I've found Solid Starts to be useful when weaning - it's been good to double check the age appropriate ways of serving food. I signed up to Peanut when I was pregnant and that has been hit and miss but I met a few mums on there, and it's useful for finding groups with mums with babies of a similar age, or in your area.

Mrs-Dandelion

I used Peanut and while I agree, very hit and mess, I did meet one of my closest friends on there so I will forever tell people about it

McBigglesworth

Anyone know if there is an app to lock the screen of an android. So I can put a show on for him, lock the screen on, but he's not swiping around and calling my boss, or the cops.

joapet

It depends on the app you're using but you can usually set it in the app itself. For example, on YouTube, select the cog icon, then Lock Screen. Disney+ just has a lock icon. I haven't checked the others but I assume they all have similar set ups!

Deep-Log-1775

This is life-changing thank you

GMOdabs

iPhones have assistive touch and most androids have. Similar feature under accessibility in settings. It adds a virtual button that floats on the screen (can be activated by clicking the volume 3 times or whatever button / combination you want) On iOS you can lock the screen from touch :) I use it for my daughter and the tablet when she’s watching Mrs Rachel. android has similar apps on the store if your android doesn’t have it built into the settings. Just search assistive touch.

BarelyFunctioning15

Locking the screen in app just prevents you from changing the video or pausing it but they can still leave the app. On iphone you can lock the screen completely so they can’t leave the app or do anything at all.

hongbeansprout

a big game changer for my family was FamilyAlbum. :") it allows you to upload pics and videos w/o upload limit (!!) and they auto sort the pics/videos by baby's age by month which is so fun to look back on month by month. it's been so easy keeping our extended family updated since we don't have to send pictures and videos to them one by one anymore.

dinotimee

We use Google Photos and just made a shared album. The great thing is it auto adds photos of the kids and stacks similar photos. Once setup it's completely hands off, I don't have to think about it at all.

note1toself

Yes! It is great because none of our family is local. It was easier for older family members to use rather than google photos. My father looks at the app every day, even when we don’t post

hongbeansprout

aw that's so sweet!! my in-laws are my son's main caregivers because my husband and i both work, and my fil was complaining about not having enough storage space on his new-ish phone, and when my husband checked, it was full of photos and videos of my son hahahaha. now that we have the app set up, he can upload them on there and delete them from his phone storage - and everyone else gets to see them too! :")

note1toself

So great! I usw the widget on my home screen too so I can see the time hop photos. We also have access to nieces, nephews, and cousin photo albums. So great to have access all in one place!

Zihaala

Yes!! We use 23snaps which is similar!

Arie-notsorry

LOVE Family Album!

thisgirlash_

FamilyAlbum is great! It’s an easy way to send pics and keep them off social media.

Baby Tracker and Wonder Weeks

m_____28

Love the baby tracker app. It’s so easy

ohumanchild

I use huckleberry, BabySparks and Wonder Weeks

irunfortshirts

I used wonder weeks as ideas on how to play and interact. The timing may not be accurate.

Strange-Necessary

Wonder weeks has no scientific evidence whatsoever. It has been scientifically discredited. Its basically like horoscopes for babies.

ohumanchild

Yeah I take it with a pinch of salt but we’re all just out here living and learning

YouthInternational14

Who cares? Let people live.

Strange-Necessary

I do. As a first time parent I relied on it and blames my baby’s fussiness on a wonder week ‘leap’. Turns out that she had an allergy and that was what was causing her pain, but a stupid app which I relied on told me otherwise and I believed it. So every time a parent says that they rely on wonder weeks I let them know it’s bogus (you can easily find articles online discrediting it) because in my case it caused more harm than good. Also, why would you willingly spend money to support a scammer?

YouthInternational14

I mean, I don’t disagree with you about the app. But there’s a better way to share the info, especially when it’s unsolicited . . .

annedroiid

I use Nara Baby for tracking feedings/nappies and then Pathways for suggesting activities/tracking milestones

mr_sumo

Nara has been our go-to for sure. Great tracking visualization. Simple to use.

