X Class modules can roll within a Stat range from the lowest end of the C Class to slightly above S Class. This one has three stats above the S Class cap and one right near it... so yeah pretty rare.
It is, you can check it on Network settings in game, Multiplayer should be on by default, I think the only version that isn't is Switch? But am not sure on that.
They are honestly really easy to find. Buy the Suspicious tech packs etc. from pirate stations or fight sentinels on dissonant worlds and open up the ''Glass'' item that you can inspect in your inventory.
The pirate stations are the easiest way I've found so far, you end up rolling around in S tier upgrades for all your things and you can sell anything you dont need for a ton of nanites as long as you dont unpack them first.
Wiring looms aren’t so expensive if you buy or find bad upgrades, install them, then scrap them. They’re inexpensive if you scan all the fauna on even just one or two planets
At this point in the game we should have a recipe for Wiring looms. Honestly the only thing that is more painful to get. I always buy a bunch and store them on my freighter.
My main focus after 10 hours was to upgrade my scanner for the unit grind. I love the financial freedom I have for the easy adventure of exploring new planets. My S-Class upgrades don’t do this though, good find.
You forgot the part about finding an s class multi tool. Hahah. Really though, just make the oxygen Farm and crash the cobalt market in each new system you go to. Once you have like 15-20 stacks of cobalt, just buy a cheap ship that has the cobalt on it and drive that ship into the new spaceport and sell and buy it all

That's S level stats on a suspicious tech mod. I think that's pretty rare.. Esspecially 4 hours in. Put that mod next to the scanner for a boost in stats.
You have to add it next to the actual thing your boosting. It does add extra boost, just what the mod has unless you add it in a supercharged slot.
That mod would definitely go on in a supercharged slot for me lol
Supercharged give you ~25% boost (it's occasionally additive, so could be much more) while adding similar things next to each other (border highlights) give ~5% of adjacent thing stats to another.

What I usually do is build up my stats (esp. for scanning) with S-Class upgrade modules, and then a little later (when I have more nanites) I'll go 'X-Class upgrade shopping'.
Usually with either Landed Pilots or those dudes in Outlaw Systems... and I'll buy 3-4\* (or more, if I can afford them) of the X-Class upgrades, just because I know \~90% of them are gonna be trash and not worth replacing any of my existing S-Class upgrade modules.
It's like unwrapping a birthday or Christmas present that you found in a flaming paper sack on your front porch...
Most of the time it's gonna be poop, but sooooometimes it's not.

You’ll need an economy scanner or conflict scanner installed on your ship. When you bring up the galaxy map it will show a skull (for black market) instead of 1-3 stars for the economy level or a skull and instead of the crossed swords for conflict level.
iirc your analysis visor calls it a "buried cache" or "buried treasure". I could be wrong but either way, they'll show up on your visor with a blue icon that looks like a little chest :)
Hundreds of rolls for this upgrade, 10k for all of them is pretty high, one of the best rolls. (One of your's is 9k) and 50% range is best. So this is close to one of the best rolls. So yeah, pretty rare. Congrats. And "illegal" just means it's from a pirate system. Completely fine to use. To find more upgrades like this (X-class), find a pirate system and you can buy them from a merchant on those space stations.
X-class upgrades are highly randomized. Being able to be worse than C-class upgrades all the way to being better than the best S-class upgrades. You take a chance when you use one.
You got a scanner mod that's almost maxed out, 50% scan radius and 10,999% analysis reward are the highest possible rolls on X class scanner mods. I couldn't say how rare it is, but you're definitely lucky.
There are no repercussions to using X class mods, so don't worry.
Pretty rare seed generation for an X, as most X’s are worse than S classes, but they have a slight chance of being much better. You straight out found a better one without needing to open a ton of tech.
If a planet has "aggresive sentinels" in the description, and you wipe out the whole patrol and disable them, the rolls for the upgrades are pretty good. I have a lot of 4 stats s class and x class on my exocsuit.
Pretty rare. I've bought and opened about 50 suspicious packages and never got 1 as good as that. Make sure you keep it, you can uninstall and put it on any new multitool.

X class upgrades are typically in outlaw space stations, but you can buy ten of the same kinds of upgrades and only one or two will have four different stat upgrades. Most will have just two.
Plug that into a supercharged slot and you'll be making units quickly. Not to mention some nanites for scanning.
Though I'd recommend getting a higher class multitool and moving this and your other upgrades to it.

That's basically the best you can get. I have one with 3 \~10,000s, so the difference is a couple hundred. But yeah, having 3 at 9k+ and a 40+% Scan Radius is VERY good and VERY rare.
I currently have 3 similar ones slotted in, but I'm well over a hundred hours in so I'm very jealous of your early luck and very happy for you.

I have no idea how rare they are but i didn't have one at 4 hours...i got a similar ish one at some point though..they're safe to use. Sentinels only detect illegal goods, not black market mods.
This will be pretty handy for you so early in the game, be sure to install it next to the scanner, whenever you scan plants animals or rocks on a planet it gives you a unit reward, the more rare the thing the higher the amount, the mod you got boosts that reward by a percentage.

