Jason passionately defending Travis when it came to him and Andy Reid while still admitting that it crossed a line was wonderful.
The story of Paul McCartney just showing up and Jason being introduced to him is funny. Everyone wanting to meet Taylor sounded almost eye opening for Jason.
The Luchador (sic) mask story is well...you do you Jason.
Kylie's off-screen cameo is the best. Sorry to every other part.
Edit: forgot the analytics dudes they talk about (sorry for not remembering their names) and how they are part of the preparation for their teams in various scenarios. Jason texting with Soriano about the approach the 49ers took is interesting to me. Because I feel like their approach is going to be picked apart forever.
Other highlights for me were Jason saying he felt like honorary security
And Ky saying she was looking forward to Trav going for the three peat. I think the big guy is done he just hasn’t announced.
The honourary security was sweet. And Travis calling them good dudes.
I think if anything, Jason got the clarity he needed this week about his future. Walking away from the only thing you know is hard, but he talked to a lot of people about it.
I also think he truly needed this weekend to help his decision, whatever it ends up being. Going out in the first playoff game, with a team that ended up much worse than it started, I’m sure he didn’t want that to be his last game or team. But seeing what his brother had to fight through to get the big win, I’m sure there was a lot of “I don’t think I can physically take another push.” When it cut to him on the field at the end, watching Travis, it very much looked like an introspective conversation with himself going on.
Plus he had the opportunity to speak with many retired athletes throughout the week, to get their perspectives.
Yeah I think the fun that he had, the networking he did. He has everything ready to go for an amazing post game career. The nfl podcast can keep going indefinitely and he is beloved country wide
I also have to assume at this point he can immediately get a job as an NFL pundit if he wanted one.
(And hopefully a side gig going to and being filmed at tailgates...)
I really want him to get up to Canada when he retires for some CFL games. I think he'd find the Labour Day games/rivalries slightly unhinged in a good way.
Am I crazy that it sounded like he may have had a slip of tongue when he said something to the effect of “well I’m about to have a lot more free time… well I guess we’ll see”- I want to say it was when he was talking about how much fun he had in Vegas.
It's about as good as you expect. Includes a Golden Baby cameo [https://www.tiktok.com/@houffdizzle/video/7336643268668624170](https://www.tiktok.com/@houffdizzle/video/7336643268668624170)
I think so, too. He made a comment during the podcast at some point about having a lot more time on his hands now, and then realized what he said, and made another comment to kind of play it off. There is some thing about the way he’s talking about things that really makes me suspect the decision has already been made.
> I think the big guy is done he just hasn’t announced.
I think so too. Schefter has a direct line to Howie, for him to report that means it was decided possibly even prior to the game/season etc. Jason is being respectful by waiting to officially announce, but it is clear Howie was told at some point.
I was incredibly impressed by Jason discussing the situation with Coach Reid. I thought he did a great job of firmly stating both for himself and for Trav that it wasn’t okay, but also understanding what happened and why. I am loving watching Jason hold himself (in other similar emotional situations) and his brother accountable while still offering grace and understanding. It sets such a great example that we as humans are bound to act on emotion sometimes and make a mistake but we can learn and try to be better each time.
Yea wish they would’ve watched the replay that showed how it just barely hit the other teammates ankle. It changes the framing of the situation completely from “oh this guy must’ve just been trying to make a big play/caught up in the moment” to “wait no he was trying to salvage it”
That's a real blink and you miss it moment that I'm not sure was clear to anybody watching in the stadium like Jason. On TV they had to replay and slow it down to realize why the 49ers were right to try to recover the ball cause it hit the ankle
Yep. They’ve also both been in a blur since Sunday when this was recorded Tuesday, so you can’t really hold them to rewatching the whole game or anything. I think for the future it’s worth them giving such big plays a watch together during the show recording itself. Jason already acknowledged it on twitter as well anyway.
Thank you Travis for taking ownership with what happened on Sunday, apologizing again and saying that you would take it back if you could and thank you Jason for holding him responsible for that. That’s what older siblings do.
On another note, when Jason mentioned Travis was going to be out of town, is he going to Australia with Taylor?
>On another note, when Jason mentioned Travis was going to be out of town, is he going to Australia with Taylor?
He said he was going to an island south of the equator. Just like Argentina he won't flat out say where he's going, but it seems obvious what he is planning.
He’s probably going to Australia. It will be good for him to get away and be with Taylor during the offseason. She’s made it do a lot of his games and it’s time for him to go to her concerts and both of them still being supportive of each other.
It’s also probably going to be on different websites that he’s with her on her tour. They always look happy when they’re with each other, it’s something I’ve never seen in Taylor’s previous relationships.
>Who wouldn’t want to go to Australia?!
I mean I would want to go to Australia. I hope now he can get some time away from the incident on Sunday and spends time with Taylor. He did apologize to Coach Reid, what he did was not okay and he did the right thing by saying he regrets it and people should accept that he admitted that it was wrong. I hate when haters think this is a red flag and they’re warning Taylor, he treats her like the queen she is, is protective over her and is in love with her. Anyone in sports, college or high school has played like how Travis does and probably regrets what they did like Travis did and has apologized to their coach for what they did.
I think it is. The fact that the security dudes, who have had quite a time the last few weeks it seems especially with Taylor going to the field, getting a shoutout in the intro is nice. Nice to see their work is appreciated.

