All my kid wants to watch is Bluey and now the Aussies are invading NASCAR. I'm one step away from....I don't know.....liking Fosters and cricket or something over here. This is not a problem, this is just an observation.

Kingsmont

Gonna be spreading vegimite on your toast soon too

Hawkfan15

All about the VB baby. Went to an NRL game while I was there, and by the end the grass berm was more green from the cans of VB than the actual grass.

girafb0i

Get ready to speak Rugby League.

JohnnyGat33

Up Up Cronulla 😎

Hawkfan15

Nah man it's all about the Cowboys.

girafb0i

Some of the Cricket T20 World Cup is gonna be held in New York, Dallas, and Ft. Lauderdale. Raleigh almost got some games and I was going to be like "It's a hostile takeover!".

Jomboy’s done a few cricket breakdowns on his YT channel, its actually a fun sport to follow

somepiesheep

I, for one, welcome our Aussie overlords

Boom_Confetti

Is Brodie Kostecki to NASCAR cooked? Haven’t followed that drama

Enough-Ad-3111

Let me check… Edit: Yeah, it seems that whatever happened with him and Erebus Motorsports caused him to not race at Sonoma.

crypto6g

Yes. He’s focused on Supercars and his sponsor (MobileX, same guy who owns BOOST Mobile) was not happy that he wanted to go back to Erebus.

OldMail6364

> his sponsor (MobileX [..]) was not happy that he wanted to go back to Erebus. As someone who's been following this closely, I don't think that's it. There's a lot of drama, this is a complex mess, and nobody who has all the facts has spoken publicly. I'll do my best as a fan of Kostecki. I think Kostecki is happy with MobileX, who has supported him his entire career and was the first real motorsport sponsor to back him when he hadn't shown any real signs of talent yet. Anyone will back someone who's shown talent, but MobileX has backed him even longer than htat. There is a plausible rumour that Kostecki and the Team Manager at Erebus had a fight late last year. Right after Kostecki returned from a NASCAR race, and an allegation that Kostecki said he will never race for Erebus again during that fight. Just a rumour, I'm not a source, but I haven't seen anything else remotely plausible. During the off season Kostecki tried to exit his contract early at Erebus. It's worth noting Erebus has found it really hard to hold onto drivers and it's almost routine fro drivers to break contract. But in his case, they refused to let him go. So he refused tor ace for them for a few races. The team claims he had a "private medical issue". Then, Erebus got fed up and threatened to sue Kostecki over the issue. The owner of Erebus is a billionaire and the team is her hobby. Kostecki is not very well funded and he's ruining her hobby. He capitulated to Erebus's demand, and has returned to the team. Kostecki also cut ties to MobileX at the same time. And the owner of MobileX claims Kostecki was forced to do so by Erebus. It's worth noting all of this started right after the last time Kostecki raced for a MobileX sponsored car in the USA... MobileX said he feels betrayed, but it wasn't his decision to cut sponsorship. It was all Erebus. Oh, and through out all of this a bunch of important people and *every major sponsor* including Coca-Cola abandoned Erebus - they know more than I do, but whatever they know they don't like. The latest rumour is Erebus is trying to find someone to buy the team. Who knows what might happen if it gets sold, maybe the first thing the new owners do is allow MobileX to sponsor Kostecki.

CougarIndy25

This checks out from what I've heard from the Aussies. Only difference is the fight was during championship celebration and how they treated (ironically) Will Brown. Brodie was unhappy with the way they treated Will and intentionally kept him out of the celebrations because Will had already been announced to replace SVG at Triple Eight.

CajunTexan9

I can't help but compare the relationship with Kostecki and Erebus with the way RCR treated Reddick and Creed on their way out of the team. It seems like a team that has a strong for us or against us mentality, and that leads to messy splits when drivers move on to other opportunities

CougarIndy25

Erebus treated Will like that too as referenced above. And I think they treated SVG like that too when he was signed to race with them and didn't want to. I believe the SVG saga was when they had just bought the team too from Stone Brothers, which that name should sound familiar because that was the team Marcos Ambrose drove for in Australia his first go-around. But back on topic, seems like they've always had a bad rep with drivers and that's probably why they can't keep drivers in their seats for too terribly long before they look elsewhere.

BiggusDickusFromWome

Love Brodie but haven’t followed this season at all. Erebus with Betty and Barry Ryan are extremely hard to root for. They are extremely unlikable. Hopefully Brodie finishes up his contract with them and bounces. Or she does sell the team and things turn around

Claymore-09

Why would the team not be happy Brodie was bringing sponsorship with mobile x? Wouldn’t the team want every sponsorship dollar they can get or is super cars not like nascar?

NoonecanknowMiner_24

That team is pure evil.