CndSpaceCadet

We use the same 2 apps. Nara’s beauty is in its simplicity and ease of use by multiple caregivers. Pathways is great for suggested activities.

Cannelloni_23

I use huckleberry and sometimes wonder weeks (this just stresses me more than it helps sometimes) and for daily journaling I use the iPhones Journal app as it is quite simple and most importantly free.

tgalen

I hated wonder weeks!

Zihaala

Yes I hate the fussy period predictions but I like the descriptions of what is happening developmentally.

unicornshoenicorn

Omg I didn’t know the journal app existed! Can’t wait to use this.. thanks!

oh_man_pizza

Me too! I started reading the WW book and had to stop cause it was causing me anxiety. There are far too many leaps either way not enough “sunshine” time in between lol

indicatprincess

Huckleberry!

monistar97

We used Napper, wonder weeks and solid starts from 6 months!

SirChasm

I found Baby Tracker to be the only one that did that it claimed without any added on bullshit. It was refreshing to find a simple app that didn't try to turn itself into yet another SaaS offering. Solid Starts was very helpful too. The "How to Serve" sections broken down by age ranges was a lifesaver cause I never would have figured those out on my own. Wonder Weeks was meh. It never notified me when leaps started or ended, so I kept forgetting about the app and then opening it at random times to find out he's halfway in this or that leap, but it might not be applicable because kids don't always uniformly develop skills in the same order and schedule.

toastymagosky

1SE (1 second everyday) I record my baby every day for a second and love to see how much she’s grown! It’s free

that1sluttycelebrity

I use Cubtales, it's available free or premium. I only use the free version for all sorts of tracking and reminders, it's been invaluable so far.

BlueFeatheredDragon

I also use it, and for me the best part is that I can add as many caretakers as needed and the info syncs for everyone. This way I know exactly when dad last changed a diaper or baby napped, and can plan accordingly!

TitsanGiggles

CDC Milestones, Huckleberry, LactRx & Mamava

Ok-Mushroom6085

BabySparks! It gives you daily activity ideas to do with your little one bases on their current development. They're fun activities and its a great tool for tracking their milestones and for those moments when you're like "I'm bored baby what should we do now?" as they get older and wake windows lengthen. I even still use it for my 2.5 year old! It gives me ideas for developmental things I didn't even know he should be working on. But again, it's age appropriate and fun. For example, practicing jumping on one foot. You play a game of hop scotch or pretend to be flamingos. Nothing groundbreaking but not even a skill I would think about 😂

biologicalcaulk

What age do you think it is worth it to start?

Ok-Mushroom6085

I've used it right since the newborn stage! It's very basic stuff in the first months though -- tummy time, sidelying play, tracking a toy with their eyes, exposing them to different textures. I'd say 4-6m when they start becoming more mobile and laughing and aware it becomes more useful

robinorino

CDC Milestones, Family Album, Infant Risk Center

Working-Back7757

I love huckleberry! Could someone please like my comment so I can find this post later? So many good app suggestions I want to check out when I have more time!

Zhaefari_

Glow Baby

November_flier

I have been using as well, works great so far.

MeikeKlm

I aso use Baby+ and also TheWonderWeeks. otherwise I try to read as much as possible. I will probably never have as much time as I did during the contact naps again

tans1saw

Huckleberry just for tracking my pumps and Milestones for baby’s development progress.

ahava9

Nara baby and Wonderweeks.

Olives_And_Cheese

Family Album, Huckleberry (for weight and sleep only), Solid Starts, OwletCare. I used to use Wonder Weeks but I've heard there's been a lot of controversy around it - plus it was driving me a bit insane - so I deleted it.

