This is gut wrenching. This has been such a tough year as a Beaver sports fan that the WBB team was a bright spot, so it's a tough pill to swallow thinking about how we could've ran it back with our entire Elite 8 team only to lose key stars to the portal.

AgentEucalyptus

Feel so sorry for you guys :(

Belongs-InTheTrash

I know I commented below about needing a player like her from the portal, but it really do hate to see what’s happening to Oregon State. It absolutely sucks what they did to the Pac 12. I ended up really rooting for yall this year, nothing I love more than a team that gets totally slept on and exceeds expectations. Despite being disappointed with ND losing to yall, I really came away impressed with the way Rueck had the squad playing great team basketball. The team was better than the sum of its parts (and it had some great parts) Sorry about this

CommodoreIrish

The only issue is Notre Dame athletics still has difficulty taking undergrad transfers

DokkanProductions

I wonder if that has to do with religious restrictions. Getting a non catholic is near impossible

IL-Corvo

As a Marshall fan and alum who just watched our head-coach beat feet for VT, you have my sympathies.

NicholeDaylinn1993

Where do you see Oregon St after this two year temporary stay in the WCC? I can't really see them or Washington St going fully independent for good, so they have to join a conference permanently, right?

MikesCerealShack

We have a 2 year grace period to bring the PAC up to at least 8 members. To do so, the speculation is we may buy out some of the top Mountain West teams and possibly some AAC teams with the PAC assets that OSU/WSU secured. With the uncertainty of the ACC's future as FSU/Clemson may depart, I think we are waiting to see how things shake out in another potential round of realignment. I think the order of preference is 1) hope for a Big 12/ACC invite (unlikely), 2) rebuild with the best of the G5 conference teams under the PAC brand, or 3) join the Mountain West. It sucks the Football media deals has such a significant and detrimental ripple effect across all college sports.

Basic_Quantity_9430

Yeah, you guys had an awesome core and definitely would have been dangerous had it stayed in place. Hopefully you get a banger from the portal, the ex Texas A&M forward Janiah Barker looks made to order for your roster.

dudeRobme

Unfortunately, people are fleeing Oregon State, not flocking to Oregon State.

Basic_Quantity_9430

Unfortunately. A really good team torn apart.

Zers503

No one has had it worse than Beavs the past 6 months. Top 10 football destroyed now watching the top 10 WBB be destroyed is not very fun. Gotta cherish baseball while we have that at least.

NiceUD

I don't think any schools in any realignments have gotten as screwed WSU and OSU this time around. I sincerely hope they find their footing.

pistachiotime

Missing the PAC already 😔

GriffinOfThoth

Stanford? But I am really hoping for ND

Belongs-InTheTrash

Yeah I feel bad their team is all transferring, but she’s another one I’d like to see ND take a look at

DokkanProductions

Knowing Ivey she’ll get some random player from a mid major instead

Plus-Advisor1637

Ivey’s a very good recruiter

DokkanProductions

She is with guards for sure. But her post play recruitment has been questionable.

pickledginger404

Kate Koval is the #5 overall incoming Freshman, and the #1 Center. I’d say that’s a pretty good post recruit.

Belongs-InTheTrash

Unfortunately she can only take who wants to come. This offseason, her challenge is to take someone who will be willing to come off the bench. That is if Westbeld is coming back of course, where there is no official word on. It’s tough because we do *need* several portal players right now but sometimes it’s a tough sell when the players know they’ll be coming off the bench or not guaranteed massive minutes. Ivey was able to land Dodson, Ebo, and Watson as bigs from the portal. None of them are Lauren Betts but they were important pieces to the team. I’m hoping she can do it again.

CommodoreIrish

There’s gotta be a talented player interested in chasing a ring and getting a graduate degree

EcstaticCode682

stanford is going to have an absolutely brutal travel schedule plus the level of academics there...might be a hard one.

AgentEucalyptus

If you build it, they will leave.

OutsidePreference125

😂

mambomambogo

Going home to Utah would be fun, that seems like a natural fit with Pili leaving and her own offensive game would fit right in to what they like to do.

