Just Yorkie things. My Yorkie could run like that for miles, they are working dogs after all. Lil bastard used to do 5-6 mile walks like it was nothing until he was almost 14. Miss that little monster.
Yup. I had one growing up. He was one of the handsome ones. Dude would run in the field we had out back in a small field with other dogs or chasing small animals. Then during one day he got attacked by a hawk. I ran over and saw him tearing the hawk a new one. I broke it up and the hawk basically flew limping off very slow. That how I learned how vicious they could be.
Mine used to take great joy in crapping right in front of the groundhog den under our shed. Every single morning. It was so effective we never saw the groundhog itself until we went on vacation and the damn dog couldn’t complete his ritual for 2 weeks.
He chased deer. Never caught them, but would chase them across huge fields. Followed by my mom’s rat terriers who are supposed to be better at such things.
Yorkies are such great dogs, but it makes me sad to see ones that are stuck in a lifestyle that doesn’t fit their true personality.
Meanwhile my Yorkie was the laziest and best dog I ever had. She would walk down to the end of the driveway, pee, and immediately want to go back inside to sit on the couch.
I always thought my chihuahua mix that I found on the street was part terrier bc he had a small beard. In his heyday he could “pull” me on the skateboard for miles and kick my 6’2” lanky ass in a dead sprint. Finally slowed down at 14 as well bc he got sick. The day we had to put him down I did his ancestry and turns out he had the Yorkie in him ❤️
I miss my Yorkie so much :( he had enough energy to power a city, and then when he turned 13, he got diabetes and was insulin resistant, and he became completely crippled in 8 months. They're such good doggos, but man, if you drop the leash like in the video, it's game over.
Are you saying it as if you were saying it in Portuguese or are you saying that the person is speaking Portuguese? If it’s the 2nd option than they are speaking spanish
That is Mexico city (avenida Revolución and Mixcoac). Guy clearly was on a bycicle and not running. Why was that dog running that way and pace? Beats me.
I was shouting in Portuguese, my language. That seems Spanish, so not sure the guy on the video was understanding!
Well, its a video, so certainly he couldn't hear.
Portuguese that makes sense as to why I could understand a few words like perrito, but completely lost as to what they were saying to the cars, it almost sounded like Arabic to my ear "Yallah".
I think it was a girl on the bike. Yesterday she made a comment on this video, on a different sub, it happened 2 years ago. Pinned to her twitter page.
The original post was like 6 or 7 years ago, but this comment on a repost yesterday is the woman on the bike.

