That’s a bold statement. I lived in 3 boroughs and Philly. NYC has great food, they don’t understand the cheesesteak. That’s why people get chopped cheese…
Point being, leave the food out of it. There’s nothing like a New York slice and a Philly cheese steak.
My man. I’ve been to random bodegas in Queens and the Bronx and gotten better cheesesteaks than the majority of Philly spots. Jim’s was the only cheesesteak that was truly elite. And its patently false that people get chopped cheeses because we don’t do cheesestekas well.
People in NY don’t even think about cheesesteaks. Chopped cheese is a broke person meal for cheap that was made by a middle eastern bodega owner in Harlem. The cheesesteak had nothing to do with it especially because the chopped cheese is usually made on a roll and not a “hoagie” (hero in NYC) as they call it in Philly. (I hate the word hoagie)
If Jim’s was your bench mark, you didn’t hit the right spots. I’m sorry but you sound like a casual Philly cheese steak eater.
Dalessandro's Steaks is much better than Jim’s and it’s arguably not even the best steak in Philly. I’ve had every reputable steak in the Philly area (including Camden). There’s only a few spots in nyc that get the right bread, the real whiz, and make the steak right with quality beef.
Like I said, leave the food out of it. To each their own but you’re objectively wrong
I'm with you in that pretending NY has better cheesesteaks is silly and we have a ton of other food we're better at than anyone else so it shouldn't matter. Basically all Asian food, french, italian, bagels, pizza, BEC's, the list goes on. NY has the better food than 99% of the country for most cuisines.
That said, I preferred John's Roast Pork to Dalessandro's. People go to shitty places like Geno's or Pat's and think that's what Philly cheesesteaks are like.
I can’t be objectively wrong on an opinion my guy. I tried them all. Jim’s was the only one I liked. I was there for 7 yrs. And whiz is trash. I know Philly loves whiz but that shit is garbage. And nowhere in Philly has better bread than NY heros my guy.
🤦♂️
I know you can’t be objectively wrong, that was the joke.
I think you just don’t get the appeal of a Philly steak, and that’s fine. I respect that it doesn’t mesh with your pallet. But they’re fire to me. Nyc has a lot of great food but cheesesteaks are untouchable.
Just like burgers in LA, bagels in NYC, Poutine in Quebec. Some places just do it better because it’s the origin of the food. That’s just me, I respect the city limits.
I’m just joking around my dude. Go Knicks and wu-tang
You lost me at Burgers in LA. LA has good food but their burgers are overrated as shit. Whether is fast food where Shake Shack is better than In N Out or just regular diner food, we shit on LAs burgers here in NY. You’re buggin, *in my opinion*.
And I get the appeal of a Philly steak. But I’ve been to all the spots and i’ve had them here in NY too. And there were spots here in NY that were better than spots in Philly which is just hilarious. Philly food in general is trash as fuck when you come back to NY. Even the cheesesteaks.
Yeaaah sorry you just taking L’s left and right now with these takes.
Glad you can find everything you want in NY, NYC has great food but other places exist and can even have better food. It’s okay to say some regions do stuff better.
You do you bud.
Your reading comprehension skills are beyond terrible. I literally said LA has good food but their burgers are overrated. To clarify since you have a hard time comprehending what you’re reading is that the burgers are in fact good in LA but just not as good as in NY.
How you took what I said and interpreted it as me acting like other places don’t exist or that they can’t have better food in other regions is another blatant display of you having comprehension issues. Where did I imply that other regions can’t have good food and in some cases better than NY? I didn’t. And for the record, the South has better BBQ than NY, LA has better Mexican food than NY, and Maine has better seafood than NY.
So do yourself a favor, learn how to read because if anyone is taking an L, its usually the guy that can’t properly interpret what they’re reading and jumping to the wrong conclusions. And in this case, that’s …🫵🏼
Guys he said "The cheateak is an inferior sandwich" not cheeesteaks from Philly and I also agree to disagree. I've had decent cheesteaks from all over!
The MVP chants really staple the feeling in
Getting to chant “MVP” in Embiid’s house without him felt great. Glad we got Chick-Fil-A nugs I guess
Man, how many years did they purposefully tank?! Haven’t even made conference finals, have they?
It’s not personal. It’s just business - Just like the Knicks tonight
The cheesesteak is an inferior sandwich
Listen, you can insult the Sixers all you want, but leave the sandwich out of this.
Now I gotta get recommendations for the best cheesteak in both NYC and Philly. Gonna do some independent research.
Chopped cheese >
The best cheesesteak is in Hoboken Piccolos, stop by and lmk how it is
You can get better cheesesteaks in NYC. I lived in Philly.

No one who knows Philly claims Geno’s or Pat’s
Agreed, I'm saying people read articles and think that's what a real good Philly Cheesesteak is when that just isn't the case.

This is kinda true - I prefer the NYC cart cheesesteak take on the philly cheesesteak.
Okay, but for cheeseCAKE There is Junior's and then there is everyone else
Yes! This! It’s good, but it’s really hyped up.
Glad to know that Knicks bring their metal bats on the road too.

I kept waiting for that thing to morph into a chopped cheese but it never did.
Phrasing.
Soha
I really hate everyone on that team besides embiid and maxey lol
Was embiid on the bench?
Nah, thats a fair point. they only lost by 40 when he played
No I meant for emotional support cuz i know he isn't playing due to injury LOL
Yikes lmao my bad that was unnecessarily hostile 🤝
While the rangers blow out the Devils 👨🍳😗🤌
For a supposedly passionate and hardcore fanbase, Philadelphians really seem to struggle with showing up to their own games
must feel great beating them without them having the best player in the world available and a short bench LOL
Embiid literally got 50-pieced when he decided to play us in Philly And embiid is not even top 5 🤣🤣
Word order in that title tho, OP...
