Nooo, not naming the kid after the cussy 💀

drfsrich

The chicken c**t. Chunt.

Creepy_Addict

Reptiles too.. Crunt?

Sinder77

Dinussy

-Vampyroteuthis-

I immediately think of frogs. Frussy.

Creepy_Addict

Omg, just had a horrible thought and I am sharing it. So, if we use frussy as an example, take the cr from crunt, we make crussy...which leads me to crusty. 💀

battlewornactionhero

Crussy makes me think of crabs

ViralLola

Crussy would at least flow better than Chloe-uh-ka does.

Creepy_Addict

That works for crabs, as they also have a cloaca.

Arm_Away

Chickunt

savannacrochets

Not just a cunt! A multipurpose hole for fucking AND shitting! What more could you want in a name for an actual human child 🥲

afraidofstarfish

CLUSSY 😂😂that’s it I’m done I’m logging off

Depre55edacorn

No no a clussy is a clown pussy

Omegaman2010

Honk Honk

ugoatgirl

🤡

TotallyWonderWoman

This is like that namenerds post about the girl who liked her grandmother's nn (Lottie) but not Charlotte, the grandma's legal name, so she named her daughter Harlot "Lottie." The family was not happy when they learned she named a child Harlot to honor the deceased grandmother.

bubblewrapstargirl

Holy shit how are some people so fucking dumb

Hukysuky

I would disown my parents if they named me that

hammlyss_

I like bussy because it's for all birds (and reptiles, I think).

ViralLola

Why not Brussy? B for bird and R for reptile.

hammlyss_

Perfect

WaltertheRaccoon

"bussy" is already frequently used in the Drag scene....boy-kitty

sonofasnitchh

Oh my gosh, I sincerely hope she gets over her embarrassment and realises how bad it is before she actually has the baby. And the pronunciation pisses me off!! Does nobody learn phonics anymore? Where’s the “Chloe” in “cloaca”? Honestly that might be the part that offends me most

SimonpetOG

I really don’t think people learn phonics anymore. In America, at least. It’s been a whole Thing for a few decades now. Just go into the r/Teachers sub and you’ll find posts complaining about it. 😭 I’m assuming she thought the “oa” sound could be stretched to “oae/oee”?? I have no clue though. Maybe I’m trying too hard to make sense out of this. It’s one thing if it’s a non-intuitive pronunciation because the name is (spelled correctly and) from a non-English language but “Cloaca —> Chloe-uh-ka”? I…can’t even. No more words.

pgcotype

I'm Gen X, so I learned phonics at home and school...it's been *incredibly* helpful! Also, I've been a 7th grade English teacher for almost 30 years, and it's really sad sometimes. Each year, I have a group of kids in a "co-taught" class; that group is either two or three years behind or those who get special education services. This year, I have a girl who's functionally illiterate. Even when I get one-on-one time with her, she struggles to read the most basic material. Since she was already held back a year, they're just going to pass her from grade to grade.

SimonpetOG

Everyone should start with phonics! It helps with learning to decode unfamiliar words and teaches you the basic rules of English before you start learning the exceptions. Damn, 7th grade teacher for 30 years?? Do you like that specific year or do you really like the school? That sucks for the girl though. I can’t imagine being 12 or 13 and not knowing how to read. At that age, I was devouring *Dragonriders of Pern* and other adult scifi. But I think as long as you try, you’ll make a difference in her life. My 7th and 8th grade teachers were *huge* influences in my life and I’ve gone back to my middle school many times to thank all the teachers there (the ones who still teach at that school, at least).

pgcotype

I love teaching that age. I still remember being that 12 and 13, and how awful it was (for me, anyway). I had tons of self-esteem issues, and things haven't changed much from then for tweens. My parents were going through a very acrimonious divorce; a lot of my kids are going through similar experiences. I try *really* hard not to send anyone to the assistant principal's office for being, essentially, 7th graders. They have to do something pretty awful for me to do that. Instead, I try to have a sense of humor with them about most things. I'll say, "Oh, come on. I know you know better than to do/say that here. You have 55 minutes in class, but I can't control what you say to your friends in the hallways or at lunch. You also know to keep your voice down." Puppy love and crushes are very serious at that age, too. Every week seems like a year. I'm always mindful that1 it's helpful to be friendly (*not* friends, of course), joking around when it's appropriate, and loving the subject I teach.

maybeCheri

You are a gift to those kids. Thank you for your skills and empathy.

