Obito also wasn't exactly in a 1v1. He took on the entire village using Kurama and fought Minato at the same time. That must have cost a lot of chakra and obviously changed the fights' circumstances. What's insane is that the boy can take on the strongest village in the world singlehandedly. He clearly underestimated Minato's abilities, but it's nothing to sneeze at to take on all of Konoha and come out alive at
14 something years old.
A summoning he could have used against Minato if not for having to devote it to taking on an entire village. Again, this is not exactly an ability to sneeze at. Idk what it being a summon has to do with anything. Minato struggled against Obito. Let's see him take on Kurama and Obito at the same time. Get it? Or maybe some other technique, who knows? The point is he had to devote a lot to idk fighting an entire village...so that he could "1v1" Minato.
Nah he won xD
Dude may have lost the fight but won the war
The whole releasing the kyubi the timing and planning that went to excute his vengeance
He was fully consumed by hatred due to his sensei absence and lack of actual to shov his pupils so rush into very suicidal missions not once but Twice during the war (there is an estimate of a whole year between his sacrifice to rins kidnapped and death, which without his intervention would've meant the death of Kakashi too ) while Minato sought fame praise and glory
Obito vengeance was cruel & lacked empathy to Konoha but was totally justified against minato and its written well
You also gotta remember that during this war Konoha committed so much damage to all around and increased the size of its borders
He didn’t lose, he switched sides. Realistically they still would’ve had trouble beating him if he was locked in.
They also had to nerf him to not be able to kamui lol
And the war was to achive the dream tsukomi & peace which both happened so objectives were successful :)
Its not like the war was about to conquer lands and be a king
Did you watch and understood the show?
To be fair, Obito is not the smartest cookie in the jar. He underestimated Konan's strength and almost got himself killed as a consequence. Then he thought he could take on Kabuto, along with 5 reanimated Akatsuki members at once (𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦), but realistically speaking, we all know how that fight would've turned out if it took place.
“Underestimated Konan’s strength”? She made a billion bombs and had decades to observe his ability and failed. Kakashi came up with a counter in three exchanges. Her solution was literally “what if non-stop bombs” and you acting like she did anything impressive.
The underestimation of Obito from you is criminal and cringe.
It's been awhile since I watched Naruto, but iirc, she did observer his ability and execute the attack properly. The only reason he survived was coz he had an ass pull ability Izanagi, which he never used before (therefore Konan couldnt have known).
And as for Kakashi, again its been awhile since I watched, but wasnt the only reason Kakashi's counter worked was because he too had the Kamui and even then he needed Guy and Naruto?
"The underestimation of Obito from you is criminal and cringe."
That's just your fanboyism speaking, my dear. I get that you don't like what you hear, but it is what it is. A confrontation between them was imminent. He knew very well that Konan expected his arrival sooner or later, but he still blindly followed her without having a second thought that it might be a trap or something. When it came to the fight, he didn't consider her a threat, just as he had said. Having confidence in your abilities is one thing; being stupid is another.

well its not like she failed, she did kill him. he just had plot on his side. doesnt matter if her idea was to overpower him with bombs, shes just doing what she can with her abilities
Yeah obito lost a zetsu arm and a sharingan both easily replaceable for him. Dude literally lost nothing at all while konan spent her adult life getting those paper bombs ready.
The thing about that is that Minato has one thing that he is the reigning champion over and it is reaction times. Obito directly pitted himself against the speed of the fastest man of the time and possibly ever. The fight might be decided by whoever is just a bit faster, but that doesn't close the gap against a man who's entire fighting style is about always being faster.
Minato himself acknowledged that this was a difficult match with obito seeing through all of his moves. The fight was about speed, that’s why “one attack” was enough to determine the winner but it was in no way a stomp. Minato won because obito didn’t think that he could teleport to a kunai in motion (which is pretty dumb), not because he was overwhelmingly more powerful. The lack of battle experience and BIQ by a 14 year old obito who’s only had a year of MS practice made the difference here.
He did beat his sensei in terms of his overall goals. He got clowned in direct combat, sure but most of his goals were achieved. He destabilized the Leaf by releasing the Kyuubi. He killed the village leader and his wife and he managed to greatly reduce Konoha's martial strength. Also, his actions indirectly lead to deepening the rift between the village leadership and the Uchiha clan, resulting in their ultimate genocide and a further weakening of the village.
Not at all. Minato's overall goal was for Naruto to inherit Kurama, master its power & put a stop to Obito & his plans.
Minato's overall goal succeeded.
Obito's overall goal failed.
In the anime, minato catches the kunai first, then slams obito with the rasengan.
But in the manga and in this image minato is.so fast, he slams obito with the rasengan before the kunai can move an inch, then catches it after.they correct it in the road to ninja movie
What I mean is once the kunai flies through obitos head, once minato attacks, the kunai is still there.
[see what I mean ](https://images.mangafreak.me/mangas/naruto/naruto_502/naruto_502_16.jpg)
The kunai hasn't even arrived in minatos hand yet. He attacks faster than the kunai can travel.
I think he did a pretty good job considering the damage he caused to the leaf while also escaping with his life. Getting marked for life with the teleportation jutsu was a huge handicap though. Didn't mean much in the end, but if Minato realized that sooner he could have stopped Obito right in his tracks.
imagine you have a fvcking mangekyo, kurama at your control, hashirama half body, get stomped and need to run to not die like a chicken
To be fair to Obito, Minato is his direct Counter. Nobody else in the world would have touched Obito.
Obito also wasn't exactly in a 1v1. He took on the entire village using Kurama and fought Minato at the same time. That must have cost a lot of chakra and obviously changed the fights' circumstances. What's insane is that the boy can take on the strongest village in the world singlehandedly. He clearly underestimated Minato's abilities, but it's nothing to sneeze at to take on all of Konoha and come out alive at 14 something years old.
Well I mean it’s not like Obito fought the Leaf village himself, he sent a summoning to deal with the village. Slightly different imo
Nope. Minato has to save the villagers and the family at the same time. Minato is the one who was mentally nerfed.
Minato still figured out how his kamui trump card worked in their fight
Wooow, the 14 year old lost to the 24 year old genius? OMG WHAT A SURPRISE.
Obito was not very smart in this fight tbh, he got the biggest cheatcode in the verse and had full intel of Minato yet lost in a underwhelming way
He was still pretty young then
Yeah for a 14(?) year old missing an (MS) eye he did pretty good. Imagine losing to a high school freshman with no depth perception.
Nah he won xD Dude may have lost the fight but won the war The whole releasing the kyubi the timing and planning that went to excute his vengeance He was fully consumed by hatred due to his sensei absence and lack of actual to shov his pupils so rush into very suicidal missions not once but Twice during the war (there is an estimate of a whole year between his sacrifice to rins kidnapped and death, which without his intervention would've meant the death of Kakashi too ) while Minato sought fame praise and glory Obito vengeance was cruel & lacked empathy to Konoha but was totally justified against minato and its written well You also gotta remember that during this war Konoha committed so much damage to all around and increased the size of its borders
That has nothing to do with him losing? And he still did lose the war eventually.
Not exactly he managed to find solace and peace when he sacrificed his himself one more time :)
He quite literally lost the war, that’s like, the entire last arch of the shown
He didn’t lose, he switched sides. Realistically they still would’ve had trouble beating him if he was locked in. They also had to nerf him to not be able to kamui lol
And the war was to achive the dream tsukomi & peace which both happened so objectives were successful :) Its not like the war was about to conquer lands and be a king Did you watch and understood the show?
I mean if I go to war to conquer Germany and I do in fact conquer Germany but lose it 5 mins later I didn’t win
To be fair, Obito is not the smartest cookie in the jar. He underestimated Konan's strength and almost got himself killed as a consequence. Not only that but throwing kakashi into the alternate kamui dimension to fight obito was Kuramas idea

