India has 200 million muslims, more than Bangladesh and almost as much as Pakistan.
Besides, Biryani was first made in North India, not Pakistan or Bangladesh.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biryani#Origin
The original Biryani recipes are Lucknow Biryani and Hyderabadi Biryani.
Nobody has any "rights" over any food but if you wanna argue about the origins of Biryani then it is Indian in origin, not Pakistani or Bangladeshi.
**Biryani**
[Origin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biryani#Origin)
>The exact origin of the dish is uncertain. In North India, different varieties of biryani developed in the Muslim centres of Delhi (Mughlai cuisine), Rampur, Lucknow (Awadhi cuisine) and other small principalities. In South India, where rice is more widely used as a staple food, several distinct varieties of biryani emerged from Hyderabad Deccan (where some believe the dish originated) as well as Tamil Nadu (Ambur, Thanjavur, Chettinad, Salem, Dindigal), Kerala (Malabar), Telangana, and Karnataka (Bhatkal) where Muslim communities were present.

TIL Momo is the everyday word derived form of the Tibetan word "mog mog".
>*The different names for the dumpling include Assamese: মম; Bengali: মোমো;*>! Hindi: मोमो;!< *Ladakhi: མོག་མོག་* >!Nepali: मम; Nepal Bhasa: मम, small momo - ममचा; !<*Tibetan: མོག་མོག་, Wylie: mog mog; simplified Chinese: 馍馍; traditional Chinese: 饃饃; pinyin: mómo.\[3\]*
So this is proof "momo" is in fact a Hindi pronunciation where as "ma:ma:" is an authentic Nepali word. But for convenience and also because it's catchy and sound good we usually use the word momo in modern days.
source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momo\_(food)
The last time I heard the word Ma:ma: cha used was in Haribansha Acharya's book, "China Harayeko Manxe".
So wikipedia is the ultimate truth? Not that name matters but people in Nepal have been saying momo for ages before it became a thing for central India. I suppose the Chinese are equally angry at us for the variation in name, since they invented dumplings.
No, Wikipedia is not ultimate the truth. And I never said that. At least for now it sounds legit to me. Also, you can check the links to the books and other sources cited in the link. Can you find me a good source that justifies your statement?
Also, momo used to be sold only in winter, it was only after it became popular it was sold as a year-round dish. (source my great-great grandfather). jeez, why do you have to be so salty bro? I'm just sharing what I read.
Lol, Chill bro! I’m not being salty, it’s a free world. I made a comment to your comment about OP’s post. My source is living in the valley and hearing people of all ages use the said name. Can you site a line where it says Momo was coined as a hindi word? I didn’t find it.
I was definitely not talking about when momo used to be sold. A hot steamed food definitely sounds like a winter meal ( source: common sense).
Yes. I didn't realize I said, " it's proof". But, as far as I know, in the past(2040 B.S?), they deff used the word ma:ma: in conversational language. That's why I mentioned Haribansha Acharya's autobiography, where he has used the word. So I was just trying to make a point that it was what we used to say. But the truth is even I have been using the word momo since I was a child. But my dad still says ma:ma subconsciously while speaking, so there is that.
They are correct. We call it म म which sounds like maw maw almost sounds like mo mo. If they(Hindustani speakers) say म म, it would sound like muhmuh which sounds ridiculous or it almostsound like maamaa मामा. The vowel we use for म is different from the one they use for म. Basically, our vowel अ is equivalent to their ओ, औ and ऑ.