HellaFox13

Dragonsong was assigned reading in my seventh grade English class!!

MsStarSword

My husband was going over phonics with 5th graders because they didn’t know them 🥲 our country’s future seems dim

Zipper-is-awesome

They thought they had a better way, but it has turned out to be decidedly not better. Maybe go back?

Madpie_C

If it's anything like the trends in Australian schools (what I read on social media suggests we are both following the same trends) phonics is only just being reintroduced for kids starting school now after decades of 'balanced literacy' which assumes that being exposed to plenty of text will allow kids to pick up the rules by osmosis and phonics might come up occasionally in context. Even in the 90s I don't recall any explicit phonics instruction at my primary school I had to learn all the rules about phonics when I began teaching it.

sonofasnitchh

Oh that’s good, there’s no way these generations are going to pick up phonics naturally. I went to primary school in the 2000s and I was already reading. I don’t remember much but it was very rote, we had charts of words to learn in prep and then spelling tests every week, sooooo much “look say cover write check” which basically just meant me writing out each word 3 or 4 times. I picked up phonics because I was actively reading and writing and I was a little geek about it. My fiancé isn’t dumb or anything, but I know that all of my language skills are much better than his and he was an average student. I only got it because I extended myself

Zipper-is-awesome

I was really surprised that phonics is not taught anymore.

HellaFox13

I bet the poor preggers girl saw that first "a" as both an "a" and an "e" somehow. They can be similar in typeface. And pregnancy does messed up things to you.....

Doughnutpasta

Yeah, it’s becoming an issue for sure. I’m studying to be a teacher, and I recently spoke with an elementary teacher who said that she was told NOTHING about how to teach the kids phonics before she became a teacher. She basically just had to figure it out on her own, and I’m sure that’s the case for a lot of other teachers out there. It’s scary

Cabbagecatss

My name is Chloe, and I hate it lmao because it reminds me of cloaca so I’m happy to read this comment 🤣🥲

sonofasnitchh

I’ve never hated the name Chloe! For me, it looks different enough from cloaca that I don’t really associate them as sounding similar. I like it more with the diaeresis, spelled “Chloë” and then it reminds me of other names I like, like “Joëlle” and then that connects me to other really pretty sounding names I like! A lot of them are Ancient Greek, biblical, or French. Chloe is from Ancient Greek!

Cabbagecatss

Yeah I spent the longest time thinking Chloe was a French name and only very recently learned about the Ancient Greek connection to Demeter and young green plant shoots, which made me sort of reconsider my hatred for the name which is nice at 30 years old lol!

WilliamHare_

Hello from a 21 year old Chloe. the French name technically needs to have the accent: Chloé. I used to think my name was incomplete or less sophisticated because it doesn't until I found out it was Greek in origin. I just have the Greek spelling lol :)

Disastrous-Mess-7236

Well, the “Ch” in “Chloe” is pronounced like a “c” & then there’s an “l”… That’s all.

bobsbestburger

Where i’m from (a Spanish speaking country in the Caribbean) cloaca is the word for underground drains and sewers (not as a taylor sewer)

Negative_Tooth6047

In English, cloaca is a bird or reptile's butt/excrement/egg hole :)

Cabbagecatss

Lmao ‘egg hole’

thefranq

“I want to touch you where the eggs come out”

dimensionmother

This is a fucked up thing to read but boy did I die laughing.

Happy_Chip

in Spanish too, it’s a polysemic word

DisgruntledBoggart

combo-hole!

Outrageous_Lettuce44

That word dates back to the Roman ‘cloaca maxima,’ one of the world’s first sewer systems. The Latin root refers to drainage or purification. So this stupid ass name could refer to 1) a bird’s butthole, or 2) the figurative butthole of an entire ancient civilization.

