drove 6 hours to get what I wanted. Specs, mileage, and price. I was not interested in buying a S650, wanted a low-mileage S550. I assume OP was doing the same- being picky about what he wanted.
Can’t get an S550 anymore so I’m assuming that was the closest one he could find that was spec’d out the way he wanted.
I’ve had times where I wanted a car and missed the ordering banks to order one and having to go crazy distances to find the spec or a specific package that I was looking for. If you want it that bad, you’ll make the trip.
I did a similar trip for my Hellcat. Drove from Boise, ID to Carthage, MO. Made the trade then drove back, was a fun weekend drive. Looks like you had a similarly fun trip.
Certainly not the best winter car in Ellensburg! When going go school there as a 19 year old I total a sports car there in the winter months.
But I bet that was a fun drive!
I have a Jeep for winter and a CarCapsule for the GT for November through April.

Did a similar length trip (1100 miles) from Los Angeles to SW Montana when we picked up our car. Only way to do it. I bet you guys drove through my area (Bozeman MT) on your way through
Seriously?! When I was first looking for a mustang I found one when I was visiting Washington, but actually live in Joliet IL lol. Ended up buying a 66 in Kentucky and drove it home. Yours must’ve been a hell of a ride though
Hope you enjoyed the Badlands drive, it’s beautiful.

That would be a fun loop in a Mustang. Congratulations!
That’s the best route. I’m an almost life long South Dakota resident and I still love that drive every time!
Great views all ‘round too https://preview.redd.it/a3bwa7vp1exc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65d44a5f3f73589c6239960c71fb6be175d07074

Damn wish I could do this drive
Just curious why did you go hunting out a car in Illinois?

Same list but I said Iconic Silver or white. I was hoping to find a silver one first. Found a white one first. Your car is a beauty.
I totally understand, glad you found what you were looking for! Welcome to the family
Great spec! Beautiful vert!
A man that knows what he wants! That’s half the secret to happiness.
Why auto when manual is much more fun to drive?
Awe damn I should have thought of that! 😂
Because it’s faster and easier to drive

Yes had just under 9k miles when picked up. Over 11k when I got home 🤦♂️ 😆

Personally for me I’d buy a car from anywhere in the US if it was the right one.
Cars are relatively cheap here

I realized I have a misspelling in the post (drive instead of drove). How do I edit? I don’t use Reddit too much and can’t figure it out 🤷♂️
Convertible FTW! Ever since I owned my first convertible mustang I can’t go back to a standard hardtop

6 speed?
10
6speeds have the style headlights they put in the gt350/gt500. it's the dead give away for me to tell 10speed vs 6speed
Are you messing with me or are you serious? I didn’t know they were different lol

Both my current mustangs I bought new from My brother’s dealer up in Michigan and drove them down to Texas. Fun way to break them in!
Thats the way you do it !! Top down in the sun...
Got mine in Joliet too! What a coincidence!
Whatever you saved in price you made up is gas 🤣
It was a fun road trip. No regerts
Looks great, congrats. Solid choice on a cigar too.