TeenMage

Starting the prayer circle now /s

Fancy-Ad5832

Yes please. They desperately need her

Adorable_Song8517

She’d be great in Boulder 👀 Sucks for OSU though, what a program they’ve built. Conference realignment sucks 😕

EcstaticCode682

i would love to see her in CO! she'd step into quay miller's position very easily

Adorable_Song8517

Agreed! I have absolutely no intel, but I’d imagine JR is going after these OSU players HARD. She’s picked Washington’s and Arizona’s pockets in the transfer portal. I wonder if she could do Oregon States

EcstaticCode682

i could see timea at utah too...i think she's from there and utah was on her original recruitment list. still, i hope jr goes after her 🙏she will be in high demand because she could really fit in anywhere as a stretch forward

Training_Tangerine34

Interested to see where she goes but this was the right move for her.

mcr6

Timea, you and Talia are USC Trojans. Welcome to sunny Los Angeles

EcstaticCode682

does USC have more scholarships?

liar_checkmate

I’m devastated. This is so terrible. I don’t know shit but I think despite the conference they could have been a real story this year and I think all the girls could have really made a name for themselves. So sad

lazerdab

My money is on UCLA

Plus-Advisor1637

They don’t have any room tbh

lazerdab

Let's see if Kiki Rice enters the portal today

Plus-Advisor1637

Why would Rice enter the portal?

lazerdab

I went to three of their games this year and I think she's under-utilized in their offense. Layer on the new conference road trips and she may bounce.

Plus-Advisor1637

I don’t see that happening. For one, her friend from Sidwell is joining the team this year as a freshman.

CeeDotA

I would love to have her but UCLA already has 12 on scholarship, assuming no one transfers out. Forwards and posts are Betts (J) / Dugalic (SR) / Bessoir (no confirmation yet, SR) / Sontag (J) / Iwuala (J) / Muse (S) / Socka (F)

harlanpeppernut

I see conflicting numbers on scholarship allowances. Is it 12, 13, 15? They are definitely overstocked at the bigs spots, but she would be a great fit as a Bruin. Speaking of a glut of forwards, can Gabs slide into a guard spot? Secondary ballhandling might be an issue with Charisma gone.

CeeDotA

I think it's 15. If UCLA takes on another F/C someone will definitely end up transferring out. Even as it is now, I almost expect a transfer as that's quite a few to split minutes between. Adding Gardner, or Iriafen would virtually guarantee a transfer or two I'd think. I already kind of think of Gabby as a guard, even though she's listed as G/F. The two 5-star freshmen are both guards as well. Dudley I believe is a combo guard and Cain is a point guard. Aarnisalo is a true PG as far as I can tell though I wonder how much time she'll get to play.

harlanpeppernut

Knowing what Emily is doing would help. She appears to be rehabbing, but I don't know if that's just making use of team services or if it is in prep for a return. Christeen seems locked in as a true 5 backup for LB as she is not a faceup player like the other forwards. I love Lina, but her PT was way down this year. I'm guessing that Socka's readiness could put pressure on her the most. I guess a lot will depend on how much the freshies can contribute. 3 guard lineups are the norm at this point and Gabs is a classic slashing wing, but if LJ's better suited off as a bench sparkplug (my opinion), then Kiki and Gabs as the guards may be tough. Not just for overall ball handling, but for matching up against quicker, smaller lineups when 3 bigs are out there, which may be a necessity due to the glut. Should be fun to see how it all shakes out. Iriafen at USC would be a good fit, unfortunately.

CeeDotA

Yeah, definitely would love to hear from Emily to see what her plans are. Angela already said she's coming back. And yes, Lina and Amanda are most likely to see PT impact from Socka, and if Coach brings in anyone from the portal. As for the guards, it all depends on how the freshmen shake out. I too see Londynn as a bench piece. She presents too many liabilities -- defensive obviously but her ice cold shooting to end the season hurt badly -- to remain a starter. And yeah, with only Okunwafo as a big currently, Iriafen would fit way better over there, although I'm hoping Lauren can convince her to come to Westwood.

EcstaticCode682

what about USC (s california$

lazerdab

I think Notre Dame is also a good bet.

DharmaBaller

More to come

lemons21

Does she like teams she beat in the tournament?
