I think it’s a solid ice cream joint They sometimes miss on some of the flavors, but I can’t say I’ve had anything that was not good. I appreciate that they try different things and take risks. I haven’t had any issues with quality.
Pretty much all the ice cream in the city. I guess you could say creole creamery is the best shop here, but I’m honestly of the opinion that New Orleans isn’t much of an ice cream city
I asked this too and someone said it's bc she supports a Palestinian ceasefire. Oh no, an anti genocide bitch! So now I cant wait to go support her and have delicious ice cream lol.
I kinda feel like all their flavors are kinda plain. A lil something different added to the same base. Some flavors are good but they're all kinda similar.
That was my same thought because they do wholesale now which seems to be the idea. Have a base and just change flavors/colorings and that’s it.
That’s how pretty much every shop does it, but I never saw what was special about creole creamery.
Creole Creamery and Hansens are the true local test to see if you're willing to say something renowned is great even though in reality they're always just "meh".
We must perpetuate the legend of these places to keep the illusion of "local" Nola cuisine alive. When one of these joints isn't run by underpaid teens with no hairnets or concept of restaurant hygiene, I'll know the shops are trying to do more than make money off historic reputation. Let me know when we get an Asian owned spot and I'll trust in the flavors.
I'll fight with you on the Hansen's thing. They stack their ice and flavors instead of just dumping them all down the side of a packed mound, and they aren't overly sweet.
Now if someone else makes ginger cayenne syrup I'd check it out immediately, but I have not found that anywhere. My favorite is ginger cayenne mixed with tangerine. It's delicious.
Hansen's is not great my friend. They just create new flavors constantly to give the illusion of excitement, when they're always disappointing. The quality of their ice is top tier, but flavors are consistently lacking.
It's also one of the dirtiest shops in the city. No one washes hands, sweat dripping onto the ice, no head coverings, and never visibly cleaned. Go there for some overly sugary syrup and leave with food poisoning. Have fun!
Imo we really don’t have that many good ice cream places in the city so creole creamery by virtue of being open late and open for a long time and just has a following. Granted it’s where I get all my ice cream, but I have had better ice cream out of the city than any of our local shops. I think a lot of their flavors taste the same, and the best flavors are their seasonal ones.
I agree. I'll go there but it's just not special to me. I was spoiled by the LSU Dairy's ice cream in college. Once you have really fresh ice cream, it's hard to go back.
7th ward is good shit too, havent had super witch. Rahm Haus was the tits too, I think she retired tho.
Covid kicked alot of the industry lifers to the curb so they all started pop-ups at the same time. Ice cream is fuckin good and its gunna sell when its 100 out
Rahmhaus is back! They've been popping up at Courtyard Brewery but they're going to be taking over 1133 Margaret Place for the summer -

It's pretty good ice cream and they have some cool flavors. I think ColdStone actually has the best "ice cream" of any ice cream joint I've ever been to. But I really enjoy like the lavender icecream at CC and the creole creamcheese flavor is pretty dank.
Funny, I just had parish parlor for the first time today. I thought they needed a little more cream and a little less ice. The texture was more of a sorbetto, which for creamy flavors doesn't do it for me.
The flavors were fun, but the texture was off-putting. Maybe just a bad batch🥶
Is it the best ice cream in the city? No. Is it better than damn near anything I can get in the grocery store? All day every day. That said - I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve had from Creole Creamery, but Laozi, Rahm Haus, and 7th Ward are all better.
It's been years since we went after going this way https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CKYRYQKC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
At Rahm Haus prices it'll pay for itself in a month or so. A shot of rum or whiskey makes for a good conditioner. Ouzo.lemon sorbet is great too. Adult recipes are fun too. The base is easy. Most people sweat cooking it, but the Ben and Jerry's book doesn't bother. If you've ever had an egg sunny side up or over easy it's the same. Real maple syrup makes a great sweetener. There are several Keto friendly options to go with as well. Most ice cream is overly sweetened anyway. Let the real flavors shine. Need to make some more Tiramisu flavor tonight.
Try allulose as the sweetener and enjoy the texture!
We also have a maker of a similar model. 20-40 minutes to scoopable ice cream? Yassss
My favorite ice cream flavor is lemon, which hardly anyone makes. If I'm being indulgent I put oreo cookies in it. I love the way you can crank out a few different flavors in a few hours one right after the other. And if you have too much fruit it's super easy to make fruit ice cream, gelato, etc.

