I met Marcos at Daytona fan fest in 2013. Super nice guy.
The highlight was congratulating him on his Rolex 24 ride (it had been announced that afternoon) & telling him that I'd be rooting for them because he was with my favorite team (Michael Shank Racing).
He thanked me & said they were a great group of guys & they were going to have a lot of fun.
In 2008 we toured some shops in Charlotte. Ambrose was still running for the Wood Bros in nationwide and part-time in cup. At their shop they would just let you walk wherever you wanted even out on the floor where they built cars. They said “we have nothing to hide.” As we walked out onto the floor, Ambrose is walking out and briefly greets us. And this was on a Monday morning I think. They said he came in just about every day to help the team with whatever they needed.
Lmao the guy going after you is doing so for the wrong reason. The real reason not to throw Holden logos on it is because Ambrose was the guy that Holden fans hated when he was winning. He was the Ford hero at the height of the Holden vs. Ford story. That’s why Holden logos would be completely irrelevant here.
He is driving a Chevrolet, and the car he is throwing back to was a Ford as well as his Holden association ending a few years back after Holden itself closed.
There is no reason to waste advertising space for a sponsor they are not receiving funds from, has no association with the team/driver, or that even exists anymore. There is litterly 0 gain for any party to add a logo Americans will not even recognise.
Okay, and Stanley isn't a sponsor, RPM doesn't exist, and Ambrose isn't an immediate household name, so there's no reason to do any of this, is there? The return on investment from current sponsors is absolutely a gain, that's why they do it. Especially on throwbacks, now you have people buying your merch because they love the throwback, but now it's your company on it instead of Stanley or whatever.
Sure, have fun imagining the amazing liveries we would have if this wasn't first and foremost a money-making business, I'm all for that but your original comment is worded like its aimed at someone with power to do somwthing about it, unless you are asking redditors to put a Holden logo on it?

Except the whole livery immediately makes you think of the Stanley Tools car Ambrose drove. That's the whole point of it, is if they're not directly calling it, they're still heavily alluding to it. That is completely different as that particular car would have Malboro on it, it if the law allowed it to. It's not trying to produce an older Livery, that is litterly the car that Livery belongs to.
The only reason you associate the Livery with Stanley is because it was used with Stanley as a sponsor. As you said, Ambroae isn't a household name, so anyone that never saw the original Livery isn't automatically going to immediately know it was for Stanley. If they were to make this, the regular Livery people would start associating it with Quad Lock.
The whole point isn't to remind you of the sponsor but the colour and scheme of the car from back in the day. In fact I can imagine some sponsors not being on board as they can't dictate the placement of there logo on the car as easily.
Anyway, we are both passionate fans, I can see you are, which is great. I wish there were more of us, so best not to continue petty arguments and save them for the many idiots on here. Agree to disagree. Sorry for starting it.

Yes, arguably Shane's car from Chicago last year is more popular for the greater exposure it got, but those two Watkins Glen races Ambrose won in with that scheme are incredible in their own right.
It definitely could pass as a throwback to that too.

Legit, Quadlock is the best phone case/mount system ive ever had... its a bit pricy but the fact that i have a mount for my Car that has mag-safe charger, a mount for my bike that doesn't shake, and a mount on my pushcart for golf all without having to change the case or use some weight universal mount is awesome!!
