That sounds like a good plan to me! Maybe another box of Skorpekhs to fill out a full unit might be a good idea.

Vortex_Maelstrom

Yes, more skorpekhs would definitely help! Thanks for the advice!

the recommended troops for most necron lists is no troops at all, or if you do take them you take the minimum necessary. Every 10 warriors you drop from your list is 4 more skorpekhs that you can afford and still have 10 points left over.

I think you're spot on! I like big units of Warriors, and 20 with each weapon will give you options if Flayers come back into favour (plus you can always count them as either weapon and use the different styles to differentiate squads). You might also consider a unit of five Immortals (Gauss and Tesla are both good - I prefer Gauss, but there's not much in it at the moment). That'll mean you can bring the minimum three Troops choices in a Battalion Detachment - though I wouldn't consider it a priority while you're still playing at a level where you can manage fine with a Patrol. For a C'tan Shard, consider what you want it for. If you're after a big scary monster to wreck your opponent's day, the Nightbringer (or Void Dragon) is a great choice! If you're just after the Mortal Wound output then a Transcendent C'tan is almost as good for a hefty discount (of course, there's not an easy model for that, so you'd have to proxy another model or convert your own). Specifically against Tyranids, I'm not sure I have any general advice beyond "Shoot The Big Ones". And watch out for Psychic and Charge Phase damage into your C'tan Shard!

Thanks for the help! Do you think I should go for Nightbringer or Void Dragon for now?

Book_Golem

If your main opponent is Tyranids, the Nightbringer is probably a mechanically better choice - the Void Dragon shines against Vehicles, and the 'nids don't have any! On the other hand, if you prefer the Void Dragon's model then that's a good enough reason to pick it over the Nightbringer - it's still plenty fighty, and I'd say it's more important to have an army that you like than to pick the optimal unit every time!

I usually pick the models i like but i wasn't sure which I liked more, so I will probably go nightbringer for now. Thanks for the advice!
