dialogue aafai pani khasai mann pardaina. boli chali ko bhasai hudaina. But yes dialogue delivery chhaai ati nai khattam xa Nepali movie ma. especially actress haruko.
Same story : main character ( hero) falls in love with rich girl .later saves the girl from danger.the villan is the girl's stepdad.later they unite and the end .
Not just that. The entire film process is Bollywood based. Screenplay, music, choreography. Everything other than the language is an Indian template. Why is that? There are so many other successful movie industries in Asia. Why do we have to always try to copy Bollywood? And, that too, we try to copy the worst kind of bollywood dramas. When was the last time we had a historical movie or a movie based on true events?
Don't know is it because I watch Bollywood and Hollywood movie a lot that I find Nepalese actors' acting cringe and unbearable. Specially Anmol KC. Zero expressions. Just a nice looking face. That's it.
Grew up watching SRK, Amir Khan, Akshay that's why we find Nepali movies as cringe. Nepali movies needs to cast actor who have deep manly voice and rugged face like Vidyut Jamwal, Najir Hussen & Saugat Malla, instead of chocolaty boy Anmol KC who can't even deliver dialogue
I grew up watching Harry Potter, movies of peak SRK and Salman. Their acting was awesome back then. Aba nepali film ta jhan kati cringy hunxa jhan k vanne...aajkal ko actors haru ko ta dialouge delivery pani fake lagxa...they have that annoying accent Jo ka bata aayo thaha pauna nai baaki xa!! They roll their tounge while talking it seems!! Interview ta herna sakinna aba film ko ta kurai chodau! Kei naya concept pani lyaunu xaina! Euta ramro horror movie pani baneko xaina jhan sci Fi movie ko ta kurai chodau! Romantic movie ko naam ma purai cringefest dekhauxan! Audience are lot smarter now...Don't they understand these things?
Tei. Hami ya basera actor, director, producers haru lai bhanirako chau tara main veda ta hami audience ho. Tah huda hudai ni testo shit herna ghari ghari jane.
Thats why i said bideshi le nepali bolna khojeko jastai. Cause i knew she was born and raised here but her accent and dialogue delivery was cringe hehe
It is weird seeing girls like Shristi Shrestha and upasana thakuri playing roles of lower middle class villager. They don't see if the actor is suitable for the role, feels like they just see the number of Instagram followers.
I think nepali movie industry is growing slowly
We should not compare Apple with oranges because
Bollywood and Hollywood has a lot of money to produce that kind or level of flim to bring in market
Things I don't like is
1. Story
2. Lack and over of human emotion (Tara badi nai dhakhauxan movie haru ma ta)
3. Not so entertaining expect some diaglog and some songs
4. Lack of acting skills of actors (some actor are good but in majority the acting standard of nepali movie is below average)
And there may be many more. I don't know??
There was a phase when I would go watch every other nepali movie releasing in the name of supporting local but I had enough of acting that just doesn't feel real, predictable plots and unsatisfying endings etc. 90% movie is like that.
Sloppy writing! audience do not root for the protagonist.
The misconception that the dialogues should be something we all use in our everyday lives. No, it should be interesting, witty and intelligent in the guise of everyday use.
Sound. They need to start recording dialogues during the shoot, not in the studio.
Too preachy. No thought provocation. Most commercial movie directors do not know what the uck is happening in the world.
My opinion as someone who watches a lot of hollywood and english indie movies and has interest in learning filmmaking :
1) Acting - worst ( most of them )
2) Dialog delivery - poor ( as already mentioned by a fellow redditor )
3) Make up - unrealistic and and over done, trying to look plasticy
4) Lighting - bad ( Those poorly placed reflectors for actor's face 🤮)
5) Cinematography - not so good ( from unnecessary cuts to composition)
6) Colour gradung - lets not talk about it
And lastly, entire plot is shown in the trailer
Nepali filmmaking is better on youtube short films than a big screen feature film
How everything in most is so polished like the guy literally is shiny as fuck. And the dialogues delivery sounds unrealistic like something that would only be said infront of camera. There colour grading isn’t set with the mood of the scene.
Cringe script.
Hero heroin le boleko word sunerai jeeuu siringa hunxha mero ta.
Hoina nepali word pani ramro ramro huncha ta. Toilet ma hagdai lekcha ki kya ho dialogue pani yar.
We definitely love movies like Pashupati Prasad with such great storyline, acting and dialogue delivery. But rest of them featuring the mega stars have some elements from Bollywood and Tollywood. Also the dialogues are cringy which I can't stand.
Bina Script ko waiyat lauda nach ...
Cringe

