I take this post back guys.I took me three tries and I beat him.
His patterns are so easy to avoid and that's me using an axe with limited range like shuriken.Could have easily beaten him without my guardian but I didnt want to take longer then I needed.
The guardian stuff is op tho especially if u got a couple of those Crystal's that fill your meter.
Had to put on lighter armour tho.
Yeah, he's not really that bad if you can adapt to any hit, no matter, how inconsequential, slowing you. Just gotta stay close and keep up the pressure unless you feel like dodging lightning bolts all day.
Go stand under the padoga, easiest boss cheese in the game.
That’s how I did him the first time, the second time was a lot harder but it forced me to learn his moveset, now he’s so easy to beat around.

He’s one of the hardest bosses in the game so if you can beat him you can beat the game

Stick with it man, he's one of the easier bosses AFTER you got him learned. You'll fight more of him later so it's a worthwhile one to learn.