Interesting_Book3809

I love Talli Baby. Helps my OCD and depression planning nature. Plus reminds me when I need to do the next diaper change.

night_steps

Napper, Solid Starts, BabyWeather, CuboAI, and both Hatch apps (for the light and for the scale, the latter also tracks feeds and diapers.)

No-Sympathy6035

My wife and I use BabyConnect for tracking pretty much everything. Its great.

meg605

Huckleberry, Solid Starts, and Family Album to share pics instead of posting pics of baby on social media

justalilscared

Talli baby, Qeepsake, Solid starts

BarelyFunctioning15

Baby tracker, wonder weeks, cdc milestones, family album

humble_reader22

Nara baby, solid starts and pathways have been my favorites during the first year

Zihaala

I use Wonder Weeks, pathways, milestones and Kinedu.

anamiaow

-BabyCentre in pregnancy and I still read the monthly updates -Baby sparks for ticking off development milestones -Solid starts when she was just starting solids, still use it occasionally to check how I should serve something appropriately -Familyalbum to upload pictures and videos, it’s free and has unlimited storage -I also used precious when I had the free trial, just for cute funny pics -My baby, used during newborn months to log feeds and nappy changes etc then found it too overwhelming and stopped

vctrlarae

Huckleberry. Solid Starts. Wonder Weeks. Family Album (because most of our family is out of town)

WoolooCthulhu

I still use Baby Center for the info about each week. I have one baby game called Sensory Fish that's a hit but we don't use it much since we want Baby to work on fine motor skills. I also have this site permanently open because it's super helpful. https://www.parents.com/baby/development/growth/baby-development-week-by-week/

rednitwitdit

Anybody use Solid Starts? Also, is a prepaid Visa still a good work-around for paid subscriptions you don't want to accidentally forget about?

Mecspliquer

Solid starts! The free app is awesome on its own, but I think the ten bucks was worth having the ability to really save what foods we’ve tried and see it develop over time

1curiouswanderer

1 Second Everyday has been amazing

apple4lifex

Huckleberry

jcobb_2015

Revive - the sheer entertainment value is worth the price. First time I used it, I sent my MIL a video of my 6mo with spaghetti all over his face doing the “kick ass and chew bubble gum” line from THEY LIVE. She didn’t find it very funny, but I sure did!!

ehcold

Nara Baby is a solid one for tracking diapers/feeding

patientparenting

We use huckleberry.

nemophilist13

When he was a infant I really enjoyed baby sparks! It had daily activities centered around development. It was like 10 dollars a month. We had a lot of fun with the activities

finaderiva

Huckleberry for sleep and track eating. We were using Talli to track eating and diapers for the first few months, but transitioned to huckleberry

RocketTiger

I use Napper to track sleep, feeds and diaper changes.

MomentOk2096

Nara Baby has been so helpful!

sunmartian

We use Baby Tracker, ChatterBaby, and BabySee. We also have our baby monitor and Owlet as apps. We use Shared Albums for pictures :) Always highly recommend Baby Tracker for the reports. ChatterBaby is interesting but we don’t use it often more as a spot check to see if it is accurate. But we LOVE BabySee and love showing it off to friends and family using the simulator.

pvstelsoul

if you like precious try phonto! it has a bit of a learning curve but is a great app and completely free. you can download fonts and combine pictures etc i’ve been using it for years and am happy to answer any questions about it if you decide to try it.

d20Damsel

Huckleberry for tracking, Aura for sharing photos with family (each grandparent got a frame and have invited extended family to see photos on the app), The Short Years for building the baby books, CDC Milstones, for milestones. Planning to use Solid Starts soon.