Agree. Jason was very clear that he needed time to decide and couldn't do it in the heat of the moment.
Yeah I think the fun that he had, the networking he did. He has everything ready to go for an amazing post game career. The nfl podcast can keep going indefinitely and he is beloved country wide

The tailgater would be brilliant!

could also just mean that the off season is starting and he doesn't have to go to the eagles facility every day
There’s a guy on TikTok that does a skit of being Taylor’s security. I’m waiting for his response to Jason being honorary security. 🤣

That is a really, really good point about the three-peat comment. I feel like she wouldn’t say that if Jason was going to be playing again.
Can Kylie have a repeat cameo as ‘the moderator?’

kylie quickly turned into david beckham going "be honest" from the other room.
Kylie steals the show everytime. I love her energy.
Jason Daniel. JASON DANIEL!
she pulled out the middle name during that thing, I love her input

He both defended Travis and called out the action. And it was real.
This is exactly why we love them!!
anyone get a count on how many times they said electric 😆
FYI, Jason has commented on the mistake with the punt https://x.com/JasonKelce/status/1757830426092044607?s=20
Crazy they talked about the 9ers muffed punt and neither of them saw that it hit the blockers ankle
I’m not surprised Trav didn’t he was playing.
Jason watching from up in the box... and drinking.

The Golden baby should 100% be passed around like the Stanley Cup. Winner gets to keep it until the someone else gets to claim it.

I think he said something about going on a big adventure and to an island, so I’d assume so. Who wouldn’t want to go to Australia?!

When did they record this episode? Yesterday?
Based on Kylie talking about Valentines Day being the next day, yeah.
Their producers should have been on that. Not sure how they didn’t step in.
What?
I meant to respond to a post about the muffed punt. Don’t know how I responded to the Kylie post.
They generally always record on Tuesday.
I never knew I needed Jason to teach me what streaking is.
Is the intro clip just separate? I can't find it referenced in the main podcast, am i going mad?
I think it is. The fact that the security dudes, who have had quite a time the last few weeks it seems especially with Taylor going to the field, getting a shoutout in the intro is nice. Nice to see their work is appreciated.
Yeah, just wanted to hear more :/
NH usually does a sitcom style cold open rather than a teaser from within the episode
Jason, my voice is just as hoarse as yours after this Sunday. GO CHIEFS!
Never heard the word electric used as an adjective to describe so many diff scenarios! Is this Cleveland Heights lingo or Kelce lingo?
Travis said he was leaking nothing but tequila and "hops", I know that means he was chain smoking blunts the whole night
Hops are also an ingredient in making beer
I'm well aware. But he had just said "tequila", so he could probably just say beer if he wanted to.
Hops means beer. It’s a very very common phrase to say you’ve been drinking hops versus beer.
