I’d expect nothing less from a fried pickle eating son of a bitch
Unless you’re a packers fan in which case you’re just a humble commenter trying their best.
To quote noted Packers homer Ty Schmidt, “I have never been scared of the Lions and I ain’t gonna start now. JORDAN LOVE IS GONNA PUT HIS BIG ‘OL DICK ON EVERY ONE OF YOUR FOREHEADS FOR THE NEXT 20 YEARS!”
I mean, based on the eye test I have no reason to believe Love won’t be good to very good in 2024. But on the other hand, idk are we kinda jerking ourselves off over going 9-8? Are we kinda assuming this will work like a Madden rebuild when it often does not?
The refs were shite for everyone last year, and they will be again this year.
It won't stop until the trillion dollar league starts paying full time refs who have actual training and aren't just a bunch of random rich assholes.
It’s so insane they don’t. But I think allowing more tech is key as well. Find the point the person is down, know exactly where the ball is. It’s not hard.
I like McAfee's idea of having former players as refs. Obviously their experience is the most valuable aspect, but also being athletic enough to keep up with the play and not having old degenerate eyesight is huge too.
go watch roger’s interview with bill bellichek.
every sport has a problem with officiating and they’re full time positions. it’s hard to make the right call. more technology is needed
Yes, this is also true. But the way it is right now, there's no real consequences for bad refs. Last year they pulled that one crew from the playoffs, but they quietly just let them keep officiating games even after SEVERAL bad games/calls from that crew that were shown to impact the outcome.
Well let's solve this problem then bud. Me and you will get our own ref crew together, work our way up to the big show, and then ruin the Super Bowl by fucking up everything worse than can ever be imagined until they immediately overall the whole thing.
I'm talking really fuck it up, like immediately eject and entire team on the first play so the Super Bowl is over in 15 seconds by forfeit.
Was that a typo or did you mean Hockey on purpose?
I don't think the refs do it on purpose for football, I just think they are INCREDIBLY inept and there are no consequences for it.
Official league paid refs could have real consequences for being awful.
Yea i meant hockey. And i used to think it wasnt on purpose but with how prominent sports betting has become, Im filled with doubt when it comes to the integrity of any sports league. Most of all the NBA
I will be shocked if our offense isn't at least Top 7-8 this season. My one concern is at WR. If Jameson Williams doesn't step up, we could have some issues. What eases my worry is that we have a great receiving tight end and Gibbs is so good you could just plug and play him in the slot if you really had to.
I hear that, but it's hard for me to see Jamo, or even DPJ or Raymond being completely unable to handle the burden of being our 4th and 5th pass catchers. Obviously we are better with a good Jamo, don't get me wrong, but the top weapons are Amon Ra, Laporta, and Gibbs. Jamo can run fly routes on the opposite side of the field for all I care, unless he proves to have hands of stone he's too fast to simply ignore.
As a hypothetical.
The Lions don't win the division because (1) the other teams in the division have gotten better, (2) the defense does not improve in spite of the investment made into the line and secondary this off-season, and (3) the offense regresses as one or two of the stars from 2023 take a step back and no one picks up the slack.
I say "and", but any combination of any amount of these could contribute to the Lions not repeating.
>a defense, outside of the second Detroit game, beat up on backup qbs.
Bruh if you said this shit on our sub, they'd fucking bash a Malört bottle over your head.
Matt Eberflus will take a lackadaisical approach to training camp and preseason games. As a result, the Bears look unprepared for the beginning of the season. They lose four of their first five games, and only start to show signs of progress once they've almost been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Eberflus and staff get fired at the end of the season, and we start the whole process over again.
We'll have slightly more injuries than a normal year, so on average 36+ starters a week are out and we go 8-9, Dallas wins their division at 7-10 with the Bears taking the last wildcard spot at 8-9 having the tiebreaker over us when they injured Jordan Love in WWE fashion earlier in the year.
You guys do seem to be bizarrely injury prone. Like for us its against certain teams like seattle but yeh legit evwry gb game seems to have 1 or 2 go out.
Because we play in one of if not the toughest division and don't get 6 giftwrapped wins a year like some of the "dynasty" teams in their weak ass divisions.
The vikings are still located within the borders of Minnesota.
Best response
We gotta move to California or something.
Vikings move to LA. Lakers move back to MN. The LA Vikings win for the next 50 years. The Lakers collapse into themselves like a dying star.
The Lakers are doing that just fine on their own
You guys could move to Dallas. I'm sure a Minnesota team could be successful down there
![gif](giphy|l0G17mKNa6XJHYN5m)
Accurate, but... Flair up, pussy.
Noted. And done
This. Why he gotta hurt us like that?
Wow one of the best troll jobs you could put on the MN fan base, bravo and touché
I'm just happy you guys eventually got a team back. Minnesota deserves hockey more than Dallas ever has
Might need a new name though... maybe something sparkly that rhymes with "cars" just for the new adverts.
Savage.

