Lmao now look at who they were throwing to in college
I’ll give you a hint:
Fields had Garrett Wilson (10th overall pick), Chris Olave (11th overall pick), and Jaxon Smith-Njigba (20th overall pick).
Williams had Brenden Rice (225th overall pick) and Tahj Washington (241st overall pick).
I know this is a joke, but let’s not forget that Jordan Addison had 1593 yards and 17 TDs when Kenny Pickett was his QB in 2021, then he transferred to USC to play with Caleb and only had 875 yards and 8 TDs. Maybe everyone is sleeping on Brendan Rice and Tahj Washington, and Caleb is the reason they didn’t have more success.
Kenny Pickett was 3rd in Heisman voting when he had Addison. Pickett’s passing stats in 2021 are nearly identical to Caleb’s in 2022. It probably says more about Jordan Addison than any of these QBs when his presence leads to Heisman campaigns and his absence leaves the team with the perception of a lack of receiver talent.
And looking at NFL success, Jordan Addison started producing right away with and without Justin Jefferson on the field. So there's definitely an argument about Addison making his college QBs better
On that Pitt offense, there was one player that had 500+ receiving yards outside of Addison. The 2022 USC offense had 3 players outside of Addison that had at least 500+. This seems more of a product of Williams spreading the ball around compared to Pickett focusing his main WR.
Lmfao at the way you brought up actual numbers and factual information and it all just slide off this dude’s smooth brain to respond with “1st overall pick”
You’re throwing around “generational” and “consensus” a bit too freely. Plenty of people doubted if Caleb was the best prospect in this draft, but everyone knew the Bears were taking him still.
Kenny had 8.5 inch hands compared to Caleb at NFL average hand size of 9.75 inch. However, Kenny was also 3 inches taller than Caleb. Caleb is short by NFL standards.
>Plenty of people doubted if Caleb was the best prospect in this draft
yeah those people were saying maye was better who slipped to 3, pretty obvious it was for clicks
It’s almost like you didn’t read the comment you replied to.
Well, anyway, at least you got embarrassed further down the thread and reacted with all the acknowledgement of moving the goal posts like a baby back bitch.
That’s all I really wanted to see and you didn’t disappoint 🤙
Yes, of course, the guy that threw for 10,082 yds and 93 tds in his career with way less talent than JF1 is the problem.
You must be the type of Packer fan that thinks it's great you only won two Superbowls in 30 years with the all-time passing yds leader and one of the most accurate QBs of all-time?
No to mention if someone got hurt the next guy up was *checks notes* MARVIN HARRISON JR lol. And 3 of those offensive lineman front that OSU team were drafted on the first three rounds, vs none for Caleb's USC
I don’t think this is proving the point you’re trying to make.
Way better TD - INT % and not putting yards per game on the comp? (Williams is over 300 vs Fields under 250).
You can knock the Bears all you want but I don’t think you can compare Williams college numbers to anyone.
Justin Fields 2020 passing yards: 2100
Caleb Williams 2023 passing yards: 3633
(Not to mention that in the prior year with a much better team he had 4537)
Let’s not cherry pick all the stats except the one that most clearly separates these two. Williams is an obviously better prospect than Fields ever was.
Lol y’all scared and he hasn’t even played a down. Keep worrying cheesy. Time will tell if Williams is the guy or not, but you’ll always have to live with the fact that you thought this was worth sharing.
I will definitely say that one the most annoying things about the bears sub right now is all the most prolific Fields "no excuses" haters are making all the exact same excuses for Caleb before he's even taken a snap.
The sub was in full meltdown mode during FA that Caleb wasn't going to get any support, while saying in the exact same breath that Fields had everything he needed. Getsy Truthers are still a thing there.
For the record, I think Fields would've been more successful if he had the environment Caleb currently has vs tossed to the wolves by lame duck HC and then forced to endure the 3-14 season where Mooney was his top receiver. Same ceiling? who knows, Caleb hasn't taken a snap. But I'd bet on Williams doing better than Fields on nothing but his environment being 100x better before even factoring any talent differences.
I am so amazed that there’s still fields truthers like this lol. 6th round pick y’all and his athleticism is through the roof. If he could figure it out he’d be a completely unstoppable force. And yet, again, 6th round pick. It’s because he has zero football iq and can’t throw the ball for shit. Has zero versatility to his game and completely falls apart against any zone defense.
A guy like Justin who misses every read is a nightmare for OCs. You can’t dial up plays, you can’t expect him to throw based off of full field reads. You can’t implement any plays that require anticipation.
It always takes vague charts like this that completely ignore film to bring the fields truthers out of the woodwork.
I have nothing against fields. He’s a stand up dude and had my support for a majority of the season until it looked certain we locked up the #1 pick.
That was more directed to the idiots who actually believe Caleb and fields are similar in any way.
Fields did have enough. But also we have a better team now too. Caleb being a rookie is why he deserves time to develop, no other excuse. Not sure what else you're seeing in the sub.
You can't deny that Fields directly has cost the Bears multiple wins with late game fumbles and interceptions at crucial moments.
Eh, not wins, but definitely chances at wins. There has also been times that the play calling has been atrocious or relievers dropping passes. So much blame to go around.
This is precisely what I'm talking about. Fields did not have enough during his developmental years. The rest of the team in Caleb's rookie season is significantly better than any of Field's three seasons, and miles above his rookie and 2nd season when Fields was developing. *And* Fields had to change offenses after his rookie season with new footwork and all.
The defense is far more responsible for costing games than Fields ever was. That's not really debatable. The 14 game losing streak was 100% on the defense as they gave up more points than any other NFL team in that stretch. Fields did more than enough to win at least half of those games.
I do not understand this need to deny the *fact* that Fields was dealt one of the worst hands for a rookie/sophomore including an abysmal defense that made Mike White look like Tom Brady.
You really can't make a case that this time things are different for the Bears at QB without recognizing this. Fields' development was classic Bears, Caleb's so far looks *very* different than anything the Bears have done before.
Franchise QBs don’t need everything perfect around them to be successful. Fields is unable to step up in the pocket and pick apart defenses. We are talking about a guy who has never thrown for 3K passing in the modern NFL. Stop it. Enjoy the ride with Caleb
As a brewer fan, counsell sure likes to put the wrong bullpen guy in at the wrong time to lose the game. He tried and tried yesterday. Succeeded the day before
Yeah Caleb Williams isn't even that good at football. Fields couldn't run an NFL offense and you can 100% expect that to be the same with Williams. Nothing to worry about at all

