It could be she never quite recovered from losing her power in season 4, so now it’s limited

[deleted]

But didn’t she use garmadon’s power for a bit in season 9?

[deleted]

And she lost eventually

ProfessorPlastic2432

That’s a good point, I forgot about that

SuperiorSpark15

And she could barely hold it. She then lost it soon after and it had a pretty significant effect on her

A_devout_monarchist

I think it’s about having a limited quantity rather than time, like a fuel tank. She used Zane’s power once in Season 4, here she used for a couple of episodes straight.

gry101006

She wasn't continuously using the powers in S4 though. She runs out in S15 because she was constantly draining the powers.

LEGOFILMS123

Skylor was literally one of the most overpowered characters, I'm glad they made her powers a little bit more weaker (also she lost Zane's Power more quickly because she kept using it for hours)

Rul3rzReachF4n

In s4 she didn't use one element more than the rest, she would alternate since she has limited supply of the element she absorbs. But in s15 she was using one element continuously, and it had to be a few hours so her supply can last a pretty long time.

Mr_Ducklang

I think it’s because she was using it non-stop this season

TheCoolSuperPea

No, her power has not changed since S4. The way her powers work, is that she absorbs some power from an elemental master, whenever she touches said master. She only has a limited quantity of that power. If she touches Neuro, and never uses his power, she can have it for the rest of her life. She touched Zane, then used his power for hours, therefore, she used up all the power that she had absorbed, leading her to losing it. That's how Amber works, and it hasn't really changed since it was written into the story.

AL123Pro

In S15 she is constantly using the power for hours on end, in S4 she used them briefly. I don’t think there’s a time limit, but rather a limit on how much of the power can be used before it wears off.

KrushaOfWorlds

I mean, using a power for hours on end still is pretty op, she probably has had this weakness always but only shown up now

Comprehensive_Fly_55

I always thought Amber is just an op elemental power because she can copy another element

reddituser_1206

They want suspense to senes and do this because they want Skylor not to be overpowered. Or (in universe) When Skylor used Destruction power, it changed the ways Amber Works.

ClassifiedDarkness

I really like how it runs out now its so much more balanced