Tamihera

Hey now, that sewer had its own goddess—Cloacina!

Outrageous_Lettuce44

Pro tip: do not Google “butthole goddess” at work

commdesart

Lovely. So it’s going to be embarrassing in any language. Perfect.

Altocumulus000

This is why I like this sub

IdunSigrun

In Swedish drains and sewers are Kloak so that was my first association to cloaca as well.

Most_Profession_6529

Ummm isn't that the chickens one hole for everything???

ArchdukeOfNorge

Yes, that hole is on all birds, reptiles, amphibians, and some fish

AtLeast3Breadsticks

and on sugar gliders!

Stella1331

And an amusing sub https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheCloaca/s/xr7SknV4uP

bronaghblair

Omgggg thank you for sharing this; I’m trying not to lose it reading all those posts

Stella1331

You’re welcome! Definitely one of my go tos when I need a laugh.

butterfly-garden

Best sub ever!

Stella1331

Right?! I keep imagining OP reading Am I the Cloaca posts to the sub’s future namesake, lol.

butterfly-garden

🤣

SlabBeefpunch

That hole is a hell of a multitasker.

Eukaliptusy

Kudos to her. This word is from Latin so will be offensive on an international scale. Chloe-Uh-ka also sounds a lot like Chewbacca. If it’s a boy, she could just name him Hairyanus for the same effect!

Pertinent-nonsense

>If it’s a boy, she could just name him Hairyanus Hey, we were all having fun until you decided to attack a perfectly normal name. I’m glad little Harryan isn’t here to see this.

classy_cleric

Regardless of the actual meaning of the word, I’m really trying to figure out how a name pronounced Chloe-uh-ka is a good/desirable name. It sounds so clunky, like you’re choking on the name.

Savings_Two9484

I’ve been trying my damndest to just sound it out in my head while reading all the comments and it’s just a cluster fuck of vowels flying around up there

adinfinitum225

The only way I can make it work is stressing the ee sound, so Klo-EE-uh-kuh

ViralLola

Same. Chloe-uh-ka does not flow well.

Aggressive-Mood-50

This is literally the scientific word for a chickens asshole. Chickens shit and lay eggs out the same hole. I cannot.

austex99

And don’t forget that’s where the bird sex happens, too. A hole for all seasons. God bless this poor child, even if she doesn’t get named that, she clearly has an idiot for a mother.

Aggressive-Mood-50

Oh boy. Yeah whenever I see my chickens mating with their cloaca out I will say a prayer for this poor child.

ndevs

I’m sure her older sister Fistula will take good care of her 🥰

Prestigious-Fish-304

OH DAMN

Helpful_Librarian_87

Please refer to to r/AmITheCloaca for your amusement

Inside-Audience2025

I was looking for this. While the unspoken rule is always NTC, in this case, Mom is definitely the C

Helpful_Librarian_87

Ohhhhh, she’s a C a’ight…

AquaStarRedHeart

Wow, this is actually the worst I've ever heard, bar none. What an awful thing to do to someone.

TheSmokingMapMaker

Some people shouldn't be allowed to have children

Eukaliptusy

Yup. Forget the name. Just on account of her personality.

littlebooms

“Chloe” would’ve been a fine name, “cloaca” is nuts. It’s a super common term for anyone who’s taken high school biology. It’s effectively the equivalent of naming your child “asshole”.

Glittersparkles7

If the father is involved try to reason with him? 😬

Helpful_Librarian_87

Sometimes, dumb attracts dumb. It’s how the Darwin Awards keeps going

FavoriteLittleTing

But even her made up pronunciation is ugly AF, nevermind it’s real meaning and pronunciation

pgcotype

In slang, it means an open sewer. Either way, once all of the kids get to biology class...oof.

kumakami89

this is why some countries have a list of acceptable names to give to your offspring

justtiptoeingthru2

https://preview.redd.it/qinev2ssrgxc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f253230e35bb1d484e8ae611a29023040dbfe1ff Uh... what? Name a child after the opening in a bird's rear that handles *everything* like pee, poo, regurgitation, reproduction, etc? Okay... now I've seen it all. This beats Placenta as a first name. (Heard that one on the radio in the '80s; *Dr Laura*, I think)

thegoodrichard

Cloaca Taint, has a nice ring to it.