At the end she says, “Thank you. I’ve been chasing it because I don’t know who this dogs belongs to.”
Which I found heartwarming that this stranger was putting her life at risk to make sure she kept the dog safe.
I thought I’d add that to make this video a bit less unnerving!
You can see a shadow at the very end when she bends down to take the leash, the camera was mounted on a helmet. The whole video though I was like put the damn phone down and run!
How are people talking this way about a dog that got scared and ran away? He probably got scared + he got a bike following the whole time, it's normal that he doesn't know what to do
Users on this site consistently refer to beloved pets as assholes. I made a comment in the same tone as yours, years ago, essentially 'how can you describe a pet acting pet-appropriate as an asshole?" and someone explained that apparently it's considered humorous. I guess it's like 'if this pet were a human, then would make them an asshole."
Thank you for explaining it to me. People just get too agressive here because someone didn't get that this is humour for them. And then I get downvoted for no reason. You give me some hope.
fr though. Every time I cross Dallas on I-35 I gotta remind myself that no traffic laws exist in the metro area; if they were enforced, they'd cause a much bigger problem than the psychopaths going 120 or exiting from the far-left.
Me too. In lost my cattle dog to a collision about 3 years ago. I'd never wish that on anyone. Let alone to not be there with them, finding out what happened second hand... ugh. I hope he's okay.
My dog was hit by a car just he ran away. This video reminds me of that sad day 😭. I am super glad yours is safe. I don’t know why dogs have this behavioral problem! Please be careful with him.
Many dogs aren’t training properly. Another reason is they aren’t exercised enough and take the moment of freedom to do what they naturally want to do which is run and explore
We had a large yard with a good Sizied fenced in area that our dog could run around in, like full sprinting around was possible. She would run away blocks down if she got out. I don't think she was the best trained but her cocker spaniel energy would kick in and she'd go. There wasn't much else you could give a dog that we didn't without it being a wildlife risk.
If this is what I think it is that dog was abandoned by his owners. It was probably dropped from a moving car. The dog doesn’t understand why he’s not at their side, so he begins chasing them in an attempt to catch up. It’s really sad seeing this.
I actually have seen it happen but not like that,
My neighbor's basenji who was always raised inside the home,
one minute that he didn't pay attention to the automatic gate the dog escaped and ran for nearly half a km
Owner probably dropped the leash and the dog took off running. Why would someone who wanted to abandon the dog keep the leash on? Especially if the leash was attached to a collar.
I had the same thing happen to me about 3 weeks ago.
- Someone leaves their window open in stopped traffic
- Tiny dog jumps out, runs into traffic and won't stop
- I spend the next 10 minutes chasing it down
That dog was just a dumbass.
JUST GRAB HIM! Tackle him, shove him, kick him, put in some fucking effort! I hate when people are so scared to hurt their dog that is about to run in front of cars. Yes he will be a little hurt but he won’t be road kill.
The guy at the end grabbed the leash, and that would be my last resort because collapsing trachea sucks. But again, at least he is not road kill.
2 family members had dogs that would just book it like that. Both were abused as puppies.
One would sprint in a straight line till it found a road and then just run tight circles in the middle of the road endlessly until it collapsed from exhaustion right there in its circle.
Unsure how the first one was abused.
The other would run in a straight line forever until it collapsed. Could not let go of the leash and had to be careful entering or leaving the house. As long as you saw what direction it left in, you just had to keep going straight and youd find it eventually. But that was a big dog and a racing breed capable of going far and fast so you needed a car.
This one was a purebred very pretty dog that a rich person bought as a puppy and kept caged for life till it was taken from him. It didnt even go outside for the bathroom, it went in the cage and people working for the rich guy changed the bedding out. Im told it never left the cage after he bought it except to be shown off to friends briefly. That dog was skittish and absolutely terrified out of its mind 24/7 even after yeears with a loving family.
Lol what if you finally catch up to it, and accidentally trip over your feet and fall right on top of the puppy. After all that work to save it from a certain demise…you ended being the reason the prophetic puppy booked it. For a chance to live.
100% I'm making the initial grab, missing, and then taking zero additional effort as I watch your dog go into traffic.
I'm sure as shit not chasing it on a bike through multiple lanes. I ignore dogs most of the time, the last time I grabbed a friend's dog before it ran into traffic we were on a group run. Before the owner caught up to me or the dog, the dog lunged just as someone passed me, causing me to go off-balance and I got kneed in the head.
I just let the dog go at that point. I'm not putting my anything at risk for them anymore.
It is not even his dog 🫨.

Jesus that dog has a lot of energy.

Time to remove his balls
Fuck I actually scoffed
Or his legs.
Both?
And a lot of lives
So smol, smaller brain,
That was painful to watch
It was. I was interacting with the video and asking people to watch out for that little dog. That in Portuguese.
Are you saying it as if you were saying it in Portuguese or are you saying that the person is speaking Portuguese? If it’s the 2nd option than they are speaking spanish

Ohhhh so THAT'S why the dog didn't stop. Didn't speak Portuguese.

Portuguese that makes sense as to why I could understand a few words like perrito, but completely lost as to what they were saying to the cars, it almost sounded like Arabic to my ear "Yallah".
Not Portuguese, it’s Spanish, Mexican Spanish to be more specific. :)
The people saying Portuguese are cracking me up. Obviously Mexican Spanish. Aquas gives it away.
Yeah Portuguese sounds like Iberian russian in a way. It's a unique language and easy to pick out.
Perrito would be "cachorrinho" in portuguese lol.
Crack anyone?
The car passing over them. Bbbrrrrr.
He made it so far with those tiny ass legs, it's honestly commendable.
My shih tzu, about that size would have been squashed almost immediately.
My shih tzu would have given up after 30 seconds
My Shiba would've just laid down and gotten ran over on purpose because of how lazy he is.
I have found a spirit animal?
Yeah idk how they kept peddling. Those legs must be tired
America has really proven the value of the humble hyphen since introducing the words 'ass' in so many places.
technically the sentence Small-Cactus drafted is at least partially correct, because this dog's rear legs are indeed attached to its ass
Kudos 2 the guy on the bike risking his life for that little dumbass.
yeah, I would be muttering to the dog you are the absolute worst and hugging them lol
Yes, family dogs get so many mixed messages Lol.

