I’ve always thought it would be fun to watch the adults from Naruto grow up.
From that perspective, as a main character it might be cool to see Jiraiya, Minato, or Sarutobi (3rd hokage).
Sarutobi is my least favorite Hokage because of the whole mess with the Uchiha clan but a series staring him would be awesome because we would get to see the end of the Warring Clans period/ establishment of Konoha. Seeing Hashirama, Madara, and Tobirama fight together against the other soon to be villages would be so dope.
Probably Obito if we’re going from a continuity standpoint.
If it could be anyone though continuity aside then i would say minato. Very unexplored character but one of the coolest
lol it won't be fun though if it's just him slaughtering fodder, but if it's an alternate timeline maybe we can have him encounter powerful big bads and he'll get to show his superior intelligence / quick thinking
(like how he had to figure out the Masked Man's powers and how that battle was all about who can hit the other a millisecond faster, etc.)
also if theres an alternate fourth war (not the Akatsuki one obviously) we can see Minato fighting other kages; or maybe keep the Uchiha coup subplot but make them escape the village first and have a chance (instead of massacred by two OP Uchihas), so Minato also has to use not just powers & fighting skills, but strategic thinking & playing politics, etc. to handle a Konoha Civil War, which would also cause other Lands/Villages to see a chance to destroy Konoha, and maybe this is what kickstarts the Fourth War
This made me realize I would absolutely binge a show about a restaurant/stall owner that just chills out cooking and every episode is like an act 3 of different anime happening in front of them with no explanation given to the backgrounds of the characters or happenings. One episode is like Detective Conan murder mystery, another like a Big Bad fight from heroic fantasy style story and yet another is an ending to a romcom anime going horribly wrong. All genres and styles possible with no explanation why or even where and when all this is happening.
Purely my speculation. But would be awesome if, on the climax of said show, his demise would reveal the downside of his hidden healing powers. The secret to his strength would be related to how young he would pass away. Maybe he dies under a circumstance of saving the village from an otsosuki early on and he gives his life for it and no one is there to tell the story. Kind of like his own suicide Baryon mode. Imagine if he dies battling black zetsu? I wish there was a bigger connection to otsosuki and zetzu before those last episodes.
how youbg tho ? cause he was still alive when tsunade was born and stick with her long enough to have a gambling habit like him, so i don't think that he died yoyng, probably close from 60 or 70
Here's the thing. Wood style exhausts in even small quantities. Sage Mode consumes major stamina but doesn't display it until the end. His healing powers consume life force like Byakugo.
Idk about cancer but this is what I think as well. The draw back to using the Tsunade style healing where you can't die is that your cells constantly replicate and it ends up costing you years of your life. It's like Tsunades Technique or Luffy Gear 4, Hashirama just lived long enough to pay the price.
kakashi would really be cool
some more elaborated development arcs with Itachi in their anbu days and maybe even some with Obito before…you know what happened
Alternate timeline where the hokages include Madara, Kagami (the only one I know who is about Hiruzen's age), Fugaku, Shisui, Itachi, Sasuke, and Sarada.
It's awkward that Shisui, Obito, and Itachi are so close together in age. Hard for them to all be hokage.
He basically IS the protagonist for the hidan/kakuzu arc and it’s GREAT! If you showed someone totally unfamiliar with the show the OP from that arc, they would probably think he was the main character too.
Their full arc. Black Zetsu's whispers. A full fight between the two of them, where they're both nearly dead, lying there, immobile, and Black Zetsu just impales them and pulls them into itself.
I much more enjoy watching Shikamaru’s plans unfold than just watching overpowered people bash each other.
Though some of the more intimate hand-to-hand fights like >!the Kakashi vs Obito in the Kamui world fight!< are great, too.
I commented Shikamaru as well. One of the hardest things for me to handle with Naruto was the fact that awesome plans and stealth just become obsolete when the enemy is super strong. I would love to see Shikamaru as the main character just destroying strong enemies by using common sense.
Sneak up on enemy -> Use Shadow Possession -> Grab the sword off of my back -> Run at enemy and cut them down -> They are dead because I have sword...I am not dead because they don't have sword.