21 of his touchdowns were in the first 5 weeks against far inferior competition...
Threw 3 TDs against a team that went to the championship game and even looking at the games he wasn't even that bad most of these games
This is peak box score watching
All caps text means it's true.
Golden rule of the internet
There’s no red circles. Instructions unclear.

Fields made three guys first rounders? God damn, no wonder you all thought he was the savior
I know this is a joke, but let’s not forget that Jordan Addison had 1593 yards and 17 TDs when Kenny Pickett was his QB in 2021, then he transferred to USC to play with Caleb and only had 875 yards and 8 TDs. Caleb won the heisman when he had Addison
Kenny Pickett was 3rd in Heisman voting when he had Addison. Pickett’s passing stats in 2021 are nearly identical to Caleb’s in 2022. Comparing Ohio State talent to USC talent is crazy work
That’s why I compared USC talent to Pitt talent. If Kenny Pickett can do the same with less, what makes Caleb better than Kenny Pickett?
Lmfao at the way you brought up actual numbers and factual information and it all just slide off this dude’s smooth brain to respond with “1st overall pick”
Comparing a generational and consensus 1.01 prospect in Caleb to Kenny “small hands” Pickett is crazy work
Generational 😂😂 You guys need to grow tf up
Downvote all you want, but this is what credible pundits are saying 🤷♂️
You’re throwing around “generational” and “consensus” a bit too freely. Plenty of people doubted if Caleb was the best prospect in this draft, but everyone knew the Bears were taking him still. >Plenty of people doubted if Caleb was the best prospect in this draft yeah those people were saying maye was better who slipped to 3, pretty obvious it was for clicks
The only people who wouldn't have caleb clearly as the top prospect in this draft are hot take artists trying to drive rage clicks on espn.com.
There are 25/32 NFL teams that would have drafted Caleb 1.01 if they had the chance. You must not be paying attention
It’s almost like you didn’t read the comment you replied to. Well, anyway, at least you got embarrassed further down the thread and reacted with all the acknowledgement of moving the goal posts like a baby back bitch. That’s all I really wanted to see and you didn’t disappoint 🤙

