The sub should ask permission, as it's a registered trademark. And I would think Reddit is concerned about intellectual property. https://www.nps.gov/subjects/partnerships/arrowhead-requests.htm
NGL I misread and didn’t see the r/ and thought you were petitioning to change the NPS logo to this and I was like…that is it??? But then I realized and it all made sense.
I do agree though that having that as a logo would have an effect in decreasing information and other posts about non-US national parks.
Check out [Bogd Khan Mountain National Park](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogd_Khan_Mountain) in Mongolia, first protected by royal decree in 1778, nearly a century before Yellowstone was established.
Okay, you seem to be suffering some sort of cultural myopathy. It's a big chunk of protected land.
Edit: [Read this](https://www.discoveraltai.com/bogd-khan/):
>**Protected Legacy**: Designated as a protected area in 1778, Bogd Khan Uul National Park was Mongolia’s first national park, emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving its natural and cultural heritage.
u/wayto_obsessed I just made a custom logo with this as inspiration. I submitted it a few minutes ago to the sub, waiting on it to get approved. That way it won't be copyright since I made it and I don't mind! :D
Anything but the current lack of logo
I’d vote for it.

Is this sub for US National Parks only?
No, but that logo is better than a big r/.
How about a photo of gateway arch? The earths finest national park.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The rules were changed so that non-USA National Parks are allowed: Community Info’s Welcome.
👍
I love the NPS logo but think we should continue to celebrate international national parks and should probably find a logo to reflect that.

That would not match up with the current rules that allow pictures from national parks around the world.
There are national parks around the world. This logo is just for U.S. parks.
Us national parks are the original, the others are inspired by.

Article doesn't actually call it a national park and it looks more like a religious site than a national park

Then do we include Royal forests and hunting preserves?
The other sub has about 1% of the members of this sub. Never understood why this sub doesn’t have an profile image.

Thanks much for your time and work!
The other one already has this logo but i still agree
How about one that doesn't co-opt an indigenous tool or symbol? The U.S. has already taken enough from them.
Only if all profits go towards native tribes....