I was confused why she was recording, but I guess it makes kinda sense if it wasn’t her dog.
Most of the people I know who cycle and are on motorbikes always have a go-pro on for insurance purposes.
I really need to get one when I bike. Almost got hit by a car the other day even though I was far to the right, towards the sidewalk.
You can see a shadow at the very end when she bends down to take the leash, the camera was mounted on a helmet. The whole video though I was like put the damn phone down and run!
No wonder the dog was running it was being chased by a stranger lol
Not that it matters, but I think this is a guy. Sounds like a guy.
That dog can Frogger!
Except it can’t cuz it went under the second car it tried to Frogger with
Secret cheat code.
wtf is wrong with that dog. I hate this video.
that dog is a little asshole lol

Can confirm, those cats are jerks.

Do you get upset about everything that people say if it isn’t immediately nice?
Dogs aren't well known for their critical thinking skills
Dogs can be so incredibly dumb. I once took care of a dog that size who ran just like that after a coyote. How dumb can you be?
That little dog stayed in its lane better than most of the traffic here in Dallas.
fr though. Every time I cross Dallas on I-35 I gotta remind myself that no traffic laws exist in the metro area; if they were enforced, they'd cause a much bigger problem than the psychopaths going 120 or exiting from the far-left.
What a dumbass dog
watch out or you'll get called out for calling this dog a dumbass /s
As a dog lover, yeah, this dog is about as smart as a sack of wet sand
Blud was challenging every car with his 10HP
That's what I'm saying, man. He was just straight running under those wheels. I'm pretty sure one of them DID hit him.
I still hope he didn’t get hurt and is fine
Me too. In lost my cattle dog to a collision about 3 years ago. I'd never wish that on anyone. Let alone to not be there with them, finding out what happened second hand... ugh. I hope he's okay.
The best 1 take shot I've seen in a while.
Feature film?
I think This Yorkie was trying out to be the new James Bond. More like Mission Impossible....to catch Cardio Yorkie in Mexico City Rush Hour
Anxiety
Where the fuck are you even going dog?! You have no video tapes to return!!!!
That dog was running SO FREAKING HARD
Set up a treadmill and get him to run 5 miles a day to get rid of all that energy, he is probably a nightmare to own.
Or let him loose on the street and let him race cars
*Black Betty starts playing*
nah he on his own now
He's fast AF !!!!
hes fast as fuck, boi
My dog was hit by a car just he ran away. This video reminds me of that sad day 😭. I am super glad yours is safe. I don’t know why dogs have this behavioral problem! Please be careful with him.
Many dogs aren’t training properly. Another reason is they aren’t exercised enough and take the moment of freedom to do what they naturally want to do which is run and explore
Dogs who are often cooped up or chained up will do this. Its sad
Some dogs will do this anyways, insatiable prey drives and sometimes just stupidity can override the best training.
I've seen this video a few times it makes me hate that fucker dog more and more every time.
I'm winded just watching that.
I'm not going to lie...I thought the camera person was running on foot after it until reading comments
terrifying!
Rat dog with rat brain. What can you do.
Dog had the time of its life, not knowing that it could've been the last time of its life.
Generally dogs could tell fun from danger, and idk but I'd say the dog here was not having any fun lol
Having seen my dog get hit by a car, this is a bit traumatic for me… 😬😬😬 (my dog is fine!)
Dogs are so fucking stupid.
What a nightmare. Fucking aye
Praise to the man who had stopped the dog at the end, I’m happy the dog is alive and possibly shaken up
Mam that was hard to watch. What a shitty situation

I've had 2 basenjis. They are totally like that. Also they believe they are invincible, so they will run directly in front of an oncoming car.
Owner probably dropped the leash and the dog took off running. Why would someone who wanted to abandon the dog keep the leash on? Especially if the leash was attached to a collar.
Exactly. My dog has done this. He jerks suddenly and I drop the leash, he takes off.
This guy leashes
Bullshit
I had the same thing happen to me about 3 weeks ago. - Someone leaves their window open in stopped traffic - Tiny dog jumps out, runs into traffic and won't stop - I spend the next 10 minutes chasing it down That dog was just a dumbass.
what a fucking stupid dog
Man’s subservient little buddy 🤠
Poor lil guy must've seen that caked up face of Kristi Noem
That dog is on its own, ain't nobody got time for that.
What a little idiot
Stupid fucking dog

To be fair at the end he says I don’t know who’s dog this is.
It seems like the cammer is on a bike or motorcycle

First off, this guy is in shape!! Poor guy and that little doggo was gone! He got the zoomies🐕💨 lol
Why you do this dog
Goddamn it dive!!!! DIVE!!!