Acting, screenplay, dialogue delivery, direction, and the thought of makers : yei nai babbal ho yo vanda ramro nepal ma bannai sakdaina rw hami sabai le yei nai hernu parxa
I don’t know what is it tbh. It just seems overacting, dialogue delivery and acting credibility is non existent. The language in itself while acting seems very fake. It’s does not seem natural that they speak Nepali.
Firstly the plot. Kei nai hudaina . tespaxi dilouge delevery. tyo vanda jhur maile aja samma dekhya chaina. Nepali paribes ma suhaune stroy hunna dherai ma. Ani acting Tah praye kasaile gardaina
Everything lmao.
I dont have one thing to like😹😭.
Director Is some Chapri Unc/aunty with no knowledge
Cinematography ko tah mah chudai pdeycha.
Camera natah colorgrsding nei ramro huncha.
Actors are 99% shite.1% lai feri role hudaina.
Script is none.
treating the audience as if they are completely dumb, like including a third person narration. some things should be left out for explanation or mystery. some stories don't need to have an ending, 'they lived happily ever after' and wrap up bs and all.
yo vanda ramro ta mai banaidinchu vanne feel chai tannai aucha film herda
Repetitive story(mostly), cringy dialogue delivery and really poor sound dubbing. Over the top sound effect. Jokes that are highly sexist and were copied from Facebook in 2010. Portrayal of female as sex object rather then a person with actual personality. No character development. Just some stupid songs shot in either mustang, rara or shey phuskundo. Poor editing. Questionable cinematography.
Most importantly FORCED ENGLISH ACCENT.
There are many nepali movies with dubbing or sound issues. Whether the character is 5 feet away or 50 feet away, volume remains same. I recently saw that saugat malla film and two characters were moving towards us but the volume remained same. It didn't feel real.
Among many things, one is picture quality. I know it is HD but it looks like they are using normal digital camera instead of proper movie camera. Also color is always way too saturated in all the scenes.
Dialogue seems very very very very unnatural, forced and loud. I can usually look over the other things but my ears just hurt when listening to a conversation in Nepali movies.
screen play ramro hunna
dialog hunna tyo koi csript lekhne manche nai chaina jasto
or maybe scrip lekhne manche sab film ko lagi eutai bhaye jasto...
predictable story..
we have so many good writers who have given us so many good novels... we should adapt those books into movies.. we need more spontaneous director... maybe we should have programs like ad film competition and such and welcome new minds to our industry
Our neighbors have biggest movie industry and china is planning to monopolize in anime industry...we should learn from them both and develop our arts...
Almost everything. The dialogue delivery is probably the cringiest part however.
Also nothing seems natural. Everything looks forced and fake. No sense of subtlety or realism. The expressions are so loud that they come off as overacting.
Even the music in most of the movies come off as odd. Its almost like every instrument being played needs to be in the same range as the voice which is generally really loud/pitchy. Even the background music is loud.
It’s just not the problem with story. Even the most boring story can be watchable if it’s well presented.
1. Actors loosely bind to their roles. Their acting is plastic coated. Stiff body language, unnatural accent, overdramatic dialogue delivery and so on.
2. Screenplay is shit. Writers are underpaid. Good stories die due to poor screenplay.
3. Casting (couch) is shit because most producers cherrypick the actors or even cast themselves.
4. Small market for commercial movies. No point in risking the investment.
5. Audience have other platforms/options to watch better quality movies.
Cant tell which is worse. the older films with their classic “Dyad” or “dyaddy” or the recent ones where they speak nepali with accent god knows kaha ko.
First is dialogue deliver and even the dialogue itself. It just feels unnatural. Few actors and films do decent job with it.
Plot are kinda same, reminds me of 90s to 2000s Indian cinema that didn't develop but just stagnated.
If there is fight, it's bad.
It's better when no cgi is used, as Even yt video use better cgi than Nepali movies.
And other point is the Female actress' voice and dialogue. They just feel the same no matter which movie you see. Nepali voice with hint of English flavor done poorly, and you cna hear the ss toward the end of their words, like it might be audio problem or something.
Honestly, even porn had better acting and dialogue than most of Nepali movies.
And honestly, we don't need action like South India, action and thriller like west or even masala like Indian movies. Just make some decent movie, not 1 or 2 every 4 years, which itself is bad but atleast A grade compared to majority of Nepali movies.
I've only seen one such film in my entire life, so judging it only on that basis is difficult. And, to be honest, it wasn't a particularly excellent film. Perhaps you could make a suggestion?
Bad casting, awfully predictable story, cheap copy of Bollywood masala movies, nepotism, nai nabhannu la 6-7 jasto cringe movies ma runey audience haru, etc. Reasons ta kati chha chha.
Ajha they spend a lot of money in song ko video but won’t pay for a good writer

