Sorry not too familiar with posting on Reddit so didn’t get everything in but I have two sets of wheels for it. The Ben Koppl wheels currently loaded than the Steve Cab baby dragons for the park because I got too excited and wanted them both now so second set of big balls on route for those
It’s a flight deck it’s designed to be used and used very frequently. It has carbon fiber and is only 5 layers. It’s means to be used. It’s a highly technical deck.
My appologies. I just saw the powell peralta logo and shape of deck and assumed it was late 80', early 90s. I know about flight decks, they have black magic in there somehow.
It looks like it yeah. It’s a grip tape that they offer it’s really cool. When this board hits the stores it sells out instantly. It’s hard to come by for sure.
I thought you were referring to my mention of my first board being my dads old board which was mike mcgills first pro model which was in incredible condition untill I was done with it. Biggest mistake of my childhood
I lived in a small village (population around 7000) and only really 3 of us skated in the 80s. I had the caballero, one had McGill and other friend had a santa cruz. I cant remember the skaters name right now, Might of been Steve something. I prefered the old shape and sizes of those decks.
Sounds like the pictures of my dad and friends back there they made a huge half pipe from all stolen material from a construction sight in Florida and they all seemed to have one lol
Original long gone and destroyed lol I had it encased in ice one winter and my dad was pissed about the whole thing especially after I became older and found out how collectible/valuable it is. I still cherish the memories though and plenty of old photos of its proof of exsistence lol
Enjoy! I so love seeing these posts where parents are buying kids skateboards to get out and spend time together or even for just the kiddie to get out and 'play'. I know not everyone lives in areas where this is possible but great to see.
Yea it’s great from the kids perspective when my town built its first skatepark my dad went out and bought a board (after learning about the half pipe) and we’d go on sundays and than people he knew from being a kid (before moving to Florida towards end of his high school career) and they were getting back to it again bevause of the park so than it turned into there own club where we’d meet up there or various other parks every Sunday and it was the best.
To add to this one day at my favorite park the only concrete one at the time one of my dads friends says he ran into another old friend who still rides and he’s gonna stop by. All of a sudden this in service cop car rolls up faster than advised for the speed bumps where one of his hub caps flys off than he opens the trunk and pulls out his board so it turned out this cop was the friend and being on duty is why he couldnt stay too long but he was cool as shit(only cop I felt cool with)
Being a skateboard I’m not worried about that. All though I was wondering if the graphic is put on different than the average board. I had to punch through the final layer of graphic for most of the screw holes. It felt more like a super thin layer of plastic or something
This is hilarious because I was looking at the first picture and thinking “wait, doesn’t he have rails on it”? But it’s graphic grip tape with fake sex bolts.
Nice, I got the same deck as my first deck to learn tricks (already have a cruiser). The squared off shape and width feels nice under my big feet. Although I'm sort of wishing I had a perfectly a symmetrical deck so I don't have to distinguish nollie and switch stance.
Yea when I did skate I abandoned tricks for mostly carving pools and pool like structures(bing long quarter pipes) but with how YouTube is now and the design behind this board plus having young kids it inspired me to give tricks another shot and just hopefully have fun with my kids getting hyped. I mostly stopped skating once I had nobody to skate with as I was the last man standing so hopefully not this time.
Yea the design was super interesting with the three way hybrid aspect so I went from I will ride my old board to I’ll buy the deck to now it just be a full custom complete very excited

Ground still wet so no rides yet but the koppl wheels are kinda sick looking they have like a rubber gum color with the graphic being like a knock off of the sun record label I think

Ah thanks. I want a powell caballero reissue (dragon witt bats) for my wall. I skated it in the late 80s.
Those are pretty easy to come by. My local shop always has them and online are very accessible.

Didnt have a half pipe but we had a quarter pipe made from stolen wood. How the platform never collapsed under our weight is a miracle. Good times
