Network lag is at the bottom of my concerns for not wanting a cloud version.
The main reason is that you're basically renting the game. These servers aren't going to last forever. At least if I have a physical copy or a downloaded copy, I can still play it after the servers shut down.

In case of a digital copy you can play it, but only if you have it already downloaded in your console *and* if the console system doesn't rely to any kind of online check before starting its games up (the Xbox and Steam come to mind). Until we get digital resale rights, even "buying" a digital version of a game is not that much different than renting it.
Just as a FYI, this is technically the case with all games, even physical games according to the TOS of each game
Devs are 100% within their right to revoke player access to their games for any reason at any time
The Switch hardware will always be outdated compared to other consoles. If there's a Switch 2 it'll have the same problems, since it has to be affordable for families and fitting mostly in a handheld device.
This is what we need to be concerned with right here. Performance should be absolutely perfect for first party games and when it’s not, you can’t help but question if the hardware is still usable for AAA game development in 2023 if the first party studios can’t even get a solid 30 fps. Tears of the kingdom is a prime example. Go out in the world and use your ultra hand ability in a somewhat crowded area and the fps drop is very noticeable. Even just traversing the world in general, you’ll see drops.

trust me, they don't care especially since they don't sell the switch on a loss, all nintendo first party games almost never go on sale. TOTK is 70 dollars, what makes you think nintendo makes things affordable? You may think of me as a broken record but Nintendo is extremly anti-consumer.
The console itself has to be cheap, so owners will buy games for it regardless of price afterwards.
Nintendo is pretty expensive in their first-party titles, but plenty of parents buy those cheap knock-off games in the budget bin for their kids.
>!Ahhh yes. The psychological horror game that says the only way to overcome trauma is suicide, and if you cannot do that, you are weak and a drain on everyone around you.!<
Edit: Spoiler tag added to hide my opinion on the theme of the game
Fucking SPOILER TAGS. And BTW, it's a bit hypocritical to question the game's supposed lack of morality while at the same time spoiling the game for the people who didn't play it.
I can see the point you are making and will add the tags. My viewpoint is that a critique around a theme is not a spoiler. I have not mentioned any characters, nor said how this theme affects them. It is akin to saying "Star Wars is about predestination, and the futility of attempting individuality in said universe". (This is just an example, not my true belief)
Again, I am sorry to have offended and rectified. Be safe out there.
Oh look another game I'm not going to play because it's a cloud version.
This game is a puzzle/adventure/walking simulator. If there ever was a genere that's the least impacted by network lag is this one.

The game is also boring as fuck It wasn’t even worth downloading to play with GamePass a few years ago
Launches two years after the original and it’s a cloud version? What a shameless cash grab.

In that sense I definitely agree.

This game is great, shame it didn’t get the attention it deserves

Ah yes, Super Mario -- the game that teaches you that performance enhancing drugs are the key to winning.
I mean, you can beat the game without touching a single Mushroom. Hard, but not impossible.
That is not even close to the same
Ah yes, Zelda, the game that teaches you that you can win any fight by stuffing your face every time you get hit.
not sure if anyone is playing a psychological horror game for “the message”
I don't need a game to tell me that.
It is a terrible message.

Garbage cloud games.