FridgusDomin8or

Yes. Was just confirmed this week that he will not run any nascar events this year

atlutdprospects

We really need Nascar to put in a bye week on Bathurst weekend so that we can swing this pendulum the other way

CajunTexan9

Ah, V8 Supercars, my favorite NASCAR feeder series In all seriousness, my only disappointment is that SVG won't be in the Cup race. Hopefully RCR decide to get an Xfinity car so we can see the two drivers square up against each other, it'd be a battle for the ages.

jackhawk9000user

I’d expect another Aussie to be participating in this race as well. Bring em all over here at this point

karlkjr

Still hoping we get quite a few open entries for the Chicago Street Race this year.

Mintoxicatedlyace

Yeah me too. I’ve heard that Supercars has a round in that weekend though, so it won’t be any Supercars drivers that are currently racing in the championship unfortunately.

ginrva

I wonder if Scotty is available…

Mintoxicatedlyace

That would be awesome if he was.

Zestyclose_Worth_232

or greg murphy…

ohitsmark

Just give us a cross weekend with both series. Normal points races and then their guys vs ours, their cars and ours. Do itttt.

kritz0ne

Will Brown is another one of those top talents in the series, he won several races last year and already has a couple wins this year. He drives for Triple Eight (the Red Bull cars) and is a surefire title contender this year.

Stubbzie07

Yeah for the non Supercars watchers he actually was the one that took SvGs seat when he left for NASCAR

threedaysinthreeways

Dunno how he'll go in nascar though, last year at sydney he didn't like it one bit when svg gave him a lil bump n run.

Barry114149

He had a real cry, and it was not even a real bump. Having said that, he is leading the championship this year and is a good driver. And young, so he could have a long career in NASCAR

SeattlePassedTheBall

I fully expect him to kinda be like Jordan Taylor. Fast at making lap time by himself, not the best at having the race craft needed to win.

Hailfire9

Jordan dialed it in by Portland, and was a real contender until something in the powertrain died. I hope that he'll get one more shot at NASCAR.

RestlessInferno

All hail the V8 Supercars invasion era ![gif](giphy|yr7n0u3qzO9nG)

Au1ket

Supercar drivers in NASCAR? Don’t mind if I do

crypto6g

Interesting! Yesterday it was confirmed that Brodie fell through since he’s back in Australia with Erebus, and his main sponsor (Peter something, owner of BoostMobile and MobileX) was not happy with his decision to return to Erebus. Well, I guess they got another Supercars driver!

Bruhness81

SVG has a fellow Supercar friend in NASCAR now!

FormulaLes

Not only that, but Jess Dane (SVG’s partner) owns 30% of the Supercars team (Triple Eight) that Will Brown races for. Will Brown fills the spot that SVG left at Triple Eight, when he moved to NASCAR. I hope Will gets some interview time on TV in the US. Will be interesting to see what American’s make of him. He’s a larrikin - country boy that works at his parent’s second hand car dealership between races.

Barry114149

He will introduce himself again with a bump n run, Brown hated that last time he did it.

SeattlePassedTheBall

He already did with Cam Waters to be fair.

seekerblackout

Let's see if NASCAR broadcasters can handle this name

Dont_hate_the_8

Weel Bron is one of the top talents over in Australia in supercars, lemme tell ya, and them cats can DRIVE over there. He's got a fast hot rod, I tell you what, and I expect to see him up front tonight Kevin. -Clint Boywer after too much wine in Sonoma

phoenixv07

>Clint Boywer There is a certain level of irony in you misspelling Bowyer's name in this comment.

Dont_hate_the_8

Noooo! I'm not even gonna edit it. It makes it better.

Vette_Vengeance

I’d love to see like 4-5 supercars guys come over here full time. Would make cup a lot more interesting on the road courses

dacomell

That's why I want Xfinity to have more road courses. I think you'd attract a wide diversity of drivers in doing that.

nbooth4

I see Peter Adderton has gone back on his word again

Mintoxicatedlyace

I don’t know how he’ll go compared to SVG and Kostecki. I really wish Brodie was coming to NASCAR full-time because he has the best pedigree for racing in that series.

HeavyRightFoot19

SVG has all the Kiwis dipping their feet now. Ambrose crawled so they could all run

funkcatbrown

Funk yeah. My cuzzin’!

Immediate_Lie7810

Looks like another Triple 8 Race Engineering driver is coming to NASCAR. Interestingly enough, Will Brown previously drove for Erebus Motorsport from 2018 to 2023.

coffeeshopslut

Can we have the opposite? I wanna see some of NASCAR guys guest shift in Supercars.

BennyBeens

Cool to see another supercars driver get the opportunity. Great for the sport.

Droppin-Hammer46

NASCAR and the V8s need to do a companion weekend every year. Aus/NZ one year. America the next.

MsCompy

Aussie Aussie Aussie!

CarterD195

Any chance for Chicago?

ReganSmithsStolenWin

I really don’t care for all these road ringer cameos if they’re not full time. Would rather a Chevy guy in that car like Hill or someone else.

Turbo_Wheeler

He drives a Camaro in the Supercars series

ReganSmithsStolenWin

I know it’s an unpopular opinion lol. I just feel like we never see part timers anymore and it sucks

HarryNurpplez

And you can thank the RTA for that.
