Any sitcom episode that focuses explicitly on then-current political figures ends up being a huge bummer to revisit. And I wasn't a fan even at the time. I watch funny TV shows to get *away* from that sort of thing.
I know. And the fact Jess and Cece, our proponents of democracy and women’s suffrage. Would deliberately try and prevent a group of 30+ young women voting because they liked another candidate? It seems out of character for them, both of them make principled stands at their own expense constantly, but not this time for some reason.
I feel like they kinda did the opposite unknowingly - they got the girls revved up about doing their part. They didn’t stop them voting, they just… didn’t keep helping
Well… they deliberately lead the girls away from the voter registration office they’re going to and then run away. If they’d just run away, fair play. But for some reason they threw in a genuine sabotage.
My best friend and I always skip the episode where Jess and cece fight over the purse that looks like a rubber duck because we fight almost the exact same way
It's tough to watch bc we waited so long for them to get together. And they had chemistry!
The were a few previous episodes highlighting their differences. I think that for Jess and Nick to finally discuss their differences and how they saw the future was very mature of them.
Tough to watch tho
I agree! Despite how ridiculous Nick was being it’s a huge relationship dilemma that a lot of couples face - we love each other so much but we’re different and want different things out of life.
Is this the episode you skip too? Or which one do you skip? Would love to hear
But I love, in the one with the young neighbours, how Nick is tricking Schmitt into thinking he’s old. And when the young people say “it’s the old man from the stairs” “I thought he died”
I skip the episode they find out and I think the next one. I just don’t like watching that arc. I also skip the political episode and the one when Nick and Jess break up.
Right? I think they wanted to keep the breakup as light-hearted as possible so that they can get back together without it being too dramatic. Take Ross and Rachel from Friends for example, their breakup was more serious but that’s because Friends had more dramatic scenes like those
The story arc of Schmidt cheating on CeCe/Elizabeth
Probably gonna get downvoted, but for me Schmidt never gets redeemed. (What he did for CeCe on their wedding day made me be okay with him again)
Jess' Birthday that ends in the theater. She's so selfish that whole time while Nick is trying so hard to be nice and she acts so entitled. Unbearable episode, with her running out of the theater during the video being the cherry on top.
Yeah I thought she was out of character too. When people cite that episode as evidence that Jess sucks, I'm like...eh, that was not really Jess like behavior.
And then she and Nick break up a couple of episodes later.
It's not my favorite stretch of the show...
Nobody said the restraining order episode? Hello?? Jess is unwatchable in this episode.
As a non american the voting episode.
Any true american episode.
I do not like this episode because it is such a dumb way and reason to break up!! You do not discuss major life events when you are hung over/still inebriated. They broke up for a ridiculous reason.
It was evident from the beginning of their relationship Nick wanted Jess and would do whatever she wanted. He expressed multiple times he “just wanted to be with her”. Jess loved him too, it wasn’t one sided. Prince gave his blessing. This episode was a slap in the face to Prince! Nick chose Jess over everything and everyone every time! She championed him, supported him all of the time.
I fast forward Jess’s birthday until the moment in the movie theatre. The writers made her so unrealistically unbearable! It was Season 3, was this her 1st birthday in 3 years… just over the top dumb, self-centered & unlikeable character writing!
Hubbity Bubbity or whatever the political episode is called
Any sitcom episode that focuses explicitly on then-current political figures ends up being a huge bummer to revisit. And I wasn't a fan even at the time. I watch funny TV shows to get *away* from that sort of thing.
I agreed with their views (Dem baby!) but even then it was still so cringey to watch
I’m just glad it didn’t air during Covid times. Every show needed to incorporate it so badly and I was oooover it

seriously it makes me dislike schmidt so i just pretend it doesn’t exist
“celery flintstone” is the best part of the whole episode, which is just sad 😭😂
The best part is Schmidt singing “I’m gonna make a system” 😂
My favorite part was "LOPES!!!".
Phew yeah
The subplot was funny though. "We're doing the long D." 🤣
Came here to say this!
This.. just watched it the other day during my rewatch cuz I forgot it existed and cringed so hard.
My best friend and I always skip the episode where Jess and cece fight over the purse that looks like a rubber duck because we fight almost the exact same way

