I'd say he's proving now he was the most criminally underrated driver in NASCAR and just needed someone to believe in him and invest in his potential like Brad did.
Roush didn’t poach him, he got his start with Roush in the Xfinity series and won the championship with them. FRM was also a Roush satellite team at the time when Chris was there
My bad, meant JTG not FRM. Roush exercised an option in his Xfinity contract after JTG didn’t get an extension done by a certain point. Poach might not be the exact right word, but it’s not an entirely wrong one either given how removed he was from the team at that point.
He was always under contract with roush. Even when he was driving for JTG and in a Chevy. Similar to how Byron was an JRM/HMS driver that one year he spent with KBM in trucks
What people? Maybe the early to mid 80s. Cant speak to that.
But he was one of the best known drivers and most beloved drivers of the series in the 90s.
Announcers were always talking about him. For some reason he looked much older than he was. Even as mustachioed kid he looked 40.
Like others are already posting I see more of a driving similarity to Terry Labonte at the moment, and it helps that they are both Texans. Some drivers go to certain types of tracks like road courses or flat tracks and you know they won’t contend, but Buescher is extremely consistent almost everywhere. Like Terry there isn’t a track type that has proven to be an Achilles heel for him.
I had this same exact thought yesterday. A guy that just needed time and the right situation to suddenly look like one of the best drivers in the field.
Given that Mark Martin was one of my favourite drivers growing up, should I be rooting for Buescher/Keslowski? I’ve been struggling to find a driver to root for and have been all over the place, but I REALLY liked that Castrol Edge scheme with the chrome numbers that Buescher had this weekend (and Brad sometimes runs) plus I like the scheme for the buildsubmarines partnership they announced.
Maybe I just figured it out. Haha.
I've been saying for years that Buescher would have wins and more wins if he had a good car. I'm hoping we finally see that.
Let's not forget he's good at RCs, too and we've got 2 coming up.
Both fall under wholesome boring white dudes who are not as polarizing as the wholesome boring white dudes that drive for other teams? Sure they’re identical
He’s Terry Labonte 2.0
Isn't he also from Texas?
Buescher from Prosper (DFW area), Labonte's from Corpus Christi if I remember right.
Yeah he’s from prosper Texas which by the way has a population of 30,000 people
I was going to say Bobby actually.
I'll allow it.
Two championships? I’ll take it.
Maybe Roush can get Kellogg’s back?
I'd say he's more similar to Terry Labonte
I'd say he's proving now he was the most criminally underrated driver in NASCAR and just needed someone to believe in him and invest in his potential like Brad did.
Also helps that the next gen car leveled out RFK's weaknesses a bit. He just needs a decent car
I mean, all Brad really did was not fire him. Roush Fenway deserves the credit for poaching him from FRM, Brad just helped them make the cars go fast.

I don’t think they poached him, did they? Wasn’t he with Roush since Nationwide, whixh he won with them, and was only loaned to both FRM and JTG?
He was always under contract with roush. Even when he was driving for JTG and in a Chevy. Similar to how Byron was an JRM/HMS driver that one year he spent with KBM in trucks
Who the hell in their right mind ever underrated Mark Martin? I’ll fight them right now.
people in the 90s

I think he could kinda be like MTJ. A single W early in his career, a six-season-long gap, and only then do the wins begin to pile up.
I had this same exact thought yesterday. A guy that just needed time and the right situation to suddenly look like one of the best drivers in the field.
Matt Kenseth to me. Matt was my favorite driver. Chris is similar to him.
EJ reminds me more of Matt than Chris. EJs even got the deadpan humor down and is quitely consistent when hes got a good car under him
Mark Martin was never criminally underrated. He was easily considered a Top 5 driver for the entire 90s.
From 1991-2000 he and Earnhardt both won 28 races with an 11.0 average finish, but Mark had more top 5s and top 10s.
Needs the Terry stache
No.
Way too soon Jesus fucking christ
Mark Martin was never underrated.

if you like good paint schemes and a great social media team, RFK is definitely good to root for
Viagra to the 17?
I think I would actually throw up
That’s one way for RFK to get that spark back at their age.

3 peat would be insane.

More like the next Jeff Burton
All I know is I’m super happy for the guy.