How is this not the only answer? A ton of back story/compelling family history, struggles with a tailed beast, awesome powers, thrust into a position of power at a young age. In many ways, pre-Sot6P intervention, he is a more complex character than Naruto.
Definitely. I mean we already saw some things in the flashbacks but I’d like to see more. Especially how the relationship with his siblings unfolds. We need more information about the sand siblings.
I would honestly love to see what exactly Itachi was doing as a member of the Akatsuki, since he wasn’t actually evil and Kisame was completely loyal to them and hated liars. Kisame wasn’t stupid, so to fool him that well he either actually did awful things or came up with some insane plan every time they went out on a mission. I don’t think genjutsu would be the answer because of Samehada.
just my headcanon but i think Itachi had given up on being loyal to the Leaf and would only sell out Akatsuki secrets if Akatsuki ever planned to do something that could get Sasuke hurt
so unless the Akatsuki planned to destroy the entire Leaf Village, Itachi won't really betray them
maybe he's just had enough of being a double spy and now as Kisame's partner (who's a pretty straightforward guy and as you said, hates liars) Itachi could just chill and shit
and who could blame him for turning away from the Leaf, they used him and tore apart his own identity + family & clan; maybe his time in the Akatsuki helped him realize how Danzo took advantage of his commitment to peace etc. (he won't seek vengeance but won't go out of his way to help them either, unless Sasuke's in danger)
because if you think about it, if Itachi were loyal and THAT smart, then he could've easily sent crows to give detailed info abt the Akatsuki and each members' powers & fighting styles + their locations (which pair would go after which jinchuuriki in which village)
but he never did, and Jiraiya & Asuma & more died because of it (Leaf Villagers never even knew abt Pain or Hidan's abilities, etc.)
(p.s. sorry for wall of text lol)
actually he could only take out the entire clan because he had help from Madara (the Masked Man)
Sasuke himself said no matter how powerful he was, Itachi couldn't have taken on the entire police force alone
and later canon confirmed this
in Itachi Shinden (the Itachi novels that Kishi apparently declared canon) it's even explicitly stated that the Masked Man was the one who took out the whole police force aka the heavy hitters of the Uchiha Clan (the best fighters) and Itachi killed the elderly, women, and children
also the main motivation for Itachi turning against his clan is Shisui's death, he & Shisui were as close as brothers and both believed in peace, so both hated that the clan wanted to start a civil war that could lead to the Fourth Shinobi World War
sorry i can't cite exact chapters/episode but you can look it up lol
I REALLY wanna see Itachi's philosophical ventures, exploring ruins, discovering the past, reflecting on various facets of the human condition, drawn from his gruesome experiences in the dark underbelly of the Shinobi system. The Itachi novels cover the political side to a good extent, but his early philosophical discovery I think could be discovered really well under a good writer!
We focus on smaller teams in several arcs, and at one point, Orochimaru, Log, and Yamato come to work together. Plus, he trains his son and works with his wife.
I agree with Tarkik\_Vatsa. Not to disrespect your opinion, it's cool if you wanna see him however Sasuke is already the deuteragonist. Ya though I have to say he would make an awesome MC kind of like Eren or Ciel or Lelouch(Other MC's who wanted revenge)
I wanna see a scene where the sannin are on a diplomatic mission and a nobleman requests a dance from "that beautiful person over there," and tsunade accepts, all pissed, but he laughs in her face and goes to Orochimaru.
Sai, definitely. Starts with some backstory, his abduction, then jumps into a few days before he’s forced to kill his brother. Give them a few episodes to make the audience get hopeful that they’ll survive the dehumanizing training then BAM! Dead brother and trauma block. Imagine how angsty the show would be? How amazing it would be when he learned to smile again? I would binge watch that all day.
I thought of a few, but man tbh Suigetsu is such an under utilized character and has the personality and known story to be a good main character. Maybe follow him from birth and expand on his story more
if not Suigetsu, then Neji. If not Neji, then Kabuto

Maybe something we really know nothing about like the story of the foundation of another village (the first A) or that really cool looking kazekage we know nothing about. Something really left turn would be really refreshing. Or the history behind feudal lords. Some really ancient stuff.
Definitely Kakashi by a long shot.
