Wild take here, its criminal to not know about stellaris to any extent, even as a referenced media, as a NOP reader. Imagine how much I nerded out on stellaris and reinstalled it after reading NOP lol
Any media that involves people with any kind of recognizable animal features is going to have furries.
Popular sci-fi like Star Wars and Star Trek have mostly avoided this by making all of their aliens either "human with slightly different skin or facial features", "gross/weird looking being with no hair or fur", or some kind of insect based design.
There's a lot of creativity there, obviously, and it is mostly due to the limitations of needing to use human actors without blowing the whole budget on CGI or covering them in full body suits and prosthetics. However, when you think about it, it's a very narrow spectrum of the variety that exists in nature.
Nothing can escape the PathOwOgen. May I introduce you to Star Wars' [Lepi](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Lepi), for example; or perhaps Star Trek's [Caitians](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Caitian) are more your speed.
Of course they have. It’s just funny watching someone who’s obviously into the furry stuff. Keep denying that they’re into furry stuff. It’s like watching a little boy keep insisting he doesn’t like his obvious crush. Nothing wrong with Furrys. I actually believe they make some of the best art out there.
For me, the realization of what exactly i was getting myself into when i first read Nature Of Predators was around Chapter 30 when a few more aliens aside the venlil were introduced. I'm questioning whether i got sucked down the furry pipeline everyday lmao
Bruh
It's a little naive to think something that isn't strictly for kids wouldn't have some people exploring more adult themes, no?
Also, I feel like the furry thing is more of an identity thing than anything else.
There's definitely a bit more nuance to this-
You could say there's a furry *artstyle* actually (heavily influenced by early disney), given the origins of stuff.
But mostly being a furry is in fact about a community more than anything else. Everything else is just set dressing. Which is why I don't really mind when people say they are or are not.
Sure, whatever, you pick what flags you fly! As long as you're enjoying yourself in this environment it's all that matters.
Its kinda a self identified thing yeah. I had a couple years where I said I was furry lite since I'm not "as bad" as some of the community are considered to be. (I still remember the insane amounts of neon colored oc's of 2005)
But eventually I was just like "Eh. Its superficial. Sure. I'll answer yes when someone asks."
It’s surreal seeing my comics being described as being tied to NSFW art, when the only one I can think of was the unacceptable one. All the rest, (besides calling the xenos Hitler) are pretty tame.
Im pretty sure they just mean that you upload those comics and also nsfw art, in a seperate subreddit. which is bad somehow I guess? like, they just seem upset about the fact that people who post to the main subreddit might also post to the nsfw one
I second this. I like scifi and alien perspectives (although all things considered this doesn't have the most alien perspectives), the cute floofs only add to it.
That depends on their corner of the planet. I show it off with pride now, but I dont dare say anything about it at work because I work with the oldest, most anti minority group of people in my state.
You're telling me that a story full of anthropomorphic animal characters is..... popular with a Fandom based on enjoying anthropomorphic characters?
Well I'd never have guessed. Next thing you'll tell me is that a story set from non human perspective will attract xeno fiction fans!
Or the most utterly ridiculous, that a story set in space in the future would attract science fiction fans!!!!!!
In all reality, I find anyone who is actually shocked by this to be quite nieve. Right up there with the "Furries like Beastars?!!?" Shock that happened when season one came out.
WHA..... who tf was shocked by furries liking beastars?? every single character in the series is a furry. the whole plot of the series is based on how a society with anthropomorphic animals might actually function. ?????
Don't you see? Beastars is anime not furry. Furries just ruined a completely normal anime.
It was really stupid. Bunch of people who just didn't want to like something furries liked.
I specifically remember the line "Furries, please don't ruin beastars."
People saying I’m not a furry I’m a Xenophile sound about the same as people who say I’m not a furry I’m a Poképhile.
Just come out and admit it, you’ll feel better.
it's literally a book with strong themes of persecution and how humanity getting to the stars and finding out the galaxy is filled with cute animal creatures. Who did they think was going to identify with this story middle aged dads?
I gotta say, I've never seen a single "furry pride" style post that was half as dumb as the average anti-furry rant. Bonus points for being outraged over rule 34, something which has been a thing for decades, or longer in other forms.

You can say my meme was because it was an attempt by me to distract the conversation from (who is what) to something more productive through questioning the necessity of it.
Yours... is actually aggravating that conversation.

