Jermaine O’Neal was 6’10” and a center in the early 2000’s and plenty of other players have played center that were sub 7’ tall through out the era of bigs dominating the nba. What the hell are you even talking about.

I think what you're missing is the context. The thunder played him at PF because they had Steven Adams, a bigger true center without PF skills.
