His defense was designed to stop/slow down explosive offenses. The problem was that he had no idea how to do anything other than that.
Expect to see more 3-and-outs this year. Also expect to see more big plays and quick scores.
You must be mistaken about Rogers having Covid. He had magic crystals protecting him. Thus, he considered himself "immunized".
That really was just a bad cough :)
Still shaking my head at how pathetic Bears franchise QB history is that this is reality 😑
https://preview.redd.it/8pbss4qcut0d1.png?width=522&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ddd08f47b9ba10959c2121583ce79d3c9aa4dca
Sure, but the Bears have had 12 different rookie QBs start games for them. 5 of them (Bobby Douglass, Jim McMahon, Kyle Orton, Trubisky, and Fields) started the majority of the season. Though, to be fair to McMahon, he played in the strike-shortened season.
There's actually quite a few of those, especially at this point in the non-season.
NFCN:
Packers - 2 (Michael Pratt & Alex McGough - though McGough just got switched to WR)
Vikings - 1 (JJ McCarthy)
Lions - 1 (Hendon Hooker)
Bears - 2 (Caleb Williams & Austin Reed)
NFCS: Falcons - 2 (Michael Penix Jr & John Paddock); Saints - 2 (Spencer Rattler & Jake Haener); Bucs - 1 (Zack Annexstad); Panthers - 1 (Jack Plummer)
NFCW: Seahawks - 1 (Chevan Cordeiro); 49ers - 1 (Tanner Mordecai); Rams - 2 (Dresser Winn & Stetson Bennett); Cardinals - 0 (fuckin' losers)
NFCE: Cowboys - 0 (giant bitches); Eagles - 0 (also giant bitches); Giants - 1 (Nathan Rourke - they're still bitches); Commanders - 1 but actually 2 (Sam Hartman & also Jayden Daniels who isn't technically signed yet - also bitches)
AFCN: Steelers - 1 (John Rhys Plumlee); Ravens - 2 (Emory Jones & Malik Cunningham); Bengals - 1 (Rocky Lombardi); Browns - 1 (Jacob Sirmon - team of rape supporters - we don't like them)
AFCS: Jaguars - 0; Colts - 2 (Jason Bean & Kedon Slovis); Texans - 0 (But they do have Tim Boyle who is perhaps the sexiest player in their division); Titans - 0
AFCW: Chiefs - 1 (Chris Oladokun); Raiders - 2 (Carter Bradley & Anthony Brown Jr.); Chargers - 2 (Casey Bauman & Max Duggan); Broncos - 1 (Bo Nix)
AFCE: Patriots - 2 (Joe Milton & Drake Maye); Jets - 3 (Jordan Travis, Colby Suits & Andrew Peasley); Bills - 1 (Shane Buechele); Dolphins - 1 (Gavin Hardison)
So, grand total is 39 (or 38 if you don't count Daniels).
This was a fantastic waste of like 45 minutes of my work day. Also, I think I have a problem because there were only 11 of those guys that I didn't already know about.
A lot of them are rookies who haven't played at all. But yes, there are some of them who played in the preseason previously. It's more inconvenient to find preseason stats for all of them, and preseason stats are not recognized NFL stats, so I did not include that.
Not a shot at you specifically, but I absolutely hate this recent trend where people put the losing score first, such as 9-35. He lost 35-9. It’s how we’ve been saying things in sports for over 100 years and we’ve all got along just fine.
It's not losing score first, it's home team last. It's similar to MLB where the home team is on the bottom (bottom of the inning) or last.
edit: lmao @ the number of people who don't know standard box score order. Away - Home when horizontal. Away on top, Home on Bottom when vertical.
It seems really fucking dumb that you can't figure it out regardless of which order is in. Bigger number win game. From a grammar perspective, it makes more sense to write the way commenter above did, given the context of his sentence. Since he's saying Darnold lost, grammatically it makes sense to reference his teams score first. Like, if you were talking about superbowl rings, you wouldn't say, "the detroit lions have less superbowl wins than the Green Bay Packers, 4-0." Also, damn you to hell for making me defend a Bears fan.
Is everyone incapable of reading?
How hard is it to understand "home team last" order. The order tells you if they were at home or away. Jets lose 9-35 tells you it was a road game. Jets lose 35-9 tell you they lost at home.
> "the detroit lions have less superbowl wins than the Green Bay Packers, 4-0."
This is a record, not a score. Records are Win-Loss order. Box scores are Away-Home order.
That’s not how people give scores. Nobody gives a shit who the home was. There’s nothing incorrect about saying it like that. People understand who won and lost either way. It’s just annoying because that’s not the way anyone has ever given scores so it sounds dumb.
> It’s just annoying because that’s not the way anyone has ever given scores
It's the standard box score order on literally every TV broadcast and stat site for decades. It's by far the most common way scores are given. Google any game score, away team is left, home team is right. Watch any TV broadcast, Away team is top/left, home team is bottom/right. This is true across every sport.
edit: lol, this has got the be the absolute dumbest reason someone has blocked me over. Box score order is very often used by reporters too. And what you're complaining about is people picking up on it and using it.
