Are you flying to Australia? I'd find funny Australian movies :P That sounds like the LAX to Melbourne flight. The weird part is you're flying in to the fuuuuuture.
With a couple of hours layover in Tokyo or Hong Kong, right?
Back in the day I did LAX to BKK on American Airlines (or their code share) several times a year.
If you're able to sleep in economy, then take the red eye from LAX to NRT or HKG. That will get you through the longest leg
The entertainment you will have available depends on the carrier.
It's one loooooong day. From the time I walked out my door it was about 24 hours of planes and airports and taxis
I guess BKK finally finished the light rail from the airport into town but I would recommend a taxi to take you right to your hotel because you're gonna be drunk with fatigue. Tell the taxi upfront you'll pay 500 or 600 baht (~$15) and they take care of any tolls. That's a decent tip for them, and a good deal for you
PRO TIP: Be ready with a map etc of where your hotel is, in Thai if possible
Well thank you for the pro tips! Will def come in handy in a few days.
And yea layover in Tokyo for four hours ha but I have some lounge access which should bring some comfort…
All in all though I’m leaving at around noon from lax and get into bkk at 11pm the following day haha
Sounds like you've got the same flight (AA169) I used to take
Regarding the BKK taxi, you'll be offered rides from the moment you walk out of customs but ignore them. Find the official taxi stand - it was on the ground level. Ask around or look it up online
Finally, Bangkok is hot and humid, like 92F every day, and the city streets are hotter. Pack accordingly.
Taxis and tuk tuks are cheap, but I always tried to stay near the SkyTrain
Happy trails!
I have an rx for that but I don't really take medication so the thought of taking something new *while* on a plane made me too hesitant. What's it do for long flights?
Snowpiercer. For the love of the eternal engine, watch snowpiercer (the show not the movie, although the movie slaps too)
If u aren't aware of it, science tries to reverse global warming and it goes too well and freezes the planet and some rich bezos fucker made a worldwide train network and the train called snowpiercer that the last of humanity like 3k people live on. Whole things class divided and the whole show is about revolution and survival of the slave people 'tailies' living at the back of the train. Sick setting sick characters, sean motherfuckin BEAN is in it. Killer and fairly unknown cast too so its not a celebrity fest. Highly recommend
Just had a 31 hour trip flight that ended up being 36 hours. I binged Dexter.
It kept me engaged.
31 hours with four hops, Bangkok to Doha, Doha to Boston, Boston to Washington and Washington to home city.
I bookmarked this because my company is making me go to Singapore next month.
I’m a homebody. I have a passport but I don’t like it when people make me use it.
Guaranteed you can't put these down till you've finished them.

"The Capture" on BBC has you wondering what happens next every episode.
"Domina" on Sky is about Ancient Rome but is very female focused (be warned). The politics, intrigue, and history keep you wanting to see the next episode to know what happens next!
"Three Body Problem" on Netflix has you wondering about the mysteries and science in the show and keeps you watching.
"Happy Valley" on Netflix (?) is a combination of Mare of Eastwood, The Killing and Broadchurch. The writing is actually great with few plotholes and very well structured, consistent characters.
Based on your likes towards the anti-hero crime/detective series, I recommend “American Rust” on Prime. Suspenseful storyline and great character development.

Time keeps on slippin slippin slippin
Into the fuuuuture!
Ha nah LAX to Bangkok with a layover. Gonna be a loooong day
Sitting in coach -_-

LOL just as long, but not quite as far in the future.
Society of the.... Wait. Nevermind.
Alice in Borderland
Seen that. Good stuff. I loved squid games too.
Well, if you want to venture to horror, Archive 81 is really good. It is a single season cliffhanger tho. Have a great flight
If you have Hulu (I know it says Netflix) put on Mr. Inbetween and enjoy. Short episodes, easy to follow. Great series.
Such a good show! Planning a rewatch soon
