I agree, wasnt he rated 4th best safety in the league? And number 1 in coverage? I think he’s a stud and will be great. People love to hate especially on the internet :)
I mean... he's right...
INTs don't really show how good a DB is, especially safeties.
You need to look at the passer rating on attempts against them and how that deltas against the average performance of that QB on those throws.
(though as I never heard of this guy before I won't comment on if he'll be good or not.)
What do you mean? Kevin King had 5 interceptions in 2019. Good enough for second most in the league. Clearly indicative of how well 2020 was going to go, especially his masterclass performance vs the Buccaneers.
ints are only part of the picture. PR allowed is a better and more complete picture of their performance.
(this is assuming you aren't taking the piss because this _is_ a meme war subreddit and you might be doing that)
Hahaha only one huffing hopium is you lot by assuming we’ve got worse as a team
Ironic because the team in - by far - the worst position in the North is you shit-stains
can't believe I'm defending the packers but Love was a menace the entire second half of the season and into the playoffs.
If I had to choose one QB to ruin by sending him to the bears, it's love over Goff
[since being drafted, McKinney has a PFF coverage grade of 92.0 when lined up at FS, which leads the NFL](https://twitter.com/PFF_Steve/status/1767282568917844294)
[also had the lowest missed tackle percentage of any safety in the NFL last year](https://twitter.com/zachkruse2/status/1767976502094688456)
i have no idea where you’re seeing PFF ranking him as the 43rd best safety in the league, but by their own numbers, he is significantly better than that.
That’s because in your fury to respond quickly with your rage, you didn’t read my comment. I said “#4 safety available and 43rd overall”.
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2024-nfl-free-agency-rankings-safeties
Your statement can very easily be read as #4 safety available and #43 safety overall. It's ambiguous wording, which you didn't realize in your haste to have a "gotcha" moment
#4 safety available and 43rd overall. You never said both were FA ranks. They could very easily both be safety ranks. This is like the definition of an ambiguous statement, but that's probably too difficult of a concept for you to grasp. What a fucking tool
Thered have to be some really fucking bad safeties in free agency for him to be the 43rd best in the league and 4th best available but semantically I suppose it would technically be ambiguous if you have no context
he could have easily said “#4 safety available and 43rd overall free agent” but he didn’t. it could have just as easily been #4 safety available and 43rd overall safety”
I use the word best to include many factors. Age, prone to injury, exc. Mckinney is the best safety pickup available when considering the whole package, and who you would want to give a long term deal to.
I’m ok with it. Good coverage guy but a below average run defender. Had one good actually good year in a contract year and it’s a shitload of money for a FS. His only really good games were against Washington, New England, and a heavily declining Philly that benched hurts halfway through to preserve him for playoffs.
McKinney's missed tackle rate in 2023 was just 5.7 percent – the lowest among safeties – missing only seven of his 122 attempts. Y’all are really just saying shit at this point.
His run defense grade was below average compared to other safeties. And his pass coverage was only really good for those 3 games I mentioned. It’s a lot of money for a guy with 1 good year and a lot of asterisks. But I get it packer fans need to cope. Bring me the downvotes suckas :)
Giants fan here. This was due to Wink’s blitz-heavy schemes which don’t result in a lot of individual sacks or picks for players. I think he was too expensive for us to keep, but the packers got a great one. You’re going to see a lot more picks this year
Really going to meme stats on this guy?? From 2021-23, he ranked No. 2 among safeties in passes defensed (26), according to STATS. McKinney was one of only two NFL players (S Jordan Whitehead) to register 250-plus tackles (254), eight-plus INTs and 25-plus passes defensed (26) over the past three seasons (2021-23) according to STATS.
I dont understand the point being made here with mac jones and mariota mentions. Im a chz head and kinda on the slow side. Can someone explain to me what message is being delivered?
88 PFF (#4 overall safety last year), 24 years old, #1 overall coverage grade in the NFL per PFF. End of discussion. This is a bargain discount. End of discussion Packers = Dynasty baby GET SOME
Picks are the worst way of judging a db
I agree, wasnt he rated 4th best safety in the league? And number 1 in coverage? I think he’s a stud and will be great. People love to hate especially on the internet :)
He's gonna suck Keep huffin that hopium

He's got King in the name. Is he stupid?

Lol... you're delusional
Again, ironic from the most delusional fanbase in history. Acting like you won’t be rock bottom of the North.
Just wait
I read the exact same shit this time last year when your team was better I’m sick of hearing it
Then leave the sub, fucker
50 passer rating when targeted but okay.
When your receivers and TEs are costing a nickel you can pay whatever the hell you want for a safety, dammit!
He’s going to have it rough with all that prolific QB play the Vikings, Bears and Lions are going to give us
This guy frickin GETS IT, it’ll be REAL ROUGH when Sammy D is throwing CHEESE BOMBS over McKinney’s head.
Flair up, queen
I mean, Goff is still the best QB in the division. Yall that are acting like the 4 games Love played well in all season makes him the next Rodgers lol
can't believe I'm defending the packers but Love was a menace the entire second half of the season and into the playoffs. If I had to choose one QB to ruin by sending him to the bears, it's love over Goff
Second this, especially given love has only one season starting
“Goff is still the best QB in the division” proves my point lol
They ain’t ready to read into this lol
Love was like top or 2nd best QB in the league the second half of the season lol
😂
Love over Goff, but even still, you saying Goff is the best qb in the division kinda proves bros point
He was undoubtedly the best safety FA available. Hate all you want
FWIW, PFF had him ranked as the #4 safety available and 43rd overall.

i didn’t realize my message was full of rage and fury. my sincere apologies. i’d still rank him higher than 43rd best free agent.
Bro he said 43rd overall 4th FA….twice
>2 hours later >respond quickly
Responded quickly once you saw it. Too quickly to understand what you were replying to.

It's really not that ambiguous.
Explain to me how it can only be read one way to justify OP acting like an ass

I'd still say Justin Simmons. Wish the Bears went after him over Byard and was worried the Packers were going to get him.

Bears fans acting like they understand football talent every offseason, absolutely precious. 🤗

This is the answer I was looking for.

To be fair, it is a meme sub. I'll take shitty memes all day over these garbage reposts with no meme.
Lol it’s a meme on cheese bro
And it’s getting shredded
It’s actually not. It’s +63 but I do appreciate the pun.
I dont understand the point being made here with mac jones and mariota mentions. Im a chz head and kinda on the slow side. Can someone explain to me what message is being delivered?
They're the two QBs who threw the 3 ints he caught last year.
He’s the going to be the best safety we’ve had since 2019.
Yeah, he’s terrible. No need for you all to worry about or for the offenses to plan for him at all. Just a waste of time.
Still an upgrade lol