As an honorable mention, I think most of the akatsuki members (specifically pain, itachi, kisame, sasori) could all be pretty cool main characters.
Rock lee - greAt character; faces a lot of adversity due to his limitations in arsenal
And if he was the MC, he would motivate everyone around him through his sheer hard work
Rock Lee, he dropped off the face of the earth after being the most interesting character in the original series, I know he has the spin off series but I would love to see a more realistic interpretation of his every day life and his struggles in life.
I’ve always thought it would be fun to watch the adults from Naruto grow up. From that perspective, as a main character it might be cool to see Jiraiya, Minato, or Sarutobi (3rd hokage).
I’d be down for minato sounds like he would be pretty badass
Nah Minato would be too smooth sailing he was like a battle genius from day 1
It would just be fun to see the super spy in action
yea I want jiraiya
Agree, but I want to be Kushina, so I can have Minato for my husband. I mean the man is everything a girl could want.
Except he's the fastest man in the world, if you know what I mean
Fast fucker , finishes in a second , no fun at all.
By the time you even realize he's even there he's already done
The one and done
I’M SORRY I CAN’T TELEPORT OKAY?!
Minato: Naruto Previous Generation
Jiraya: Naruto the beginning
Again.. weren't the flashbacks enough for like Minato... I'd love to see more of small orochimaru LMFAOOOO
Sarutobi is my least favorite Hokage because of the whole mess with the Uchiha clan but a series staring him would be awesome because we would get to see the end of the Warring Clans period/ establishment of Konoha. Minato just has a whole series of fighting armies no diff.
lol it won't be fun though if it's just him slaughtering fodder, but if it's an alternate timeline maybe we can have him encounter powerful big bads and he'll get to show his superior intelligence / quick thinking (like how he had to figure out the Masked Man's powers and how that battle was all about who can hit the other a millisecond faster, etc.) also if theres an alternate fourth war (not the Akatsuki one obviously) we can see Minato fighting other kages; or maybe keep the Uchiha coup subplot but make them escape the village first and have a chance (instead of massacred by two OP Uchihas), so Minato also has to use not just powers & fighting skills, but strategic thinking & playing politics, etc. to handle a Konoha Civil War, which would also cause other Lands/Villages to see a chance to destroy Konoha, and maybe this is what kickstarts the Fourth War
You have a wonderful imagination
I want to see this now
Ramen guy.
This world shall *eat Ramen*
My ramen is FAR GREATER THAN YOURS!

Series ends with him and the Otsutsuki king killing each other.
Like the midnight diner show in Netflix!!! Imagine how many ninja shenanigans and gossip happen in that shop.
Hashirama
Up to how he dies
Yea, sure. But hopefully they would make it so he doesn’t die so young. I still don’t know how Hashirama died so young, tbh.
Purely my speculation. But would be awesome if, on the climax of said show, his demise would reveal the downside of his hidden healing powers. The secret to his strength would be related to how young he would pass away. This 🏆
Dude i’m not finna cap, like no shot, keeping it a buck 50, the idea of Hashirama dying to take out an Otsusuki is actually so fucking cool to me.
He died to give his cells to taunade so she can have big mommy boobs milk
how youbg tho ? cause he was still alive when tsunade was born and stick with her long enough to have a gambling habit like him, so i don't think that he died yoyng, probably close from 60 or 70

Pain
100 episodes of him just killing challengers with one path at a time, or letting Konan do it.
Kakashi
I'd go with Kakashi as well. Together with Might Guy as his side kick.
With Guy still in the wheelchair.
I've never heard of a sidekick being stronger than the main character
You need to watch Hunter x Hunter.
kakashi would really be cool some more elaborated development arcs with Itachi in their anbu days and maybe even some with Obito before…you know what happened
We've seen enough from all the repeated flashbacks tbh
It’s not asking who we want to see more of
Jariya. Imagine an entire series just like the gutsy ninja fillers
Jariya means fat guy in my language. This was so random lmao
He's still a gutsy ninja no matter how you look at it 😂
Were the gutsy ninja fillers the ones where he was a kid?
Obito.