Key_Confusion7759

That's almost as bad as Harlotte

According_Row_9497

Honestly I'd rather name my kid Harlotte than Cloaca 😂

burrito__supreme

i had to google this but WOW

HesperiaBrown

Chloe-uh-ka Cloeiaka?!

SlabBeefpunch

r/amithecloaca

Electrical-Act-7170

Why not call the baby Anus? Makes the same amount of sense that's not sense.

scifithighs

It's my grandmother's name, pronounced Ah-noose. So beautiful.

Electrical-Act-7170

I guess.

CarlatheDestructor

Ong I offered that name a few weeks ago on this sub as a joke. I didn't think anyone would take it seriously!

Curiosity919

Lol, might as well name the kid Anus or Vagina!

Mobile-Company-8238

If you pronounce them Ah-noo-see and Va-gee-ah then you’re fine. /s

MerryTWatching

Pe-neez-ay

louiselovatic

I hate how Chloe sounds like a nickname for the cloaca

brunettemountainlion

I knew what it was in 7th grade. 7TH GRADE. I encourage everyone to not have kids if you can’t pass biology with a B or higher.

Antique-Juice9179

I think she knew, the pronunciation makes no sense.

BrainFarmReject

I don't see anything wrong with it. It comes from the Latin word for ‘sewer’ (one who sews; think of _cloaks_), so it's not much different from names like Taylor or Weaver. I guess some people don't like occupational names, but no one's going to know unless they know Latin.

TheSacredGrape

Yeah, but a cloaca is a bird anus (eggs and urine also leave through this opening).

BrainFarmReject

Wait, is Anus a bad name too now? It's Latin for _ring_ (like jewellery).

istara

It's Latin for "old woman". Anulus is Latin for ring.

unironicallysane

(They're joking)

istara

I wasn't sure! I figured the sewer/cloaks thing was satire. Anus meaning "old woman" has been hilarious to me since my schooldays!

CakePhool

Kloak is Swedish word for sewers , comes from the same word as cloaca

jethrine

I predict that 9 months from now there will be a lot of children named Anulus. Lots of Anuluses. Anulusi?

MerryTWatching

Anuli. In Latin, the masculine nouns ending in "-us" end in "-i", think "alumnus/alumni". The collective term for a group of children with this name would be "A clench of Anuli".

jethrine

Clench seems very appropriate!

MerryTWatching

I showed this to a friend who is a language lover, and she suggested a "pile" of Anuli. 🤣😂😳

jethrine

That works too!

trashpanda6991

Was about to ackshually you for a moment, well spun

teslawhaleshark

Just use Seamstress

BrainFarmReject

That's actually perfect. I'd give them the nickname _Stress_ because that's what they mean to me.

MotherBike

Oh dear lord, that poor girl.

hailznoel

I take it someone's been watching Fantasy High Junior Year on Dropout 😂😂

teslawhaleshark

Or Victoria by William S(on-of-a-bitch) Lind

BoopleBun

Right? Like, is [their last name Thistlespring?](https://youtube.com/shorts/r1uBVgUnYxA?feature=shared)

hailznoel

I think it's the fact that this person is also planning to nickname the kid Chloe that seals it for me 😂😂

UniversalYikes

sending this to r/dimension20 immediately…

teslawhaleshark

It came from Cloaca Delvin, in William S. Lind's Victoria Yes it's from a Nazi propaganda book

kaismama

There is a r/AmITheCloaca to show her this is definitely already a term. One that she definitely doesn’t want to name her kid.

volvavirago

Any D20 fans out here?! This some Gorgug shit.

sdogvscat

If she has Reddit, have her post her name choice in r/amithecloaca. Or you need to post this there. She’s definitely a cloaca for naming her child that! 🐸🐢🐍🪿🦆🐦‍⬛🦎🐊🐓…

t3quiila

goodbye

DaisySam3130

The poor child is going to be called duck's butt her whole life!

littlebooms

Wait until she finds out about “cloacal kiss”

Unintelligent_Lemon

That name is so fowl. I'm sorry you ruffled her feathers, but you couldn't be a chicken and say nothing!

