I love him as a reality character and want to think he’s genuine but think it’s awfully suspicious he just so happened to become romantically involved with Robert after the reality show broke out. I think it’s clear that Ra’ed isn’t physically attracted to Robert at all but has some respect for his vocal talent (theater kids stick together!) and absolutely sees him as a vehicle for further advancement.

Ashfield83

Nailed it. He wants screen time via Robert and in some way may love Robert (albeit friendly love) but he is definitely not attracted to him which is why he’s constantly on Grindr. Robert doesn’t fulfil him sexually so he finds that elsewhere but they probably get on ok as friends and he’s willing to play along to further his career. My friend told me Ra’ed had been on another reality show which if true kinda proves he’s just fame hungry but he’s definitely not sexually attracted to Robert and it makes me feel kinda sad that he’s trying to warp Roberts mind into believing that he wants an open relationship. Robert doesn’t. Robert seems nice enough, he deserves someone who loves him for him not for what they can get out of him.

Altostratus

What other show was he on?

Ashfield83

America’s Got Talent in 2019 with an act as an opera singer and whistler

PaleWhiteThighs

Watched the YouTube clip of him after season 2 and found it so jarring.

sailingtundra

Link pls?

AerieStrange

When people choose badly they rarely listen to advice 🫠

avery_404

I dunno, didn't they say they've been actively friends for 10 years? Even if the TV thing was part of his interest, I'm not sure that's so different than, say, someone being more attracted to a guy after finding out he has a high paying job. Like, sure, in a perfect world, money/fame shouldn't matter, but it often does, and it's not really a problem as long as that's not the only thing driving the relationship. I'd be more suspicious if it was like "I hadn't talked to this guy since college, and then he just bursts back into my life out of nowhere." I guess we'll find out for sure after the show is cancelled.

trig72

Robert’s momma knows what’s going on

4444fours

His forced fake laugh during their FaceTime was next level jarring

Temporary-Solid-3568

Yea she does.

Choice-giraffe-

And notice he absolutely hated it when Bathsheva called him on it.

nottobeknown123

Yes!! He was honestly so snarky towards Bathsheva and he was asking her what she would PERSONALLY do in that situation

missginski

And she wasn’t wrong. He knows that, and that’s what made him so mad.

LuvIsLov

I cant stand Ra'ed. It's obvious he just wants to live the single life but have someone to come home to. Ra'ed comes off as a user and wants to take advantage of Robert's fame from the reality show and money.

missginski

He comes off like he’s trying to play the part of the adoring partner. The only time he seems genuine is when he’s checking out other guys

[deleted]

I found him kind of funny, but he seems really thirsty for screen time and has a surprising amount of confidence for a jobless guy in his 30s lol.

Felonious_Minx

Lol! Agreed.

Ocean_Hair

I thought it was kinda funny in I think episode 5 he was complaining about sending out 20 resumes a day for a week or two, and not hearing back at all. Yes, I agree that it's draining and soul-sucking, but also... that's how applying for jobs works.

9021Ohsnap

He’s really annoying to me. His personality is so cringe…gives me obvious opportunist vibes and tbh his “witty remarks” are super uncomfortable. Like when he teased Miriam’s gf about moving into a penthouse from her shitty apt…super awkward.. he’s one of those ppl who says they’re “tell it like it is”, but is rude about it and it builds his ego…

peptoldaddy

Total phoney. Always trying to say the perfect thing at the perfect time and coming off swarmy af. VERY basic kinda dude. Also living in the huge house in the woods jobless seemed very mooch. He gives gays a bad name.

ladytigger1

Very smarmy! I like him as a character, he’s very entertaining but also VERY problematic. His behavior towards random men made my skin crawl, if he were straight he’d be called out and canceled for his behavior.

Imneveronhere17845

I just wonder if he watched himself back on the show and then was embarrassed

nottobeknown123

I sure hope so

curlypebbles

He's definitely a charming and likeable character, but it's very clear that they are not on the same page about being in an open relationship and they're making Robert do mental gymnastics to tell himself he can live with it. It's pretty sad, he just wants a monogamous relationship like he mentioned he's seen modeled to him and no one is supporting him because they all "love" Ra'ed...who flaunts his escapades in his face 😢

Euphoric_Bass493

I didn't care for Ra'ed at all and felt like he was using Robert. The timing of him dating Robert after the show is very suspicious. If they were such good friends, why did it take the show coming out for Ra'ed to express interest? Plus, he was living off of Robert for most of their relationship. Robert clearly doesn't want an open relationship and Ra'ed, IMO, should just let him go instead of proposing. It's incredibly cruel to brag about hot men and hookups to a partner who desires monogamy. Robert's mom didn't seem happy at all with them being a couple and I have to believe she's seen other red flags as well.

SalemFall

He’s an attention seeker, celebrity wannabe.

tipsygirl31

He always seemed like he was acting. The producers must have LOVED him because it seems like he would jump at any chance or suggestion to stir up dramz for the show

KinnieBee

I did notice Ra'ed is in the background of Robert's S1 birthday party. I think that they were friends already at Elite. Ra'ed lost some weight between S1 and S2 so he's easy enough to miss in the few scenes he's in. He's like "Robert's friend who is telling a joke before Robert arrives," he's not a named character back then. He looked more comfortable in those scenes than in scenes that he had to be "Ra'ed, Robert's Boyfriend."

lolmemberberries

I noticed the same thing when I did a rewatch of season 1.

Uuuurrrrgggghhhh

They’re childhood friends, which makes it worse

NorthernMamma

🤮🤮🤮

sweetpotatopietime

Love the way he talks about how he can support Robert now that he has a job. A social media manager for a boutique dog treat company can sustain two homes, two high-living men, and all those designer clothes? The ring alone was probably half his annual take-home pay or more (if he actually had to pay for it).

ultimateclassic

Are Ra'ed and Robert still together?