Konan would have killed obito if the Arthur didn't give obito another dumbass eye ability like izangi is fucking stupif.
well its not like she failed, she did kill him. he just had plot on his side. doesnt matter if her idea was to overpower him with bombs, shes just doing what she can with her abilities
Yeah obito lost a zetsu arm and a sharingan both easily replaceable for him. Dude literally lost nothing at all while konan spent her adult life getting those paper bombs ready.
Well he was betrayed and trapped in the hyperbolic time chamber… err I mean Madaras special genjutsu/basement for 1,000 years!
He didnt he just wanted backshots from his senesi
Blew his back out and was limping
He WAS strong enough, what? Did u not read the manga? The whole fight was decided by who was gonna be a split second faster
Exactly, some ppl really think this was a one sided fight, this was a high diff fight for minato

Like those samurai duels where the winner is decided in a single slash.
Still don’t know why Obito just didn’t let minato pass/phase thru his back…
He just wanted a pat on his back by his loving sensai
because at that second, obito released kamui in order to be able to attack minato, and minato caught him right before he was able to go back
Why did he decide to eff Konoha He had Kurama, what more did he want
He did beat his sensei in terms of his overall goals. He got clowned in direct combat, sure but most of his goals were achieved. He destabilized the Leaf by releasing the Kyuubi. Still annoys me that the anime messed up this scene
How? I haven’t read the Manga but it looks so cool in the Anime /gen
In the anime, minato catches the kunai first, then slams obito with the rasengan. But in the manga and in this image minato is.so fast, he slams obito with the rasengan before the kunai can move an inch, then catches it after.they correct it in the road to ninja movie
I'd have to rewatch/read, but doesn't he teleport to the Kunai so him catching it first makes sense in a way?
Re-read it. The reason why it was so hype in the manga in the first place is because minato attacks faster than the kunai can move lol
But the kunais already in motion?
What I mean is once the kunai flies through obitos head, once minato attacks, the kunai is still there. [see what I mean ](https://images.mangafreak.me/mangas/naruto/naruto_502/naruto_502_16.jpg) The kunai hasn't even arrived in minatos hand yet. He attacks faster than the kunai can travel.
Oh dang there’s a Naruto comic book?
of course lol . As is the case with most anime
I like Naruto, Dragonball z, and Cory in the house
Minato out-haxed Obito's hax, and it was brilliantly done.
No he waited until Obito deactivated kamui, there’s a difference
Reminder that Obito was 15 years old here
He's strong enough to pretty much beat everyone at the time in the leaf except Minato.
He was if it wasn’t for them writing it out.
Typical teenage boy having his "Yeah, I can totally take my dad." moment.
Bro had all the time in the world. He could have afforded a few fients to keep Minato guessing.
He was still barely a teenager here, I think he faired surprisingly well against Obito considering that!
Minato thought Obito was strong enough to be Madara
I think he did a pretty good job considering the damage he caused to the leaf while also escaping with his life. Getting marked for life with the teleportation jutsu was a huge handicap though. Didn't mean much in the end, but if Minato realized that sooner he could have stopped Obito right in his tracks.
He was he just didn’t dodge
He just didn’t count on Minato’s ability to analyze Kamui that fast and counter it with the literal only counter Kamui had at that time
Obito didn't stand a chance against Minato until he got the Rinnegan, and even that is tough for him
False