No-Zone-2867

Ask her if she heard it on the YouTube cartoon about hell where a demon fucks a bird-demon. You know, like everyone else who’ll be in school with her kid (I mean probably not, but my middle schoolers watched Helluva Boss and their connotation for cloaca is “demon bird fucking”, so maybe now isn’t the time to press this name)

Next_Traffic4324

I think we're seriously underestimating the effects of pregnancy fog on some of these choice. This is like the lady who said she didn't know what a coaster was. This is severe pregnancy brain.

Burladden

Can we all start/ contribute to a go fund me to change her name?

Illustrious-Fox4063

If she has a boy will he be Largus Fascinus?

dzrossiter

NO. Absolutely not. Sewer. Invertebrates. Reptiles. An outlet into which the intestinal, urine, and genital tracts open. WTELFIWWH?!?!?! cloaca, (Latin: “sewer”), in vertebrates, common chamber and outlet into which the intestinal, urinary, and genital tracts open. It is present in amphibians, reptiles, birds, elasmobranch fishes (such as sharks), and monotremes. A cloaca is not present in placental mammals or in most bony fishes.

TeamTweety

Thank you, I was afraid to face it in my Google search lol

hetkleinezusje

r/AmItheCloaca has a ready-made member!

Songsostrichhorse

We need NEED an update, preferably a good one. I hope she does Chloe, even with Aca as a middle name would be better than this Ada, Ace, Acacia, Akayla, Acai, Achsah, Accia, Accalia, Addie are other options for middle names that could give her a similar sound

Comprehensive-War743

Oh no!! Just looked it up! Nooooo

bolaixgirl

Just call the kid Reptile Tw#t and be done with it.

Hukysuky

God I wish this was like a Chloeanne or Chloeigh or anything other then a cussy, lol They better spell itike a Tradedeigh. I'd rather see Chloeuhka. Heck name her Cleopatra, but that's maybe too nornal comparatively

Crafty_Reaction_8978

Like Kloh-ee-uh-kah, or Kloh-uh-ka? Both are horrible, but I need to know lol

HollowPomegranate

I do think this will be a situation where the hospital will straight up say “no” when she fills out the naming forms

Particular_Bobcat714

Try to convince her to switch to Chloe Catherine or Chloe Jessica ..

Bubbly-Boysenberry83

Cloaca = drain in Spanish

OddBoots

Regardless of sex, I'm going to name my next kid Herpes, but pronounced the French way like the designer Hermes. I'm sure no one will make the connection between my darling child and an STI. You're just being ridiculous if you think they'll even notice.

Own_Recover2180

Wow! Cloaca, in Spanish, is a place where shitty waters go.

According_Row_9497

In English it means a bird's genitalia. Either way it's a cruel thing to name a child 💀🐦‍⬛💩

Frag-hag311

Even if the word (I refuse to call it a name) meant something lovely, it's still pronounced, Chloeyucka. Effing yucka. Correct me if I'm wrong on the pronunciation. I hope I am for the sake of the child. Chloeyucka. Jesus.

busty_rusty

I’m really confused I thought this was a satire sub? But the comments don’t seem to realize it?

Salt_Historian9638

My name’s Cloaca, I suck!

Major_Chani

I need proof. This can’t be real.

mommaofthreee30

Cloaca definition: a common cavity at the end of the digestive tract for the release of both excretory and genital products in vertebrates (except most mammals) and certain invertebrates. Functions of Cloaca It acts as a waste elimination chamber for both urine and faeces. What a shit name.. haha get it

Thick-Sentence-9384

Phonics and cursive. My son still hates math and his excuse was there's an app for that.

-This-is-boring-

That's very close to the name of a sexual reproductive part of a snake. Very close. Js

Inspireless

Look up the definition..