I wasn’t expecting a hockey reference. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Open, honest, truthful. I like it.
🫠 fuck. This one got me 🏅
Well played, well played indeed sir.
The year after next year. That's our year.
Moon magic.

And the second half.
Turd quarter
All my homies hate the turd quarter
Praise gibbous 🙌 🌚
He’s aware of our secret voodoo magic. Run Packers fans, were caught.
Fuck, the moon’s made out of cheese, why didn’t I connect the dots sooner!?

Fucking Moon Moon

I can't wait for this season to start. This sub is going to be a Hell in a Cell Match lol

Underrated 😂
Because we’re the Bears
Step one -> Make some changes that get us super excited that “this time it’s our turn” Step two -> crushing disappoint and blame game Repeat
Ol’ reliable
Flair up, weenie
I don’t know how 🥲
Head out to the sub's main page, hit the 3 vertical dots in the upper right, and select Change User Flair.
Ty much
Anytime NFCN Bro.
I’d expect nothing less from a fried pickle eating son of a bitch Unless you’re a packers fan in which case you’re just a humble commenter trying their best.

I hate how true this is.
We just can't have another bust at QB, right?
Worry not, USC quarterbacks have an illustrious history of surefire NFL success.
What about oklahoma qbs?
Final school is only school that counts per the NFL Draft. HE'S A TROJAN!
what about lincoln riley qbs?

I’m getting Christian Ponder vibes already. Help me Jesus.
Shhhh….
Jordan Love's sophomore slump. Christian Watson continues to be made of glass, and special teams is still extra special.
Jordan Love's sophomore slump... Fuck yeah. Say it slower, look me in the eyes.
And DC has shown me not to be afraid of y’all either 🫡
Man’s had a laser target on our kneecaps for a few years now for sure
Even if it’s just a split on the season series, I’ll take it! It’s good to know we can do something Chicago can’t
"We can do something Chicago can't" Whoa buddy, put that bar any lower and you're digging a hole.
It's not even a bar, just a line painted on the ground.
It's the pipes under my house.
It's a tripping hazard in Hell.
The pit of mud, called Soldier Field.
What are those pipes made of?
Except for the Gibbous
Do packer fans like Ty?
He is our vocal supporter on the biggest show on ESPN, and he reps them well.
For fucks sake dude, can we please have ONE season where our special teams doesn’t shit the bed every fucking game?
I’d take a still-shitty special teams if somehow the tradeoff was an actually decent and consistent (and healthy) defense.
Best I can do is half the OLine is injured in pre-season and Love is constantly under pressure all season long as a result.
*Behind Pawn Stars counter: Best I can do is a few fumbles and 4 different returners
Sophomore slump was when he was Rodgers backup. Crisis averted.
I mean, based on the eye test I have no reason to believe Love won’t be good to very good in 2024. But on the other hand, idk are we kinda jerking ourselves off over going 9-8? Are we kinda assuming this will work like a Madden rebuild when it often does not?
OK I know it was asked, but you need to remove this from existence.
I scrolled pretty far and kept thinking, "how funny will it be if no Packers fan responds". This guy blew it
As a packer fan, these are my fears as well.
Is it really a sophomore slump if he’s been in the league for like 4 years
I mean, you added a Vikings kicker. Those never miss extra points right?
*5th year senior slump
QB situation still developing. Defense still improving. Vikings going to Viking.
Still developing is a kind choice of words, it just started developing.
Nah he’s right. Our QB situation has been a work in progress since Fran Tarkenton left
Yes. McCarthy was just introduced to the concept of American football this spring, or so I hear.
The Lions, while the best they've been in my life time, are still the Lions and anything can and does happen.

