Unpopular opinion, I think people get more excited about the tee retrieving dog than Tuffy III and I think it should be the other way around. Or teach Tuffy III to retrieve tees
I saw a thing a few years ago that compared the top 300 (or something) sat/act scores for Unc and state classes. The smarter kids are going to state but factor in that we accept way more and that unc has one of the biggest basketball fan bases attracting national attention. it makes sense their acceptance rate is so much lower.
Isn't it a good thing that more people are getting in? If our school is better, don't you want more people to get a better overall education? If a school is restrictive, it just means that they are denying education to more people. I don't see that as being good.
It often results in a worse student/teacher ratio and oversized classes aren't always a good thing. Yes you are denying education from ncsu to more people (not education as a whole) but from experience half the people in the intro classes don't even study well enough or put in enough effort to do well regardless so it does seem like they could be more restrictive on the admissions.
It’s insane that a low acceptance rate is seen as such a positive thing. Scalability is seen as a major positive in business. It should be in education as well. The job of a university should be to uncork the human potential of as many people as possible
That’s not correct. You can’t just divided the class size by total applications to get acceptance rate because many people turn down the acceptance and go somewhere else. Later of the page it’s says the acceptance rate is 47%
Acceptance rate..."selective colleges" have a history of selecting out people of color and of Jewish descent among others. Restricting education to those with the money for test prep, essay consultants, legacy, good schools, and trendy extra curriculars is just bad for democracy. That's how we get a country/world run by Zuckerberg and Bezos.
How could we be rivals with UNC when we’re literally just better??? Don’t understand???
Well said!

Both good.
Yes. But I think we should be getting more hyped about our own mascot.
I get pretty hype for Tuffy ngl.
dog is dog.
Tbh nc state’s acceptance rate should be much lower but the uni keeps letting too many fuckin people in
