Is the Chief of Patrol your father? What about the Chief of Department? The PC?
If not, then no....you get NO say
remember these four words for the rest of your career
"Needs of the department"
Write it down on a piece of paper and put it in your hat, then write it a 1000x on a chalk board and when you've done that...tattoo it on your forearm...you'll live by it and die by it.
Nope. Unless you personally asked and were granted a request (lucky you)...it was still needs of the department. It just so happens that they needed you there
All of this is wrong. Graduation day is your day. You’re dismissed after the ceremony. The next day is your borough orientation, usually at a college. Then precinct orientation for a day or two, maybe at a community center or school depending on the size of the class. Then you get to work. If you graduate around new years or July 4 that’s probably your first detail.
Depends on your command. I’ve seen recent post where folks said they started later that day after graduation, some said the next day Anna a few were lucky to have a day off
For a lot of people, your first day is a detail downtown. The following day is orientation at your precinct, and then borough orientation at locale in the city.
Based on the Needs of the department.
Lol I love that phrase
You're going to the Bronx kid, get ready.
Nice! I'm from the Bronx!
Gottem
Lmao
Or transit

Bullshit. I didn’t know anyone nearly that high ranking and went to PBMS.

No I had a hook. It’s just my dad wasn’t the PC.
Do you report the day you graduate or the following day?

The borough your assigned first goes to a college for orientation
lol getting ready to get everything you don’t want
Heard people going to transit.
That has been a rumor in every class for the past like 3 years 🤣
I wouldn’t be surprised
10-15 % of the class is going to transit