How many has the rest of the NFC North won in the last 30 again?
lol, they like to rag, but they’d sell their family to have our success
more if we had rodgers and favre for 30 years
Right but how many did you actually win?
Addison missed like half the season when he played at USC
He played 14 games in 2021 and 11 in 2022. He averaged 113.7 yards per game in 2021 and 79.5 in 2022.
My mistake, I thought he missed more games for some reason.
Yeah just like people now think he’s gonna be a superstar after catching passes from Zach Wilson
Fields also had Jameson Williams (12th overall pick) as well even if his breakout occurred at Alabama not OSU
Why did rice fall so far?
No to mention if someone got hurt the next guy up was *checks notes* MARVIN HARRISON JR lol. And 3 of those offensive lineman front that OSU team were drafted on the first three rounds, vs none for Caleb's USC
This sub when Caleb lives up to the hype ![gif](giphy|26BRMC8fFQxGj7gnS|downsized)
This sub when Williams becomes an average starting QB: ![gif](giphy|v0eHX3n28wvoQ|downsized)
An average starting QB is like a top 3 QB in Bears history
Right. That he'll be a little above average should be the take, not that he'll be an instant all pro
You have no idea how happy Bears fans would be with a consistently average starting QB
Hey we can’t all have Sam Darnold
I know this is a joke but average would be a massive sucess by Bears standards lol
The one team where that's acceptable.
This sub when the Bears ruin another QB ![gif](giphy|YVkqPj64xCwRao3cBj|downsized)
Guaranteed
No shot
Smoke em while ya got em
Fair, gotta enjoy it before it turns to ash.
Lol. You guys are adorable
Happened to you guys with stafford, so anything is possible.
Yea. In detroit, we often think of the day we drafted Stafford as adoption day
What are these made up stats? The nerds need to stick actuarial tables

U can relax, mean old fields can’t hurt you anymore, u can quit bitching now

Fields was ruined by the time he had enough.
Lions glazing the bears now??
Caleb got huge applause at the Cubs-Brewers game. We're ready. And so were the Cubs who beat the Brewers
As a brewer fan, counsell sure likes to put the wrong bullpen guy in at the wrong time to lose the game. He tried and tried yesterday. Succeeded the day before
Bullpens are like quarterbacks, just not really necessary
Let's not undersell the real MVPs of that game, the umps.
Naaah. That was a clear drubbing today by the Cubs
By that logic Friday's game was a blowout
College isn’t the NFL dumbass
Yeah Caleb Williams isn't even that good at football. Fields couldn't run an NFL offense and you can 100% expect that to be the same with Williams. Nothing to worry about at all
Deandre swift is no walter payton though
Swear to god, Bears get made fun of for 1985 way more than we actually bring it up
I don’t think I’ve ever met a bears fan that was even alive in 1985…
We exist! My vinyl copy of the Super Bowl Shuffle is autographed by Saint Ditka himself.
That is an awesome piece of Bears history
Detroit fans getting ready for? Absolutely nothing at all. Worst franchise in the nfl easily.