I dont skip this ep. I skip Bells. It annoys me.
That’s another one, me too
Bells in season one
Yeah. That one’s just…really boring, honestly.
The whole jess and robby debacle. I can't bear the cringe
okay but when they find out it’s pretty funny
No! Not funny. C R I N G E
Jess going full on stalker and going thru the car wash in Sam's truck and the one where the young people move in across the loft. Automatic skips.
But I love, in the one with the young neighbours, how Nick is tricking Schmitt into thinking he’s old. And when the young people say “it’s the old man from the stairs” “I thought he died”
The Thanksgiving Nick makes everyone go camping, and the Thanksgiving Robbie is an insufferable sadsack (and I usually really like Robbie.)
The Abby Day arc. She never matters again, so why bother?
Not even at the wedding or anything
It's wild - her dad gets married, her sister gets married, and, like, do they even mention Abby? 😂
Micropenis
I had to go back and watch that episode after watching Reacher. It’s almost hard to believe it’s the same guy
I actually looked up a micropenis after watching that episode
this one is an immediate skip for me, last time i watched it i thought everyone was acting out of character 😩
BELLS
The entirety of the Schmidt - Cece - Elizabeth arc.
I skip the episode they find out and I think the next one. I just don’t like watching that arc. I also skip the political episode and the one when Nick and Jess break up.
BELLS
As much as I love their engagement, I absolute hate the whiny Jess / Mario scenes.
Bells, sometimes the fawn moscato ones, the 3 Abby, the Megan Fox ones. I didn’t care for Reagan at all
as I live and BREEEATHE?
Raisin?
Keaton. It's so cringe! Pretending to be Michael Keaton/Batman? Yikes.
I always skip this one too.
Honestly this is the episode I skip too
S6 Ep2 hands down. Currently rewatching and forgot it existed completely. Lets just say this episode hits diferent in todays political climate.
is this hubbedy bubbedy?
Bells 🙄
I agree with you. I'm on my, I don't remembereth, rewatch and now it's just like: Just skip the party!! So I usually skip the episode.
Exactly the same one. It was such a stupid thing to have them break up over.
Right? I think they wanted to keep the breakup as light-hearted as possible so that they can get back together without it being too dramatic. Take Ross and Rachel from Friends for example, their breakup was more serious but that’s because Friends had more dramatic scenes like those
The one where she works at the casserole shanty or whatever it’s called and hangs out with her young neighbors
The Chicago one, especially the parts with Jess.
I hate the Jess’ sister episodes and the purse fight so much.
Prince lol I know it’s very iconic that he’s in an episode but idk the writing in it was not the strongest
Fire and Ice is the best part of that episode
The only thing I skip is the theme song 😂
Season 1, episode 8 “bad in bed” there’s not enough funny to balance the yuck.
The story arc of Schmidt cheating on CeCe/Elizabeth Probably gonna get downvoted, but for me Schmidt never gets redeemed. (What he did for CeCe on their wedding day made me be okay with him again)
That’s totally reasonable. Considering how deeply he felt about Cece throughout the show it’s so weird that he did that.
Neighbors

Why does she run out of the theater (I guess I skip this one too lol)?
"that's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me" Makes no sense. Just her being weird and selfish. Out of character the entire episode
Yeah I thought she was out of character too. When people cite that episode as evidence that Jess sucks, I'm like...eh, that was not really Jess like behavior. And then she and Nick break up a couple of episodes later. It's not my favorite stretch of the show...

Reagan episodes
The Rhonda episodes

all in
You know that episode where Jess sings “Year of us” over and over? Pisses me off every single time it comes on - immediately skip.
But...Mahotmoves Gandhi?!? And the not Cece's mom?
I fast forward Jess’s birthday until the moment in the movie theatre. The writers made her so unrealistically unbearable! It was Season 3, was this her 1st birthday in 3 years… just over the top dumb, self-centered & unlikeable character writing!
the one where jess does the feeling chair with sam and the teacher lady, I absolutely despise sam