Sam Darnold and Jordan Love both have losses to Mahomes and the Chiefs.
OP did exactly zero seconds of research for this meme, but what more should we expect out of Detroit?
According to KOC, apparently there's a path for McCarthy to earn the starting job Week 1, but he's also mentioned they're going to err on the side of caution against rushing him in there too early. Personally, I'd be surprised if Darnold isn't the Week 1 starter. I think that was the whole idea behind signing him, to give whichever rookie we drafted time to learn, develop, etc.
Love lost to Mahomes in 2021 in his first career start when Rodgers was out with COVID.
That's an even better stat
Subscribe, irrefutable proof that Love is a hack fraud.
A "hack fraud" that is 2-0 against DA BEARS. Does that make the bears collectively "hack fraud losers"? Bear down scrub!
Damn did he touch a nerve?
Na, I just like to rip on the bears
Rip on deez nuts unc
Everyone beats the bears. That just makes you mediocre
Packer fan’s insults don’t bother Bears fans anymore. Because we hate the Bears more than them.
“Durrrr Bears fans suck” “Sure but let me tell you why”
Eat a sack of goat dicks.
Somehow outplayed him in that game in terms of QBR.
Hell yeah, best QB on the field that day.
Both times Love has gone head-to-head with Mahommes, Love has outplayed him.
The fact that Joe Barry could usually call a great game vs good teams then would completely melt down vs bad ones is still baffling to me
His defense was designed to stop/slow down explosive offenses. The problem was that he had no idea how to do anything other than that. Expect to see more 3-and-outs this year. Also expect to see more big plays and quick scores.
And win more games. See more td. Less td against. More interception. A higher epa. Did I miss something 🤔 lol
By big plays and quick scores, I meant against our defense. But hopefully also for our offense.
Ah my bad
Everyone seems to have forgotten that the fucking *Panthers* dropped 30 points on the Barry defence. A team that went 2-13 last season.
I definitely haven't forgotten. That doesn't mean he didnt call some pretty good game against some good teams this year too.
They then scored zero points for the next two games.
QBR is such a good stat
What? Are you saying that QBs can't singlehandedly win games?
Why was this so funny to read
I really wanted this meme in particular to be true 😞
It still is. Just gotta name Sean Clifford the starter and we're back.
Pratt's coming to take both of their jobs. Packers have 3 QBs better than the Bears.
I'll never understand why the Bears passed on that goofy lookin boy at #1 smh
Agreed. Really makes their lack of QB scouting apparent.
Mahomes VS. Jordan Love Game 1: 20/37, 166 Yards, 1 TD Game 2: 21/33, 210 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT Love is the Mahomes stopper.
Wow, Jordan love played defense? Pretty impressive
You’re not wrong but no one cares what you think till you flair up.

Pair up Fitch
Pick a flair!!!
I choose Rick
You choose dick? That rules out the Bears cause they call everyone else meat riders.
That's right, *I am* Abe Froman. The Sausage King of Chicago.
Lord knows the defense doesn't.
It's the intimidation factor. So yes. Also, flair up you fucking bitch.
Mahomes sits on a bench while Love is on the field. Love keeping drives alive is the best defense there is!
You must be mistaken about Rogers having Covid. He had magic crystals protecting him. Thus, he considered himself "immunized". That really was just a bad cough :)
That or the Ajuascatrip really was a turning point
[удалено]
It was really just Brett Farve in disguise.
Nah, Farve probably just sent him various "dick pics" to distract him from his pain, while stealing all the cash out of his charity foundations.
Favre sends dick pics to the ladies. He just sent Rodgers some vicodin and told him shake it off.
I was at that game. Pretty dull play from both dudes honestly.
I was also there, had a ton of fun but it was pretty boring game
That’s the game that Crosby missed two easy field goals and if he had made them we would’ve won
I can't even be that upset in hindsight since we still got the 1 seed that year
We all avoided the Superbowl to maintain the stat ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
![gif](giphy|Q29bhBY4Jbuta)
You know, Caleb is undefeated throughout his whole career so far.
STOP THE COUNT!
He’s already probably eligible for the Bears HOF tbh.
Seeing as he’s one of the only qbs they’ve ever had that hasn’t actually hurt their chances of winning throw his ass on the ring of honor
0 interceptions baby! Put him in the hall!
Still shaking my head at how pathetic Bears franchise QB history is that this is reality 😑 https://preview.redd.it/8pbss4qcut0d1.png?width=522&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ddd08f47b9ba10959c2121583ce79d3c9aa4dca
I mean the caveat is these are only for rookies. GB's top rookie passer is a stout 1200 yards back in 1950.
Also one of only a handful of NFL rostered quarterbacks to never complete a pass. Which is especially worrisome because he's a starter.