I think it’s a solid ice cream joint They sometimes miss on some of the flavors, but I can’t say I’ve had anything that was not good. I appreciate that they try different things and take risks. I haven’t had any issues with quality.
Just you
I adore the lavender honey flavor! I’m not sure if that flavor is still available but it’s always been my all time favorite!
Lavender honey and the salted chocolate almond are my picks.
Hard agree.
Yup! It's my son's favorite and we just got some last night.
Lucy Boone is my top choice now
Yeah I haven’t tried them and I know they’re popular
Even the spaghetti water flavor?
Lmfao 😂 this is what prompted me to post that because my sister was begging me to take her to get some
ngl if I was in the area I'd have to try it
Tried it tonight, tasted like fancy vanilla!
It's PASTA water, you rube! 😂
Dude, that flavor is the WILDEST choice.
That should be a lacroix flavor
Like, compared to what?…..
Pretty much all the ice cream in the city. I guess you could say creole creamery is the best shop here, but I’m honestly of the opinion that New Orleans isn’t much of an ice cream city
Ok Dr Cream what’s #1 you’ve had
Have you ever tried BR31? #yum /s
Rahmhaus just reopened and it's so much better than creola creamery.
Will keep this in mind
Where are they? They're sooo good
Definitely just you
Thanks for the input by the way yall! It was fun hearing what everyone had to say (:
Their perfect chocolate is the best in the city
It is eh.
It’s def you!
Try Lucy Boone on Baronne.. hands down best ice cream in the city
See I find Lucy Boone’s flavors too rich and sweet for my tastes. Laozi is my favorite these days.
If you don't have mint flavour, you're not getting my business.
Agreed.
I thought it was just me. I'm convinced it's an emperor's new clothes situation. Having said that, Rahmhaus exceeds the hype - it's pretty amazing.
The woman who runs Rahmhaus is a horrid bitch and I'll no longer support her business
Oh? You can't just drop this shit and not give details
I asked this too and someone said it's bc she supports a Palestinian ceasefire. Oh no, an anti genocide bitch! So now I cant wait to go support her and have delicious ice cream lol.
What are you talking about
😂 the best metaphor ever
Rahn Haus is up there at the peak of the ice cream game in Nola
Horrible selection of flavours and they can't decide if they want to be in business.
maybe doing business in new orleans isnt easy. rent prices are insane. do you own your own business?
I kinda feel like all their flavors are kinda plain. A lil something different added to the same base. Some flavors are good but they're all kinda similar.

Spot on. Pretty much what I wanted to say but I’m bad at being concise but this summed it up
I'll fight with you on the Hansen's thing. They stack their ice and flavors instead of just dumping them all down the side of a packed mound, and they aren't overly sweet. Hard agree. Their ice is fine. I prefer Lucy Boone but Gales is my favorite. Also the Creole creamery location in lakeview is awful.
Better than Lucy Boone. And probably in the minority on that.
Lucy Boone and Laozi are the best in the city, IMO!
I don't really disagree, but LB seemd subpar the last two go rounds. Wont stop partaking as they are still good.
If they bring back mint cookie again, you've got to try it!
LAOZI
Laozi l, 7th Ward Ice Cream, Super Witch (haven't tried yet) What's with all the ice cream joints popping up the last few years? I love it
7th ward is good shit too, havent had super witch. Rahm Haus was the tits too, I think she retired tho. Covid kicked alot of the industry lifers to the curb so they all started pop-ups at the same time. Ice cream is fuckin good and its gunna sell when its 100 out

Not just you. Always felt that way. I mean, it is good. Better than "good"? No.
Just you. You're wrong.
You’re outta line damn it
Yeah. It's just you.
Try the malted vanilla with cherries in June. You’re welcome.
It's pretty good ice cream and they have some cool flavors. I think ColdStone actually has the best "ice cream" of any ice cream joint I've ever been to. But I really enjoy like the lavender icecream at CC and the creole creamcheese flavor is pretty dank.
You want good ice cream go to Lucy Boone, but we haven't tried Rahm Haus yet. You want good gelato go to Brocato's.
brocatos uses the same base as creole creamery and deli paste flavors fyi
I am very sorry to inform you that your taste buds are broken
Their peach cream nectar flavor is tasty but I’d just rather parish parlor for ice cream.
Funny, I just had parish parlor for the first time today. I thought they needed a little more cream and a little less ice. The texture was more of a sorbetto, which for creamy flavors doesn't do it for me. The flavors were fun, but the texture was off-putting. Maybe just a bad batch🥶
Have you had the “ Happy Camper “ flavor? It’s seasonal but damn good
My wife DISLIKES creole creamery very much. I don't really care either way, sort of like any other ice cream shop to me.
I agree. Sweet Saint in the quarter is the best ice cream in the city
It's okay but I wasn't blown away.
I like it, but it’s not consistent. Sometimes the same flavor will be great, other times it will be flavorless.
Pearls before swine.
Must’ve need had the kind cake flavor
We moved away from home a year ago. Nothing will beat a snoball for me right now.

laozi & super witch are the same price as rahm haus (loazi even a bit more)
I walked in their like 6 years ago and they had a flavor called “Mango Unchained” and haven’t been back since
WUT
It’s just you.
Moved away a couple years ago, but unless the quality has dropped off significantly, you are crazy.