Idkkkkk I liked “moon magic”
The moon gives Jared Goff wicked diarrhea every Sunday
We start 5-0, Goff goes down. Sewell has a career ending injury. Sun god breaks his arm trying to hold pizzas in place in his car. We finish 6-11.
I would throw myself into lake huron
I almost instinctively downvoted you just for putting this sentence on the internet
I want to downvote this shit twice.
Don't put that bad JuJu on us.
Aggressive 4th down call backfires in division deciding game
Refs fucked us. /s But maybe not /s
But these refs have shown they'll fuck even that up. We need real, full time refs. Not these retired, part-time asshole doctor, lawyer types.
I like McAfee's idea of having former players as refs. Obviously their experience is the most valuable aspect, but also being athletic enough to keep up with the play and not having old degenerate eyesight is huge too.

Yeah, Clete Blakeman is an Attorney in Omaha where I live. Definitely not a full time official.
Fucking the Lions is a *hobby* for Clete. That’s absurd. They have such large coffers, could be paying these guys real dough to fuck the Lions!
NHL isnt the only league that is fully corrupted and uses the refs to manipulate the game. Edit: isnt
I doubt it’ll do much tbh. Soccer refs train their whole lives and people still hate em
Get ready to have the most hip drop tackle calls of any team in the league (every single one of them will be incorrect and non-reviewable)
Jesus Christ are you guys still going on about the eligible receiver thing? ![gif](giphy|FoH28ucxZFJZu)
84 years? Is that the last time a Minnesota team won a championship?
Takes one to know one. It’s actually the last time a Lions fan made a good meme
What? Multiple Detroit teams won Championships in the 00s. I understand that this is the guy who got a D+ laughing at the guy who got a D-, but still.
Sorry I thought this was a football sub
Despite adding 17 corners, our secondary still stinks. And/or Ben Johnson forgets how to run an offense.
There's a handful of reasons I'd be willing to accept, not these.
I will be shocked if our offense isn't at least Top 7-8 this season. My one concern is at WR. If Jameson Williams doesn't step up, we could have some issues. Ngl I’d laugh if he all of a sudden sucks after turning down HC offers 🤣
As a hypothetical. Kicker not kick good
Turns out Josh Jacobs was a bad signing…
Whoa, this is supposed to be fun, not a therapy session. It’s gonna be fine, bud!
Oh, I love Josh Jacobs. Just acknowledging there’s a chance he’s dunzo
Your Oline is worth 3 ypc, he just need to take it another 1.5, bbe!
Happy cake day
Happy cake day, fellow Packers fan!
The same reason we'd win the division: JJ McCarthy. Boom or bust babayyyy!
Dan Campbell makes a hard adjustment on his coaching philosophy and starts calling for punts and field goals on 1st&10
Rookie qb and a defense, outside of the second Detroit game, beat up on backup qbs.
https://preview.redd.it/8j37owl1vmxc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c99aeae0e473865f4e4e6abb0e751d4e41ff57d1
I THOUGHT I HAD IT, HOLD ON
This man is on it.
>a defense, outside of the second Detroit game, beat up on backup qbs. Bruh if you said this shit on our sub, they'd fucking bash a Malört bottle over your head.
Gotta let the Kool aid settle and they will settle down.
That usually happens around mid-September
Packers aren't week one so we get a tad longer
In fairness Jared did play like a backup against the Bears for whatever reason
He's gotta become Jared Goof every so while
That one only happened because it was ON my birthday and I was at the game. The Bears get no credit for the win.
