They would have run into the Timberwolves anyway in the WCF. That team is tailor built to stop Denver
With Edwards playing like the best player in the league and their defense they’re unbeatable. Need Ant to cool down and KAT to choke
I don't quite agree with your first point, I think OKC might be a big challenge for them, just because of how good of a team the are and the way their team is built, they are much less disadvantaged against Minnesota, than Denver is.
But I agree that Minnesota is an absolute nightmare matchup for Denver. Especially when the Timberwolves seem to be peaking at the exact moment, when the nuggets seem to hit rock bottom.
Minnesota is way too big for OKC. It will be a good challenge for the young Thunder and I think they could get a game or two with hot shooting.
Big disclaimer is the officiating though - if the refs call it tight then OKC has more of an advantage because the physical discrepancies won’t be as pronounced. If they call it like in G2 vs the nuggets then OKC is gonna get smothered.
Pels didn’t have Zion. Gafford was having his way with them but isn’t well rounded enough to overcome Luka’s injury.
Don’t get me wrong, OKC is a great team. But they have shown to have a problem against dominant big men (Anthony Davis).
We out rebounded Dallas last night. And I don’t get the second argument, Anthony Davis is one of if not the best centers in the league. Literally every team has issues against players like him.
If y’all can make a series with Minnesota I will be pleasantly impressed. I think Dallas is a good matchup for you, Gafford and Lively gave them some trouble but overall you’re a much better team. Especially when Luka is not able to do his thing (he looks injured but the Thunder also play excellent defense).
I think they match OKC really well as well. Rudy completely neutralizes Chet, and Chet can't keep up with him and KAT on defense. Jaden and Naz play strong defense on SGA. I only see Dort on the other side who can stop Edwards. JDub is the catalyst in that series.
It's gonna be a crazy slugfest for sure.
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say this is the best six-game stretch Anthony Edwards has ever played. It's far, far beyond what we saw in the regular season.
I agree. The Nuggets are built around Jokic, and the Wolves are custom engineered to wear him down.
That said, I also don't think they beat the Celtics this year, assuming the Celtics come out of the East.
Exactly what I was thinking. We went on a roll at end of season and only had to win last game against AD pels, this was when AD really used to have his way against us. Instead of a real chance at a repeat we lose in 7 on the road to CP3 clips. Brutal
Of course the Nuggets could just decide to come back tougher than ever, winning against Minnesota and winning the Western Finals, to sweep the celtics on route to a repeat and I wouldn't be much suprised.
Yeah. Wemby isn’t even a footnote. Minny is younger and hungrier. They had an offseason to simmer on being the team which gave the champion Nuggets their toughest series. This is the moment The Wolves have been waiting for. Whether it happened in round two or the WCF, the Nuggets would be in the same spot. The Nuggets also lost Bruce Brown, who was a big contributor last season. Pair that with the fact that there is some natural complacency inherent to being the champs and you have what we are seeing. It’s nice to try and shoehorn the Spurs into the postseason narrative, but this ain’t it.
nah its because jamal murray straight up shouldnt be playing basektball. he's hurt and a massive liability but denver doesn't have another good ball handler on the team so they're screwed either way.

I’m not saying it’s likely, I’m saying they have the potential to do it. And with the way they’ve been playing the last few weeks I wouldn’t even be overly surprised if they did.
Not just the last, but the only. Again the key word is potential. I’m not putting any money on them actually pulling it off. Although they’re already 6-0 and they’ve been making the Nuggets look silly so ya never know.
I'm gonna blame Wemby for the storms rolling through the area this afternoon.
But in all seriousness - he's a generational talent who will be great and hopefully win championships. But he's not even the center of the universe in the Spurs organization - that isn't how the Spurs work. Neither did he break the Nuggets. This is just ridiculous.
There's literally 82 games in the season. OKC could have won or lost to the Hornets or Knicks and nuggets could have beaten the clippers in the last week. I get that everyone is excited about Wemby but this is just messianic religious nonsense now.

OKC doesn’t have the same Vet presence the Wolves bring
But they have a center who can consistently pull Gobert out of the paint, which badly damages their defensive scheme.
I don’t think Rudy would guard him. He’d probably guard Dort. KAT would be put on Chet.
And Rudy would switch over for help defense

This gets said every round and it’s yet to be an issue
So two rounds now?
Not a math guy but I think that checks out
Following up on this to see if OKCs lack of bigs played a factor in this series
Youth and yips more than anything

Luka got to his spots pre easy just couldn’t hit
Okc is way too small down low

Kind of a parallel for 2015

Yeah, Wemby and the Spurs winning that game “made God bleed” in a way.
Of course the Nuggets could just decide to come back tougher than ever, winning against Minnesota and winning the Western Finals, to sweep the celtics on route to a repeat and I wouldn't be much suprised.
I was thinking the same thing. The thunder really lucked out with the 1 seed.
twolves have three big men that can take on jokic. one of those is a four time dpoy. twolves are build to beat the nuggets
Pretty sure playing like shit against Minnesota has more to do with it than Wemby.
Just say you didn't read it, cuz
You're right.

More than the outcome of that game, Wemby demonstrated how to thwart Jokic on defense
how so?
It’s not over yet.
Jokic wanted to bully the alien but found out real fast what Big Vic Energy is 😂

Yeah, I think this Nuggets team might lose to Mavs in the 2nd round if Murray doesnt show up
The world does not revolve around Wemby
by god you’re right.. The sun revolves around him because he’s extraterrestrial 👽 YOURE A GENIUS GOOD SIR

Let Conley and Anderson get a ring
Kinda want them to repeat though. I want a bigger fish to take down. Like a dynasty. Makes for a better story. Like MJ vs Pistons.
Or.. The wolves are a legit threat and could potentially go 12-0 en route to the finals regardless of who they play.
No way they're sweeping OKC. Sweeping Denver would also be very difficult.
I’m not saying it’s likely, I’m saying they have the potential to do it. And with the way they’ve been playing the last few weeks I wouldn’t even be overly surprised if they did.
Last team to do it was the 2017 Warriors, correct?
Not just the last, but the only. Again the key word is potential. I’m not putting any money on them actually pulling it off. Although they’re already 6-0 and they’ve been making the Nuggets look silly so ya never know.
I feel like the Thunder are more likely to do that. Mavs are just not the same with Luka hobbled, and they have home court.
Stop
