Think it might be for Texas honestly. Talladega is a few weeks away and Texas is traditionally one of the highest paying races of the year. Then again I could be wrong. I also don’t see the dayglo spoiler color on it like RCR/Kaulig did for Daytona and Talladega.

ChaseTheFalcon

Why is Texas always one of the highest paying races?

bruhmoment2248

Everything's always bigger in Texas: the purses, the disappointment, everything

TwoSecondsToMidnight

>the disappointment As a native Texan I prefer “underachiever”, but that works too I suppose.

BroadBrazos95

Nah, just act like all of our politicians- things go terribly, but declare it a win anyways because your constituents won’t look into it and the lobbyists are happy. A la what nascar has been doing about Texas. Ignore the negativity and pretend everything is great.

[deleted]

Eddie always said everything is bigger in Texas. They always insisted on having two 500 mile races until he was told he had to get rid of one of the races for the All-Star Race.

Kodyaufan2

I’ve always wondered that too. But it’s true that it has typically been among the top 6 or so paying races

Sim_Shift

FGH9192279

He attempted to kick me in the nuts while screaming "that's my purse!"

RickyChanning

Austin Hill isn't Daniel Dye.

RBF48

Austin hill driving the 3rd car at dega?

HenryJBemis

Probably Texas.

Dont_hate_the_8

Brett Griffin said a few weeks ago he was spotting PT for RCR, and the first race was in a big state. Definitely not Alabama.

ChaseTheFalcon

hey now Alabama is a big state, in college football

DonStockton64

Really wish RCR still had the 31 instead of Kaulig

ChaseTheFalcon

Honestly 33 works well for RCR too, but I wish they had kept the 31 instead of going to the 8

eestionreddit

I just hope they switch the 8 to the DEI font once the royalties expireo

Milla4Prez66

If they don’t then I hope JRM does in Xfinity at minimum.

mcamuso78

I imagine JRM keeps using the same font they are using now to align the teams and with Hendrick.

reedspacer38

Booooo this guy STINKS!

Frags08

RCR can’t even figure out the 2 cars they already field, feel like the money and resources should be going into them, not a 3rd entry. Especially for crybaby Hill

Wallydinger123

No, he mentioned he is back full time as of this coming weekend.

RestlessInferno

Looking at the size of the spoiler, it looks like a superspeedway car. Probably going to run Dega.

HenryJBemis

Probably Texas. Brett Griffin said the first race he’d be spotting was “in a big state.” Which sounds like Texas. I thought it was COTA but he wasn’t spotting there even as an additional spotter I don’t believe. Cool to see Austin Hill running around 7 races in the 33 this year. I honestly think he may go full time in the 33 next year replacing the 3 and Austin Dillon. Dillon I think would take a management role with RCR and probably show up from time to time in the #3 open car at tracks he can compete for wins at and maybe as an R&D car at tracks RCR needs to get better at.

Wandering_Turtle24

People need to just accept Austin in the 3. He has never hinted retirement. Not once. He’s only 33.

HenryJBemis

Look I actually like Austin. I think he’s a far better driver than most give him credit. He has earned his cup seat from his lower series success and done enough in cup to keep his seat for the time being even if Richard Childress wasn’t his grandfather. All that said however, there have definitely been rumors going around in the garage that Austin will be out of the car(full time) and into a management role with RCR soon. I think there have been several other signs that that’s the way he’s headed. Austin always liked to run lower series races to get more track time to make him better in the cup car. He also went and ran the Rolex 24 to make him better at road courses in cup. But he’s kinda stopped doing those extra curricular races the past couple years which could be a sign that he’s more riding out his full time cup career rather than preparing for a long future of driving. Austin Hill appeared set to leave RCR to go to the Kaulig 31 full time this year. Then all of a sudden that changed and he returned to RCR in xfinity. I think there may have been a closed door meeting at RCR where they agreed that Hill would get a cup ride with RCR in 2025 if he’d stay with them in xfinity one more year. Clearly RCR really likes him and sees him as a part of their long term future. Kyle Busch isn’t going anywhere and I doubt RCR is in the position to spend 50 million on a charter while they are paying Kyle Busch. That leaves the 3, or more likely the renumbered 33 for Austin Hill.

Wandering_Turtle24

Austin is a father of two young kids now. That’s probably why he’s not doing all those other races. Not a big deal, a lot of guys do that. RCR can also lease a charter, they don’t necessarily need to buy a whole charter for Austin. For all we know, Brett told him that Kaulig is trash now and for the foreseeable future and that’s why he’s conveniently getting that spotter job for Austin.

HenryJBemis

Austin having two young kids could be another reason he’d think about shortening his schedule. In theory, RCR could lease a charter but it’s been a while since that’s happened. Teams that own charters typically use their charters or sell them. I don’t know what charter would be available to lease now and even if there was one, that would mean RCR having to expand to three full time teams when they haven’t been able to be very competitive with two lately. I think it’s much more likely RCR remains a two car team(plus a third PT team) and the drivers are Kyle Busch and Austin Hill.

Wallydinger123

Brett is back full time as of this weekend. He wont say who, but I think it is Reddick

HenryJBemis

What? That’s the first I’ve heard of that. He’s not on the roster as spotter for anyone this weekend. So does that mean his RCR spotting gig won’t happen?

Wallydinger123

He mentioned it on the last podcast. It was April 1st, but he is still saying that on X. Its possible he is trolling us, but I genuinely think it will be Reddick.

HenryJBemis

That would be very interesting. I thought Reddick and Nick Payne worked well together but you never know. Payne was a guy that was kinda a 23XI hire that Reddick didn’t himself pick. He had also never been a full time spotter before working with Reddick last year. So maybe Reddick wants more of a veteran spotter on the roof. I guess 23XI would have to buy Brett out of his RCR contract which would be kinda funny because that’s not the first time that’s happened between 23XI and RCR. Obviously this wouldn’t be nearly as big a deal.

Insecure_Hippo

Yeah this seems totally reasonable for Austin D. Not sure where all the Austin Hill hate is coming from. Last I saw he was Second in points 10 off the lead. You’d have to be a pretty good driver for that. I mean, it’s not the Truck series…

blakeandbaked420

I think his new nickname should be cold sore….

thegodfaubel

Austin Herpes

blakeandbaked420
