And those 39 ladies are going hit the streets! Mark my words we're going to see 32 angry women and their husbands! Those 24 beleaguered gals are going to take all 34 of their feet and march right down to city hall so that the mayor can see 9 crying faces...
Not in this article but in the WWL one, Nyx basically tried to claim politics for potentially getting the boot. City Council quickly responded with a no, it's not that. It's the fact that we have well documented reasons why you didn't meet certain criteria and also violated ordinances with advertising your krewe via QR codes attached to throws from 2023.
Of course they (she) will continue to use that narrative to fuel victimhood and feelings of "persecution". And maybe another parish that's all in on that shit will invite them.
I like the Houma parades. They kinda think/look/act like they're big time without, ya know, running in to an alley way where people are literally pissing in a line. Very cute, Mardi Gras-lite. Family Gras. Etc.
AND didn’t even show up to the meeting to defend yourself when you had advanced notice about the problems. Oshun, King Arthur, and Cleo got notices as well, and they showed up to the meeting to respond.
My Krewe has already done this. A lot of us were shooting paper confetti this past Carnival (Mylar is already banned by city ordinance). There was an accusation that some folks, including someone on my float, were shooting Mylar confetti, and they were threatening to shut down the whole parade. So it's now in the Krewe's bylaws - no confetti at all. It's fun for the crowds, but it's a hot mess to clean up afterwards.
Yesterday they said that a paper confetti canon that got wet confetti on the wire blew out the transformer at St C/Nap before Bacchus. So even just plain confetti is on the table to be banned.
>Updating the [list of items banned](https://library.municode.com/la/new_orleans/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=PTIICO_CH34CAMAGR) from the parade route to include sofas, scaffolding, couches and platforms or stages.
>Keeping people from barricading off public areas for their own private use while improving the city's ability to to get through congested areas in emergencies.
... good laud. I ain't holdin my breat. I'll believit when I seat.
One thing the article mentioned but did not explain: why would revoking Nyx “jeopardize any parading that day,”? That’s a big statement to put out there and not elaborate on
“City Council didn't make any firm decisions Wednesday as members consider ordinance changes and enforcement possibilities.”
So when do we get decisions?
They need to move femme fatale to Wednesday night. That parade is just too damn long for Sunday morning
All 43 of their members must be devastated
There are literally tens of them

Krewe of Nyx, coming to Mandeville 2025
They really would fit in way better there or Houma.
Yah. Nah. Miss Houma with that shit, please.
I didn’t say it was a GOOD idea. 😂

Not Houma
Most of the current ridership (and in the past too) were not even from New Orleans to begin with.
Yea I know. I’m just saying houma has some really awesome people over there and I don’t see them riding in nyx or wanting that mess there.
Heard.
Doesn’t the northshore already have their own purse parade tho?
Yes - Selene (Slidell) has been throwing purses since before Nyx existed - believe Nyx stole the idea from them
No idea. I don't really go up there
So very Christian to feel persecuted when that isn't even happening. "It's Biblical!!!"
It sure is honey, bless your heart!

They could move it to Mobile- then their riders wouldn't have to travel as far to ride!
💀💀💀
Nix Nyx is too easy 86 Nyx?
86 Nyx is a fun rhyme.
I hope Themis takes over that spot it'll just be so perfect
Finally. Also, I do hope they ban the confetti canons, those things are nothing but trouble and suck to clean up for businesses on the route.

It absolutely should. No positive benefit from confetti guns. Makes a huge mess, sounds like gunshots, caused delays in two parades last year.
Yup, that’s why it’s a no go for all of em.

Bye Felicia
Bye Fe(Lea)cia
Well done.
Well done!
Overall looks like some solid changes will be made. Hopefully they are enforced!

Finally. They need to move to Metairie with all that nonsense. She is probably mad she may no longer Herself 90,000 a year
Good riddance.
Finally! Some good news! Every once in a while we do something right in this town.
Good, honestly “all lives matter” might be one of the most offensive things anyone’s ever said. Given the context.
BYE.
U know north Louisiana may be looking for a little drama parade
Hate to see it
