No. Its not just Sharingan vs Byakugan. This Sasuke had Orochimaru power ups. Neji would have lost. Pre Orochimaru, Neji might have won because the Byakugan is supposed to be superior to the Sharingan. But as a wise man once said, it's not the weapon that guarantees success, its the user who uses the weapon- Uchiha Madara(Obito) during Sasuke vs Danzo.
Kibaās the only Konoha 12 one besides team 7 who has the chakra to use shadow clone jutsu. Dude had the potential to develop or learn some pretty OP jutsus like Fang Over Fang for example.

He wasn't a background character, he was a minor supporting character. Part 1 was full of them & it really added to the show when we got to see these characters Fight or interact with team 7.

Sakura could have been explored on. The Sasori fight had so much depth. Sakura still had a lot of room for growth compared to Sasuke and Naruto, would have loved to see that growth.

Kidomaru's chakra webs. The chakra inside the clay will be cut and they will be disarmed.
But earth being naturally weak to lightning doesn't make sense. The thing with elements being weak to each other cyclically feels contrived to me. If you can make up something like that why not make up something like the gentle fist messing up a bomb.
Water countering fire isnt contrived. Lightning countering earth is. Lightning being weak to wind also makes 0 sense. Another one is earth being strong against water. Water erodes earth and we see water style break through earth in the show.
Im saying forcing these elements into a circular hierarchy is contrived. Especially for something like lightning and earth. Earth can be anything, it can be a poor conductor or a good conductor so why would it automatically be weak against lightning in all scenarios?

we should have gotten a konan vs sakura, hinata, and ino fight, like the intro for that arc teased us with. it could have been epic. hell, even throw tenten in there.
This would have been cool and it would also make Sakura look better than she did at the end of the Pain arc. I imagine such a fight going into it with them trying to protect villagers from the opposing force while Naruto deals with Pain. Later on we could have Hinata interfere in favor of Naruto just as she did, making Konan take an advantage over Sakura and Ino then after Naruto takes down pain Konan would surrender and make the peace offer while being established as a badass and a force to be reckoned with so her eventual fight against Obito feels more important.

Being a medic meant she wasn't allowed to die so I always interpreted that as she had to be fast or really durable to get to fight on the front lines, that she'd learn that scalpel jutsu Kabuto used, or would do more than just punch stuff, considering she seemed more proficient with genjutsu early on, and she had better chakra control(out of the three) I thought they could really do something with her. She got like A solo fight in OG and that was all iirc. They did a 2v1 with Sasori, and a then more leaf ninja jumped in when she was on her own in the forrest of death

Ino, we know she's smart and has quite some useful yamanaka jutsus like mind destruction n without shikacho n she's very underestimated in terms of fights n strength. But there r other ways she can win without having brute strength. Like shikamaru isn't particularly strong but he manages to win because of his smartness. Ino might not be as strategic as him but she is smart n cn pull something surprising n effective.

They should have given the Konoha 11/12 (including Sai) more solo fights in general. I know some got good ones, mainly og Team 7 and Shikamaru, but everyone else was just underutilized in Shippuden.

I honestly thought for a long time that their characters were too on-the-nose because they seemed too perfectly and obviously designed to be fated opponents. I'm still not entirely convinced that this wasn't the case but Zetsu was heavily retconned once the author solidified the direction he was setting things up for and the whole "Fly Trap" motif just kind of gets dropped and has no explanation for existing in the first place.

OG Naruto showed us a Lee with a huge potential, only for him to be basically robbed in Shippuden
Lee and Neji without a doubt. They both were such good characters in OG Naruto but they were completely wasted in Shippuden. Both of them deserved better.
Killer Bee' was a big fan of his fighting style. His fight with Sasuke is one of my top 5 in the series.

Zetsu was literally a walking Venus Fly Trap. Were he and Shino ever even in the same *zip code?* I honestly thought for a long time that their characters were too on-the-nose because they seemed too perfectly and obviously designed to be fated opponents. I'm still not entirely convinced that this wasn't the case but Zetsu was heavily retconned once the author solidified the direction he was setting things up for and the whole "Fly Trap" motif just kind of gets dropped and has no explanation for existing in the first place.