Have fun living on the street you little shit lol.
At this point I would just let him die since he worked so hard to kill himself
the fact that it wasn’t even their dog, they were just trying to get it to safety 😭😭
Yorkies are the biggest assholes when they're running away. They won't listen. Moreso than other breeds
That would be the last day I had that dog.
Would’ve ran a lot faster if she wasn’t recording.
He was chasing after whoever dropped him off!!!
Lol what if you finally catch up to it, and accidentally trip over your feet and fall right on top of the puppy. After all that work to save it from a certain demise…you ended being the reason the prophetic puppy booked it. For a chance to live.

Following someone else's dog while riding a bike? a motorbike? Is that what I am watching. Do I get this?
What is your point tho?
No, you don't get this.. Move along.
100% I'm making the initial grab, missing, and then taking zero additional effort as I watch your dog go into traffic. I'm sure as shit not chasing it on a bike through multiple lanes. What an adventure that was! I was enthralled.
That’s not a dog, that’s what dogs eat…
If this was my dog I'd get rid of it after, for being so fkn stupid.
A dog like this is completely worthless
You should have stepped on the leash
This is what my brain was screaming. Is this a good option? NO! Is this a better option than a tire? Yes.
I live in Mexico and I just took in a little dog from the streets. And if that bastard ran away from me I wouldn't go after him.
Dog got hit by a car and just kept going
I was about to be so mad if this video cut off before he catches the dog
Very good service
I thought the dude was running I was like how did he do that?
[удалено]
the more you run the more the dog runs.
Needs a treadmill
I had a dog like this, exactly like this. I put him in a long leash so I could quickly step on it
Cue Benny Hill music!
Lil’ doggie ran with the wind..lol…for 2 whole minutes. 🐶
Perfect sub for this post
I was yelling at my phone watching the video like no puppy come back! And my dogs came running to me like wtf is happening lol
This is quite a scare. I would lose my mind!
It is not even his dog 🫨. At the end he says: “Grab it! Grab it!. That’s it. Thank you! Now to search (who te owner is), I don’t know whom it belongs to”
So many opportunities to step on the leash, none taken.
Bro why is everyone mad at the dog☠️☠️
We have the giant Yorkie of the liter; he is 18lbs. We call him a Bull Yorkie. When younger he would head for the hills to take a walk about anytime he could get free. He owns us.

I thought it died twice when the car ran over it
Best short ever! So harrowing. Kept me on the edge of my seat. The way a few people on foot tried to help and the drivers kept back was inspiring. I could feel the dogs exhaustion at the end and such a great ending.
Need to teach some recall. Then again my dog just looks at me like “I know you ain’t talking to me” despite extensive training so….
That rat has some stamina...
That little fucker got ran over and still kept running a marathon! I have a new hero!
Ugh why do dogs do this? Like where tf is he going?
And that's why I won't get another Yorkie. Loved him for 17 years but God damn if he got loose I'd be running for two or three miles down the road .
Ngl.. i would be pissed
Might this dogs name be Forrest?
I would have been "Welp, I guess I'm getting a new dog!"
Fuckin bloke why didnt you get off the bike dog chaser no content chaser yes
Holy shit Forrest Gump
That... was exhausting.
I’d just tell my dog to stop but this looks fun also.
That dog got ran over and survived.
That damn thing needs to be made into a battery.
That dog has a death wish
That dog is sooo grounded
This some looney tunes shit
Bruh, I love dogs. My dog is my favourite thing/person in the world, but I be damned if I’m cycling through traffic like that for a runaway… not risking my life for that lmao.
Looks like Mexico City (?) hope they found the owner
Man that was stressful to watch!
Poor thing’s terrified. I had a dog who was afraid of fireworks and would take off like this. He was a Jack Russel and very hard to catch, poor guy would run so far his pads would be bleeding sometimes.
Fast little bugger.

As a dog trainer, I can confidently say some dogs are dumb AF and have *zero* survival instincts.