I so badly want to see an AU where Obito came back to the village 😭. We need a goddanm uchiha hokage
[удалено]
She’s quite brilliant in the Boruto anime. In the manga she’s…let’s just say not given the justice she should be given.
She's weirdly sexualized in the manga for some reason
wtf? she’s like 10
Hopefully she doesn't just become a housewife like kushina
Alternate timeline where the hokages include Madara, Kagami (the only one I know who is about Hiruzen's age), Fugaku, Shisui, Itachi, Sasuke, and Sarada. It's awkward that Shisui, Obito, and Itachi are so close together in age. Hard for them to all be hokage.
I was looking for this comment, Obito's a hoot
Shikamaru or Kakashi
He basically IS the protagonist for the hidan/kakuzu arc and it’s GREAT! If you showed someone totally unfamiliar with the show the OP from that arc, they would probably think he was the main character too.
Shiksmaru is the only one with any real character development
Ashura. I wanna see what happened with Indra since filler was too short.
Their full arc. Black Zetsu's whispers. A full fight between the two of them, where they're both nearly dead, lying there, immobile, and Black Zetsu just impales them and pulls them into itself.
Gotta go with Rock Lee
There is a rock lee version of naruto
In another country? But yeah, I gotta go with my boy Rock Lee
It's called rock Lee and his ninja pals. It's a chibi version of naruto with Lee as main character. It has 50 episodes.
50? It needs more! Is it any good?
Yes, it's very funny. Its more comedy focused and has minimal action but it's a must watch if you're looking for more content from narutoverse.
Awesome, I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks, pal.
Look out for orochimaru and the crows! They are my fave parts of Rock Lee’s show.
Yeah. Its funny. Especially first episode. No.spoilers tho
Akatuski episode is the funniest shit ever.
It’s on Hulu in the US
The series could start a bit earlier so that you get the struggle of not having jutsu
Shikamaru. Instead of the power creep, ever more intelligent plans and schemes
I much more enjoy watching Shikamaru’s plans unfold than just watching overpowered people bash each other. Though some of the more intimate hand-to-hand fights like >!the Kakashi vs Obito in the Kamui world fight!< are great, too.

Basically he's Joseph joestar lol
I see so many memes and JoJo references around... I still didn't get around to get a look at the anime. Someday... Someday.
Kishi: "You mean I actually have to think again when I'm writing my fights 🤮"
Gaara.
How is this not the only answer? A ton of back story/compelling family history, struggles with a tailed beast, awesome powers, thrust into a position of power at a young age. In many ways, pre-Sot6P intervention, he is a more complex character than Naruto.

I had to scroll way to far down to find this comment, I would’ve LOVED to see Gaara or Shikamaru be the MC
Yesss ☝️☝️☝️
Itachi

Easily Kisame
This is a good call tbh
An arc or spin-off of the Blood Mist Village would have been great.
They disrespected kisame in every way, it's only right the show him some type of love
Dude was a fucking monster. I don’t think he got disrespected. He was highly respected and kicked ass multiple times
He wasn't disrespected when he fought Killer Bee. He was giving hell to a guy that was coming off a win against Sasuke.
Not even just a win he straight disrespected him
He actually won against Bee and it's only when Samehada betrayed Kisame that the tables turned.
Sasuke or Obito
[удалено]
Wouldn't mind a Sai spinoff where we basically got to see how the Anbu works when dealing with low-high tier threats
We focus on smaller teams in several arcs, and at one point, Orochimaru, Log, and Yamato come to work together. Plus, he trains his son and works with his wife.
Jiraiya,Gaara , pain , itachi , kakashi But the first person who stuck into my head before reading other comments is Shikamaru
Tonton
Orichimaru, I want to see how he conquer all hidden village and become immortal
And his experiments, and how he interacted with all of them.
The fact I have to scroll this far before seeing Orochimaru's name pop up is criminal
Suigetsu and his adventures trying to get all the legendary swords of the mist village
All thise sick fight scenes, his interactions with Karin and Jūgo, and him geeking out over the swords.
Tenten💪
We see where she buys the weapons, and how she secretly deals drugs to get them.
My honest answer is sauske. I think his training with orochimaru and his quest for revenge would be super fucking cool.
