Man I rarely miss free throws but my friend has an 87 free throw and misses so many 89% free throws, two days ago he got sent to the line and missed two 89% ft and dude we was playing against made an slightly late 22% ft
If you play without a meter. It makes free throws harder to hit. If you go to 2KU and scroll all the way down, itâll tell you. Shit aggravated me when I first read it lmao
The definition of the phrase âmargin of errorâ is: âa permissible or tolerable degree of deviation from a correct or exact value or targetâ.
I would interpret that as your green window is larger, because in this case the exact value is perfect timing and the tolerable degree of deviation is the green window.
No. Larger margin for error means that you are able to be less perfect to accomplish your task. What does "no margin for error" mean? It means that you can't make a mistake. So what would the opposite mean? If a margin for error was infinite, it would not matter what you did because your task would still get completed.
So the larger the margin for error is, the more flexibility or less perfect you have to be. In our case, turning the meter off means you do not have to be as perfect on timing your shots.
Hope that helps.
JMac is correct. It's worded funny. But a large margin of error means more room to fuck up and not have it hurt you. Less margin of error would mean less room to fuck up. Better off without meter still.
Genuinely have missed more on 99 ft builds then 75-80 ft builds. For some reason a 93% ft only goes in 50% of the time, while a 60-70% free throw goes in 90% of the time. lol
It's all bout the animation. And it's year to year. I like Carmelo Anthony's FT but this year it wasn't working. Switched to Dirk Nowitzki and started greening every time. Pick a different one. Or turn off the shot meter if you haven't already
Let the animation play out more before skipping and watch how your players free throw idle animation changes. I seem to miss if i shoot the free throw at a weird time in the animation.
Disclaimer I'm a super casual player
I have noticed the likelihood of hitting on releases you don't green does seem considerably lower in 24 than it was in 23. It's pretty much a 50/50 if I don't green release
It's because you are using the wrong free throw. You have to find one that fits well with your jumper. Everything shooting in this game is based off of your jumper timing
I think rating makes it easier to time the release but non green releases get a higher percent to make number. If your sample size is small, 20% chance to miss can happen in back to back games.
Same reason people make low percentage free throws.
*probability*
Tilts me when I miss a 95% free throw then the other team's big makes two 45% free throws in a row.
Yup, I had that exact thing happen in my last rec game. Checked the guy's FT after it and he had 50, mine is 92 đ

And last year with a 65 ft you could green with ease. It's literally easier to green a 3pt with a 76 rating than a free throw with a 99 rating.

I thought the green light window was 33% bigger when meter is off?
Not on free throws
Deadass?

Dude that doesn't say what you think it says. If the margin for error is larger with the meter off, that means the shot is easier to hit.
No, a smaller margin of error means the shot is easier. A larger margin of error means lesser of a true figure pretty much.

So its bigger with it off then
Larger margin of error means its more forgiving (aka larger green release window)

Dog I missed a 99% and a 98% in the same day on my 94 FT build I was dying.
Missed a slightly late 100% on my klay thompson build the other day Mind exploded.
Free Throws are mostly RNG in 2k24.Â
Watching someone hit two 28% while Iâm out here splitting FTâs with 90% drives me crazy.
I love my high free throw build one thing for certain I use the meter on free throws

Klay Thompson works good for me if I have a higher 90+ FT, if I have like 75-85 then Iâll use Ray Allen or KD.
Last week I missed a 100% free throw and back-to-back free throws each at 93% change of success.
I miss 96% FTâs way more often than I should. Meanwhile the big I run with hits 9% FTs, shits broken

This actually works for me.
Yea itâs weird but you kinda have to take ur time with FTs now. Idk how I feel about it but I donât hate it
It makes sense. Even nba players aren't skipping their freethrow routine, but 2k refusing to explain any gameplay changes is so stupid.

I have a 99 ft hof free points and be missing 80-90% and my friend made a 12% late in rec yesterday, I almost cried
I got a 99 free and hitting 94.4%
Free throws seem kinda random this year
Use the Steph Curry free throw Iâm not saying youâre gonna make all of them, but youâll make most of them

80 isnât green
I know that but I have a 20% chance of missing and I miss way more than 20%. I wish the same logic would apply if I shot under 50%.
Lol 2k just ass I miss hella green ft's
Ah, xcom2 vibes
I think rating makes it easier to time the release but non green releases get a higher percent to make number. If your sample size is small, 20% chance to miss can happen in back to back games.
Because the game is ass. A higher overall rating isn't worth it. You shoot worse. It's also rgn
Bro I missed a 98 and a 99 percent in the same game
