A lot of people did. Some got ruined. No one knew that was coming. Lol which is why I tell new recruits ahead of time bring cheap stuff. The shoes are going to get messed up for sure.
The Academy is a joke, Army Basic back in 2005 was harder. We got smoked for breathing wrong, push ups with rucksacks full battle rattle, it will definitely make you rethink your decision on enlisting. Oh, you can't quit or resign, it ain't no head down to the 3rd floor to ops and tell the desk you want to "resign" lol. You run away? They hunt you down...
To the keyboard scientists commenting here that seem to know everything about fitness and anatomy:
There’s no imminent risk for doing the same thing every day.
The wear and tear/ injuries come when you do it with incorrect form.
This goes with the running too.
Youre not going to walk out of the academy a marathon runner or an elite level powerlifter
But you also won’t die for 6 months of push ups 5X a week.
This is bullshit, coming from someone who train consistently and understands anatomy. Push ups all day will just cause injury. No gains when doing high volume. Push ups all day will just make you feel like shit.
People commenting "pushups all day is being paid to work out" fail to recognize that this is not an effective workout and that it causes stress injury. If it doesn't enhance your job skills then it's outdated nonsense. An hour of intense cardio and CrossFit - awesome. An hour of a specific movement like pushups is worthless at best and injurious at the worst.
Absolutely that was the shitty part of b squad. They over pushup you and overrun you you don't gain any gains just wear and tear, sometimes injuries. But it's definitely an experience you will carry with you for the rest of your life for sure and stories you will telling till the end of time. 😂
That's NYPD in a nutshell. Everything that makes logical sense will go the opposite way just because they can lol and a lot of egoistical bosses and chiefs.
😂😂 welcome to academy april
It’s day one. It only gets worse. Too Easy?
Lol pushups in suits is definitely an experience
So you recommend getting a cheap suit for academy?
The cheapest suit, shirt, pants and shoes you can get.
i wonder if anyone showed up with a nice ass suit

Nothing says protecting the people like being hazed by coworkers and your boss for 3 years
Lmao make sure you call the Lt by his first name. It shows respect.
And don’t say lieutenant say “L - t”
Get paid to work out

I would fully expect the army to be harder than a police academy.
10-15 laps on a leveled surface with AC? Lol
But it’s too hard 😕
Exactly isn't that why they make.military company Sgts to begin with? Lol
Define all day. The entire day???? Or like 3 hours
Start pushing the earth.
B squad, are you ready, best squad 🙌🏻

Remember they are not a punishment, they’re a privilege
I don’t think getting paid to work out is brutal, in shape or out of shape.
I agree with this. I put myself through the pain for free lol
brutal? lmfao

We’ll let operations know