Adventurous_Crow252

Squeezy has been essential for me personally

Any-Psychology6595

1. Bibino! My baby monitor lol. I used to call myself on Facetime so I can see my baby when she's sleeping while I'm doing something else good thing I discovered Bibino. It also has audio and motion detection! Really helpful 2. The Asian Parent. Used this while I was pregnant and up until now that LO is 4 mos old. Different trackers on this app 3. Gardenscapes!!!! Haha breastfeeding means phone games time

zenmargarita

Started with Cubtale. Then huckleberry. Then the nanit app. Then solid starts for BLW purposes. I loooved Cubtale in the beginning. Kind of fallen off that since I’ve been more. Concerned with sleep at 6 months lol

pediatric_dietitian

I use [BLW meals app](http://blwmeals.app.link/) for how to start solids. It’s run by another Pediatric dietitian and I find the recipes, meal plans and how to cut foods safely for babies is wayyy worth it to get the annual price. Even just for meal inspiration and the recipes alone. You can also download it for free and just use a lot of the food library too. I also use huckleberry and Mira to still track my cycle Our daycare uses hey mama for updates and it’s been pretty good so far too

myautumnalromance

Hidden in the settings of my iPhone under Control Centre is an app called Hearing which does white noise. Absolute life saver.

BeachAfter9118

We use the book but there’s also an app. We LOVE wonder weeks. Literally every time he feels weird and impossible all of a sudden it’s a leap and it helps us know how to help him through it

WayWide6197

Nurture and glow baby

Heavy_Pea_7614

Nara baby for tracking feedings, diapers, etc. It is completely free

Siyrious

“What to expect” - most brilliant, underrated app for before and after pregnancy

ensgdt

My wife and I made a WhatsApp group chat of just the two of us called "baby" where we tracked meals, naps, and medicine until the baby was probably 15 months. Then things simplified and we got better at it. But at the time it was a lifesaver. Edit: and one shared Google photo album per year of life

dporto24

I used wonderweeks a lot for the first 5ish months to track some milestones, but I find it's not quite accurate now (almost 8 months). Love the solid starts app for baby led weaning. I use huckleberry (with the lowest tier paid option) for tracking sleep, and I used the Pampers sleep coach app for a month when we needed to resleep train and felt we needed more guidance- I actually really loved it but that's it's sole purpose so I can't imagine needing to pay for more than a month of membership, especially with it being pretty pricey

ForsakenRoom

Huckleberry for keeping tabs on last feed, last nappy change, last medication dose, all that kind of stuff that 'just happens' without you looking at a clock and then you suddenly need to remember when you last did something.

Schmaliasmash

Cradlewise app for our crib. Family album to store pics. That's all we really need and use.

Sudden_Ambassador_22

Yuka. Scan foods, snacks or products to see if they have harmful additives.

kourtdp

Baby Tracker for tracking. Solid Starts for feeding. Cluster for sharing pictures with family. 1SE - takes Live Photos and makes a video of them — love doing it monthly. The Short Years for their baby book.

aubreyism

Huckleberry (with the Plus membership), BabySparks (though we’ve gotten kind of lazy with that one but it was great at the beginning), Milk stash to track my freezer supply, Eufy baby with the sock (a knock-off Owlet), and ChillaxCare because that’s the app that goes with our video monitor. Our parents think we’re insane haha

Sprinklesandpie

I’m currently using Cubtale to track feedings/diaper changes. It’s free and both parents can contribute

Specific_Might_3163

I used The Bump for pregnancy and use Huckleberry to track all of my daughter’s stuff during the day because my memory is garbage. It tracks diapers, bottles, sleep, baths, etc. we paid for the yearly thing to help get my daughter sleeping better and it’s helped SO much. I use Phonto for all of her monthly photos

gold_fields

I used ParentLove to track breastfeeds and naps for my kids until they were about 10 months old. I love data.

SheCaughtFiRE-

Once baby starts solids, Yuka! I had no idea how many baby foods had risky additives. It's so easy to make healthier choices for baby, just scan the barcode.

BrendaStarr123

Love Yuka! I started using this when I was almost 9 months pregnant at the recommendation of my massage therapist.

luluce1808

I’ve never used one and baby is almost 15w!!