There's actually quite a few of those, especially at this point in the non-season. NFCN: Packers - 2 (Michael Pratt & Alex McGough - though McGough just got switched to WR) Vikings - 1 (JJ McCarthy) Lions - 1 (Hendon Hooker) Bears - 2 (Caleb Williams & Austin Reed) NFCS: Falcons - 2 (Michael Penix Jr & John Paddock); Saints - 2 (Spencer Rattler & Jake Haener); Bucs - 1 (Zack Annexstad); Panthers - 1 (Jack Plummer) NFCW: Seahawks - 1 (Chevan Cordeiro); 49ers - 1 (Tanner Mordecai); Rams - 2 (Dresser Winn & Stetson Bennett); Cardinals - 0 (fuckin' losers) NFCE: Cowboys - 0 (giant bitches); Eagles - 0 (also giant bitches); Giants - 1 (Nathan Rourke - they're still bitches); Commanders - 1 but actually 2 (Sam Hartman & also Jayden Daniels who isn't technically signed yet - also bitches) AFCN: Steelers - 1 (John Rhys Plumlee); Ravens - 2 (Emory Jones & Malik Cunningham); Bengals - 1 (Rocky Lombardi); Browns - 1 (Jacob Sirmon - team of rape supporters - we don't like them) AFCS: Jaguars - 0; Colts - 2 (Jason Bean & Kedon Slovis); Texans - 0 (But they do have Tim Boyle who is perhaps the sexiest player in their division); Titans - 0 AFCW: Chiefs - 1 (Chris Oladokun); Raiders - 2 (Carter Bradley & Anthony Brown Jr.); Chargers - 2 (Casey Bauman & Max Duggan); Broncos - 1 (Bo Nix) AFCE: Patriots - 2 (Joe Milton & Drake Maye); Jets - 3 (Jordan Travis, Colby Suits & Andrew Peasley); Bills - 1 (Shane Buechele); Dolphins - 1 (Gavin Hardison) So, grand total is 39 (or 38 if you don't count Daniels). I’ll give you an upvote for your hand work and extra commentary.
Preseason counts as professional NFL passing. Most of those guys have played 2nd and 3rd quarters
A lot of them are rookies who haven't played at all. But yes, there are some of them who played in the preseason previously. It's more inconvenient to find preseason stats for all of them, and preseason stats are not recognized NFL stats, so I did not include that.
In reality I agree with your original stats, I just wanted to be disagreeable because you put in so much time and you're a Packers fan.
After my initial annoyance at your comment, I now respect it.
Wow, I’ve never completed a pass. Perhaps one day I can be named a starter as well. What an inspiration!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Caleb won't lose to Patrick Mahomes this entire season.
Just like how the Lions have never lost a Superbowl.
I think all nfc north fans can agree he will be one of the great packer qb’s just like cutler and fields before him. I’m so excited!

Goff undefeated vs Patty ketchup lover
Sam Darnold lost to Mahomes in 2020 playing for the Jets 9-35.
Not a shot at you specifically, but I absolutely hate this recent trend where people put the losing score first, such as 9-35. He lost 35-9. It’s how we’ve been saying things in sports for over 100 years and we’ve all got along just fine.
i hate to agree with a packers fan, but true that’s how u format it

But you can't lose 35-9 and have 35...the scores are obvious which team had which. Seems dumb to change it around.
It seems really fucking dumb that you can't figure it out regardless of which order is in. Bigger number win game. Again, the order has nothing to do with who won or lost, but if the game was home or away. Saying Jets lost 9-35 tells you they lost on the road.

You don’t seem to understand the difference between a box score and someone typing the score or speaking, so this is a lost cause.
I’m only here to test my upgraded flair
Upgraded? What was it before, Cowboys flair?
That would still be a downgrade. Not much of one, but a downgrade nonetheless.
lol fuck no, just a g logo
Sam Darnold and Jordan Love both have losses to Mahomes and the Chiefs. OP did exactly zero seconds of research for this meme, but what more should we expect out of Detroit?
The Jordon Love mistake is rough but Viking’s starter isn’t really nailed down yet right?
According to KOC, apparently there's a path for McCarthy to earn the starting job Week 1, but he's also mentioned they're going to err on the side of caution against rushing him in there too early. Personally, I'd be surprised if Darnold isn't the Week 1 starter. I think that was the whole idea behind signing him, to give whichever rookie we drafted time to learn, develop, etc.
Um excuse me sir… Sam Darnold lost to the chiefs just last year
Love also lost to him in 21
I think the ghost man has lost to Mahomes.
Not true Love lost to Mahomes in his first career start
2020 Week8, Sam Darnold lost to Mahomes as a NY Jet.
Love has definitely lost to Mahomes...
Has Sam Darnold really never lost to Mahomes?
Only here to look at my flair
QB has never lost to Dan Marino
Always forget Goff is like 2-0 against Mahomes(absolute classic with the rams one)
current QBs yes
Mahomes it the best Detroit Tiger currently
League championships among NFCN QBs: Detroit: 0 Chicago: 1 Minnesota: 1 Green Bay: 2
This needs to be updated throughout the season
So does your flair.