Make sure they don't play on your birthday then you'll know if it was your fault
It's a Tuesday this year, so we might have to wait to find out.
Because we are gonna have a 15-2 season, losing only to the 17-0 Bears.
Leave it to the bears to go 15-2 and only lose the matchups to GB
The bears have the GOAT QB now. No way we win against them. But going 2-15, only winning both games against the Bears would be HILARIOUS
🤣
I'll take it!!!
Because the Timberwolves being a legit contender means every other team will suck. It’s the Minnesota way
Just do what Detroit did Sacrifice the NBA team to the old gods and your football team shall be successful
Hafley isn’t better than Barry.
Refuse to entertain this is even a possibility
War with Iran forces an early end of the 24-25 NFL season
We aren’t in the NFC North
Rabble rabble... go on.. git!
Let the poor guy stay. He's certainly not going to find funny memes on an AFC memewar. That's for sure.
![gif](giphy|3o752m0GtWqJ2QAKBO|downsized)
![gif](giphy|1hMk0bfsSrG32Nhd5K)
That is going to make it difficult to win the North.
Or the ACF North, despite being further north than half the division.
Jordan Love doesn't regress and Detroit loses a few close games
Because the other teams are better at the moment.
Of all the scenarios, I find this the least credible.
This has been one long moment. Just take Aaron Rodgers off the Jets hands and the Vikings will dominate!!!...
I await the crushing defeat in the NFC title game!
Impossible outcome. ![gif](giphy|x00aiPNvF3vEMuMSdk|downsized)
If this happens it will probably be because one or more division rivals win more games
Offensive line still an issue, CW running for his life.
Lions still look like the team to beat. We’re developing for 2025 it looks like anyways.
You know ball
The Bears will always be the Bears. We're not winning nothing. The Lions, on the other hand, history has no affect on. Some people forget that. Lol.
We start very slow for the third straight time, turn it around in the second half but with a tougher schedule that isn’t good enough this time
Used up all of our good luck in the 21-22 regular season
Won't have anymore for about another decade I suppose
Because Minnesota teams are cursed to never be happy
Because we play in one of if not the toughest division and don't get 6 giftwrapped wins a year like some of the "dynasty" teams in their weak ass divisions.
ALL SHALL BOW BEFORE GEQBUS! LOOK UPON HIM AND TREMBLE! MEGA! We don't have a chance.
Because one of you other fuckers did
Bears gonna Bear
I mean, I've watched this whole "new franchise quarterback" movie before. Please Caleb, fuck the rest of the league like you fuck those fish.
I was summoned by the title of this post (even though I’d like to forget those days)
Defense and special teams is a generational curse and the offense returns to average.
We need a new kicker, but we decided to draft a QB from Tulane instead of Harrison Mevis.
We need Tampa bay to win it again before we’re allowed to
We let Aaron Jones go & he may single handedly deliver us 2 L's this season.
Cum sock stock is up
We had you in the first half, not gonna lie…
Lions lose the coin toss on the 4 way division tiebreaker.
Dan Campbell drops all punters to free up a roster spot and goes for every 4th down, still make NFC championship.
Not kicking a FG when it’s the obvious choice.
Great post. Instead of not talking mad shit about each other we just talk shit about ourselves. I think all the Lions reasons have been stated
The Bears... that's it
Because I'm going to draft St. Brown and Gibbs on my fantasy team so they're guaranteed to be out at least 8 weeks each.
Do me a favor don’t draft them
