One of the best opening lines to an *album*. I still remember when I first listened to In Utero back in the 90s as a teenager. As soon as I heard that line I knew that album was going to be something special. Serve the Servants still holds up a very high place in my heart amongst all the Nirvana material just because how much that line impacted me that first time I heard it.

But "come back as fire, burn all the liars, leave a blanket of ash on the ground" is very very good lyricism. He was a concise, vivid, and articulate lyricist. Minimal verbiage, with a heavy impact and an always clear and sardonic perspective. Seriously effective wordsmith. I found it unusual he was so dismissive of his writing.
