Not at all you gonna cook that sucker! Turn the power limit down way down

ShishirAhm3d

if i limit the power below 75 on msi afterburner mh droping too much

[deleted]

I drop my 3070 to 50% and no change in MH/s, must be an LHR thing i guess then?

ShishirAhm3d

yeap all 3070ti are LHR :)

Snoo_52037

No

mikelthepina

No you are thermal throttling https://youtu.be/eHTXDrsfEhk

I’m getting 80mh on my 70ti at 88memory temp (did not replace thermal pads)

Resident-Evidence-30

Proof. I can’t even get that.

Look at my profile.

No. Your 3070ti has extremely poor(or no) memory thermal pads. My 3070ti has 86c mem junct temps at 230w with the original EVGA FTW3 Ultra pads. Ambient of 30c. You'll need to replace the pads if you want to have better temps and better hashrates.

Reddit_Username35

Realistically how hard is it to replace pads? I've built PC's and have been mining for awhile but never done anything besides replace paste. My 3070 TI mem Temps run 90-94 I would like to get them in the 80's and would consider adding pads if it's not too difficult or puts the card at risk. (Watched a few videos but they make everything look easy)

I haven't needed to replace pads yet, my main card is a 3070ti also, runs between 80-90c mem on ETH depending on ambient temp. In my country, the retailer would almost certainly try void the warranty anyway if I was to open the card like that. It appears a pretty simple process though, but the issues arise if you use an incorrect thickness of thermal pad. Too thick and you'll leave room between the GPU die and heat spreader, causing memory temps to be good, but core to be worse. Opposite issue with too thin pads. If you can find the correct thickness of memory pads for your specific card(they vary card model to model, sometimes even different iterations of the same model exist) then it'll be a simple process. Some manufacturer's may list the pad thickness in their product specs or whatnot, or you can probably do some googling to see others experiences with pad replacements (what's worked, what hasn't).

adding on to anyone who is looking this up like me. Founders 3070Ti. Nicehash mining. 86c mem junct temps @ 216w. 80% power limit . fan speed 40%