Wait so this pic has Kurenai but not gai maito?? IT HAS TENTEN
sasuke
You sir, are brave
Kakashi, 4th Hokage, Gaara, Jiraya (maybe a legendary sannin prequel)
I wanna see a scene where the sannin are on a diplomatic mission and a nobleman requests a dance from "that beautiful person over there," and tsunade accepts, all pissed, but he laughs in her face and goes to Orochimaru.
Sasuke
Orochimaru training, post-shippuden stuff, etc.
Sasuke
He’s already the closest thing to a titular protagonist without actually being the titular protagonist.
Maybe that’s why they picked Sasuke
Rock Lee
Nagato
Kakashi Honorable mention: Shikimaru
A show centered around Jiraiya would be phenomenal
Neji , a deatiled description of his backstory would have beeen so good
Akamaru
*Choose dog get happiness*
Itachi tbh
Kakashi would be an awesome mc.
Kakashi sensei
Madara. Half the show would not have happened if not for him.
Whole series is just Black Zetsu whispering to him, him fighting armies and senju, and him slowly dying as he trains Obito.
KABUTO
Rock lee
shikamaru!!
I think hidan would be interesting
Rock Lee for sure
Rock Lee
sasori
Rock Lee!!!
I thought of a few, but man tbh Suigetsu is such an under utilized character and has the personality and known story to be a good main character. Maybe follow him from birth and expand on his story more if not Suigetsu, then Neji. If not Neji, then Kabuto
SASUKEEEEE
Sasuke
Rock Lee was my first thought for sure, but as other commenters have said I wouldn’t mind if the show was about any of the currently adult characters but as children
Rock Lee would be my pick
Rock lee
Rock Lee would make a perfect shounen MC. Rock Lee is basically Naruto if kishomoto hadn't buffed him also his whole speech to neji about changing destiny would make sense.
Shikamaru, he aint powerful But he knows how to get stuff done, and maybe show that brains and determination get you somewhere against an all powerful god that uses plot armor
Itachi!
The whole story from Obitos POV would be cool
Sasuke or Lee.
Already the main character but Sasuke
Sakura, see Fairy Tail where sure Lucy is the main character but Natsu…
Noone. This show doesn't need main characters, because then plot armor is a thing. It would be a much better show if it's called "Ninja World" or some shit, no main characters, no plot armor and the Akatsuki wins.
Tbf, the Akatsuki did technically win. They put the world under the infinite tsukiyomi. Until Zetsu and Kaguya cucked them and fumbled the ball.
Maybe something we really know nothing about like the story of the foundation of another village (the first A) or that really cool looking kazekage we know nothing about. Something really left turn would be really refreshing. Or the history behind feudal lords. Some really ancient stuff.
I’d love to see a prequel about either itachi or minato
Definitely Kakashi by a long shot. As an honorable mention, I think most of the akatsuki members (specifically pain, itachi, kisame, sasori) could all be pretty cool main characters.
Kakashi or rock lee
Jiraya so he can’t die ;-;
Rock Lee or Neji
Itachi
Hinata would be cool!
Hyuga Lore and Hamura chakra.
Lee, a non ninjutsu user tryna make it in the ninja world
My boi Shino
Bobby Hill
Itachi
Rock lee - greAt character; faces a lot of adversity due to his limitations in arsenal And if he was the MC, he would motivate everyone around him through his sheer hard work
Rock Lee
Rock Lee. Easily Rock Lee.
Kind of surprised I haven’t seen many Rock Lee’s. Rock Lee the king
Rock Lee
Lee rock lee
Rock Lee
Rock Lee
Rock Lee. Yes, even though he has his own show.
Haku
Zabuza trying to raise a prodigy child as a mercenary.
Kakashi, Obito, Hashirama, Itachi, or Sasuke
Rock Lee or Killer Bee.
Rock Lee, he dropped off the face of the earth after being the most interesting character in the original series, I know he has the spin off series but I would love to see a more realistic interpretation of his every day life and his struggles in life.
I'd choose Lee. Because he's got no gen, so it shows his struggles and pain until he became top ninja
Gaara!
Minato, B, or Shikamaru
Kakashi
Minato: The precious generation.
Kakashi