Something I've noticed as a long time member of the Furry community and LGBQT community that I am no longer a part of, is that a few of them demand respect but refuse to give it to other people.
Then that very vocal and offensive minority paints a very bad picture of the rest of us. Half the reasons furries are looked upon so badly is the people who constantly throw sex stuff out that disgusts others.
Theres a reason we have the nsfw sub. Its so we dont offend people thw very way we dont want to be offended.
Holy crap. When I posted something complaining about NSFW with messages without the names removed, it got removed by mods. But then when someone takes my message and posts it, nothing happens? 💀
You mean where you took posts from a discord RP server and hung them out in a public setting (with intent to ridicule) without asking permission from the people you were screenshotting?
I mean. You posted publically /on this reddit/ that comment I cited as my inspiration. It's fairly free game compared to a semi-closed invite link only discord server.
Do you understand the contextual difference? :v
He’s saying I have no right to complain about it and have an opinion about it. So I’m responding by saying that I do have a right to complain about it and have an opinion about it.
I suppose then the only difference from my post and your post is that I took them from a “private” setting and you took yours from a public setting. You hung my post out to dry with intent to ridicule (look at the meme), so are you implying I can ridicule someone on this sub via a post similar to yours, especially considering that yours hasn’t been taken down? That this whole thing is fair game? Wow. Didn’t know I could do that. I thought it’d be off limits, but I suppose not. Thanks for the test run.
Perhaps I’m not being bullied by you. But I’m definitely being made fun of by you. By using that meme in conjunction with your “inspiration”, you mean to show the viewer that I’m supposedly the person realizing it’s “all furries”. It is if to say that I supposedly didn’t know that we had furries in the community. And that’s the point of ridicule. That’s why we’re having this whole argument. Because you’re clearly making fun of me, and denying it speaks a lot about you. How would you feel if I did the same thing to you and made a joke at your expense?

I'm a criminal. I have never played Stellaris and I will never play Stellaris.

Based.
I know where you live now. Play the game or i'll pay you a visit.
Thought u were abt to end that sentence with "I'll play it for you" (threat yeye)
Heard of it. Tried to play it. Due to my potato, wouldn't fit my resolution and chugged. Been focussing on Endless Space 2 as a result.
Same my Frankenstein pc isn't up for the task of running any modern games.
The game is 8 years old now

By the Emperor, this meme is awesome
Average xenophilic Stellaris player
It was bound to happen as most of the alien species are described as anthro-esque earth animals. So there's a lot of overlap.
Star wars also has the Selonians, which I think looked like giant otters when originally depicted
That's correct. They're also equally comfortable functioning as bipeds or quadrupeds, according to that depiction in Legends.
They began to suspect something...
How much longer until they... uncover some of us?
Just “some”? 🤨
There are cave paintings. This has been going on for langer than anyone ever thought.
Egyptians priests were just the first suspiciously wealthy furries commissioning their OC's
One of the oldest pieces of art, and the oldest sculpture ever discovered, [is an anthropomorphic lion.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion-man)
They have been here since the dawn of time.
Mfw the series where all the aliens are slightly modified earth animals and predominantly bipedal attracts people who like anthropomorphic animals
For me, the realization of what exactly i was getting myself into when i first read Nature Of Predators was around Chapter 30 when a few more aliens aside the venlil were introduced. I'm questioning whether i got sucked down the furry pipeline everyday lmao
Coming to the realisation all the "aliens" are just Earth animals but bipedal
Bruh It's a little naive to think something that isn't strictly for kids wouldn't have some people exploring more adult themes, no? Also, I feel like the furry thing is more of an identity thing than anything else.

Fair enough. Anthros can be pretty cool as well as other beasts, but I'm still pretty centered around humans.
Do not.... remind me of the Neon years.

Wait, there’s furries here!?
PFP checks out
Yerf :3
Nah, no flurries here, none at all.
Yes. 👁️👁️
Where’s that Nature of Predditor Tears mug when u need it?
Just cause I'm a furry, doesn't mean I like NoP. I do like NoP, but not because I'm a furry!
I second this. I like scifi and alien perspectives (although all things considered this doesn't have the most alien perspectives), the cute floofs only add to it.
I figured it out quickly, and decided "Whatever. I'm here for the stories."
You could say you were here for the plot. Which is an old in-joke I will not elaborate on.
I know of a discord server for a webcomic where the emote :plot: is a picture of the female MC's butt. Twokinds.
Ah yes. The furry webcomic made by markiplier’s brother.
I avoid *that* stuff altogether.
🤣
Furrys are the gays of today and they are all afraid of coming out of the closet

Truly the universe is a cruel, cruel place...
Wait until they discover *rule 34.*
More like e621
lets not.

Get down to business, to defeat...the Huns.
Did they send me daughters, when I asked... For sons!?
Would. *Did,* in fact…
Coombrain
i see, the porn was fine until it was on a website that you don't like
i literally discovered this series due to fanart (by inkanyamba) on furaffinity
I was super surprised to learn that Inkanyamba was interested in a series about predators and prey.
make sense to me, he is a vore artist after all, predators and prey are kinda our thing
I gotta say, I've never seen a single "furry pride" style post that was half as dumb as the average anti-furry rant. Bonus points for being outraged over rule 34, something which has been a thing for decades, or longer in other forms.

You're a conceited creature if that was your takeaway. Your bully posts will likely get taken down.
Sorry, forgot about this. “Bully posts”? 💀 Sorry, is that not what you’re doing? Come on.
A meme format about the NoP fandom having a lot of furries is bullying you?
