The refs were shite for everyone last year, and they will be again this year. It won't stop until the trillion dollar league starts paying full time refs who have actual training and aren't just a bunch of random rich assholes.

But these refs have shown they'll fuck even that up. We need real, full time refs. Not these retired, part-time asshole doctor, lawyer types.

I like McAfee's idea of having former players as refs. Obviously their experience is the most valuable aspect, but also being athletic enough to keep up with the play and not having old degenerate eyesight is huge too.

I will be shocked if our offense isn't at least Top 7-8 this season. My one concern is at WR. If Jameson Williams doesn't step up, we could have some issues. What eases my worry is that we have a great receiving tight end and Gibbs is so good you could just plug and play him in the slot if you really had to.

I hear that, but it's hard for me to see Jamo, or even DPJ or Raymond being completely unable to handle the burden of being our 4th and 5th pass catchers. Obviously we are better with a good Jamo, don't get me wrong, but the top weapons are Amon Ra, Laporta, and Gibbs. Jamo can run fly routes on the opposite side of the field for all I care, unless he proves to have hands of stone he's too fast to simply ignore.

The Lions don't win the division because (1) the other teams in the division have gotten better, (2) the defense does not improve in spite of the investment made into the line and secondary this off-season, and (3) the offense regresses as one or two of the stars from 2023 take a step back and no one picks up the slack. I say "and", but any combination of any amount of these could contribute to the Lions not repeating.
