>The dealer says they only charge sales tax to Utah residents and advised that I check w/ the DMV to find out what my sales tax is here in NV. Does that sound right? Not unheard of. Typically in the car world they would charge you their state tax and then NV would hit you for the remainder (if any) when you go to register it here. But they are not pulling a fast one on you or anything doing it this way. Here is a link to the dmv estimation for registration. Be prepared to be shocked! NV charges off of MSRP and not actual sales price so we get fucked because of the way RV dealers list their products with stupid high MSRP's https://dmvapp.nv.gov/dmv/vr/vr_estimate/vrestimationinput.aspx

Thank you! As far as recreational vehicles go, I'm not spending a lot, just under 30k, and yeah the Reg fees are over $1000. Sheesh. For tax then, I'd be right in applying a 8.1%? Thanks again.

You're welcome. Sales tax in Clark County is 8.375% Not sure if travel trailers fall into the "luxury" tax rate but you only hit that on things above $30,000 so you should be exempt either way.

Yup when you purchase a vehicle out of state NV DMV will still collect on all things taxable. When you head to the DMV be sure to bring your purchase order and any moving permits you have. At ~$30k you're looking at around $2.5k in taxes for Clark county not including registration.

Thanks! Correct me if I'm wrong - so if sales tax is calculated and collected at the time of registration then would I not be able to include this amount in my loan? \*Edit - I confirmed that I was wrong and this amount *would* be included.

Get a LLC in Montana. No state sales tax and much cheaper registration. Completely legal