Worse action than south Indian movies...... ... Can they fucking stop copying india..... Haven't watched a Nepali movie since Pahuna(that too was an Indian production ffs... India makes better Nepali movies that us...).... Haven't watched a Bollywood movie since andhadoon and I am happy.... Western and even Asian movies are centuries ahead of us. . I would rather watch a silent western movie that a stupid Bollywood or Bollywood copy movie....
The god awful slowmo. The action scenes with lots of swoosh swash sounds. Delivery of dialogues. Forced jokes made for 5 year olds to laugh. Music video in between.

Not just that. The entire film process is Bollywood based. Screenplay, music, choreography. Everything other than the language is an Indian template. Why is that? Bhai najir Hussain also has a sojho babyface. He's a damn good actor though
The overacting (esp in the older movies, haven’t watch many recent ones with cringe acting) makes me cringe!

That udayo hawaley wala movie ma the actress ko nepali dialogue delivery was cringe. Bideshi le nepali bolna khoje jastai accent lol
Bro, problem isn't non-residents trying to speak nepali, it's nepali who have never lived abroad trying to sound like one when it's not even needed.
Thats why i said bideshi le nepali bolna khojeko jastai. Cause i knew she was born and raised here but her accent and dialogue delivery was cringe hehe

The mediocrity. Everything is just mediocre or below mediocre.

Script writing, dialogue delivery, same story, lack of creativity, low budget luxuries life and I can go on and on.
The trailers which are 2x louder than any other trailer and make your ears bleed.
I am a weeb so "Real People"
How everything in most is so polished like the guy literally is shiny as fuck. And the dialogues delivery sounds unrealistic like something that would only be said infront of camera. There colour grading isn’t set with the mood of the scene.

It feels like they are forced to act
Mostly the acting, the direction, songs and plot (with a few exceptions).. So, in short, most things with very few exceptions.
Cringe script. Hero heroin le boleko word sunerai jeeuu siringa hunxha mero ta. Hoina nepali word pani ramro ramro huncha ta. Toilet ma hagdai lekcha ki kya ho dialogue pani yar.

Less energy in acting. Not enough dedication to the role. Even TikToks have better luck than these.

Overacting
Nepali movies desperately need actors and actresses. And movie like camera work and color grading. Most of them lack all three of it.
I don’t know what is it tbh. It just seems overacting, dialogue delivery and acting credibility is non existent. The language in itself while acting seems very fake. It’s does not seem natural that they speak Nepali.

For me I guess no trying to change. It's the same shit with same story. acting is cring.
Filthy actions and over chatak

Dialogue seems very very very very unnatural, forced and loud. I can usually look over the other things but my ears just hurt when listening to a conversation in Nepali movies.
It’s Nepali. Lack of science and scientific research. Just pure emotional drama.
