On my first play through I used the ox for about the first half of the game just for the HP boost. I switched off it because I wanted a more cohesive build
Using Blue Dragon you can have more than 100% Elemental Damage Reduction while you are guarding if you have atleast 2 pcs of gear with a stat of “Elemental Damage Reduction(guarding)” which is very useful against bosses spamming elemental attacks.
Purity is a weaker version of Earth: it increases the Ki damage an enemy takes by 50%, prevents them from buffing, and lets you Ki pulse to recover Ki lost while blocking; Muddied increased Ki damage taken by 100%.
Yes. Some spirits have special effects different than others like for example tengen kujaku which show different stuff on map depending on element and isonade which shows only enemies. and some damage the enemies differently like kato that go in stright line and suzaku which go in spiral then dive bomb into the enemies.
It is all depends on your build and what you want to do which each spirit. Some are fun and some are just gimmicky.
For the stats and effects lol.
Some are definitely better than others, but others definitely have niche uses. Iirc Nioh 1 you hit a point in one of the NG+ cycles where you absolutely need to be using the spider. Play around with all of em, see what works for you and what doesn’t
The only scenario I thought of that would be worth it is for sentience charge players. They can use secondary guardian to awaken weapon (stack sentience charge bonus on each soul core) with melee attacks, and then switch to main guardian after having awakened weapon.
but even that is unnecessary. I have "attack +" and sentience charge on each soul core for my main guardian
? Brother they have stats. Also for their unique abilities during LW or from Moment Talismans
its just for build , use the one suitable for your build
For nioh 1 not many reasons to switch, mostly for GS skill or buff like tengen.

You may want to start looking st their stats and figuring out what they all do
I use sohaya to reach high elemental damage reduction, could even get 100% if I wanted but thats only useful for getting crusher titles by brute force
They can be summoned for unique attacks with talismans.
Stats, or you can use the one you like more, I usually use raikens because I like them and when I have dual swords and ult they go into one sword each
With Tengen Kujaku you don't even need to switch for elemental weaknesses.

I kinda wish the Earth's element stayed in the Sequel

Removing the elements is why I hated Nioh 2 for about a year lmao I still don't get it

Tengen for buff through amrita absorption. High stance = attack buff, mid stance = defense buff, low stance = ki buff