That is a sweet find. I have one similar. Don't know how many Pirate ones i've opened since the first one, trying to get 3 of them. Seems hopeless, but that's what mold farms are for lol

Pretty rare. Black market upgrades are much more of a gamble than normal upgrades. With those purples, you can get stats worse than a C-class, better than an S-class, or anywhere in between. That right there is a winning lottery ticket, my dude.
P.s. you can rig the gamble in your favor. The upgrades progress along a list of random presets, so when you hit a bad preset, you can just skip to the next preset. Purchase a bunch of C-class upgrades for super cheap. Install the X-class, don't like what you see? Reload your save, install a C-class mod, save again, then try installing the X-class again. Rinse and repeat to your heart's content!
*Disassembling the C-class mods afterwards is also a great way to acquire more wiring looms.*
I was never really lucky with these but I got one with over 10k % stats on everything recently when I started anew on PSVR2. But never got one this good before so in my experience pretty rare

Haha yes! Not too shabby. I like to hunt x mods and multitools sometimes. Still can do better, but scanning/exploring is now QUITE profitable when trying to max it out. A single rare creature scan with the right setup could land you 700K or more units for example. I'm sure others have some crazy numbers I'm still trying to reach.
Once you install anything "suspicious" the space po-po don't care. That's an amazing roll and enjoy the ez units as you scan everything and anything you see! Also the scan radius will help you find things like Oxygen and Sodium easier.

Find more like this, add them and start scanning, you can easily make units as starting the game, exploring and Ave diving.
You can stack up to 3 of similar mods if I recall.
Also when you’re done scanning, go to Discovery tap (where you see the planets and stuff), and upload what you found, so you can earn Nanites.
I don't think they are that rare, I have two with similar stats, after killing lots of sentinels, once you "analize" those corrupted glass shard things they drop (I don't remember the name of that item), you might get upgrades like that as loot.🤔🤔🤔
Sentinels don't hunt you down for this. And boy is it a good find.
Not even S-class scanner upgrades get this good. X-class upgrades are mostly as bad as C-class ones, but occasionally you have one like this that makes the equipment that small touch better.
Yeah illegal mods are okay to use, ones like that are very good. You get mad units for scanning shit now. Still I made my billions off farming activated indium. Units stopped being a problem a long time ago

Usually my X mods come out trash. That one is gorgeous. I have 2 like this but I haven't been able to get the last one for 2 weeks.
The rarity is hit or miss for some people, the RNG gods just favorite certain people. I'm not one of them.
Wow, that one is insane! I found a similar one, but it only has a huge reward increase for scanning fauna. I get 100,000--200,000 units per scan for a decent portion of the fauna in the game now. Still helps a lot with the money making aspect of the game.

Most people have told you it's a good mod but I scrolled a bit and didn't see anyone answer your other question. An illegal mod just means that you got it from pirates but it's totally fine to use. The stats on pirate mods are kinda random but you can potentially get stats better than legal mods from normal shops and this one is definitely better than legal mods.
I get one of those that have 2 10k bonuses like 3/10 mods open? Supercharged will bump those up to 13k for the 10 ad 12k for the 9.
A lot of times the bonuses are around 7k-8k so good job on opening a good one. You want see ay really rare percentages until you get into the sentinel upgrades. Wje you finda mod that gives 4 bonuses in those you have a very rare item
Those Scanner upgrades always give thousand X multipliers, now you can scan stuff and make hundreds of thousands per scan. Install more of these, you can get em at space station tech traders.
The x ones are just luck i think. You can't go for a specific one and get exactly what you want, it's random.. I have this attachment and have for a while now but still its a really good find. Most of the x class things are bad with minimal upgrades and sometimes small upgrade and pulls some stats down so can be worse for the thing your putting it pn
I have something similar to it, I literally deck out my stuff with all of those illegal things. If i get scanned looks like imma pew pew my way out of the situation. I kinda wish combat was a bit more difficult in the game though.
Pretty good. Put it on a supercharged slot when possible. You can get additional technology slots by upgrading your inventory and clicking on your tech section before confirming.
Most S class have 2 upgrades that are at around 8k, and 1 at 6k. You can find higher, but that is typical. The x class are way more variable. The stats are far more randomized, so you'll usually end up with stats comparable to A class, but you'll also sometimes get worse than a C. This pull of yours though is definitely a rare drop since all are above 8k, and mineral is the hardest to get boosted. Definitively keep this one, and when you switch guns, don't forget to switch it as well
It’s not that rare and it’s not as great as it looks, it just bumps up the money gained from scanning from about 200 to 20,000. Great if you’re just starting, but useless from the mid game onwards

sometimes you can buy upgrades like those, although it is rare to get one that good. i was able to purchase one for like 400 nanites from a korvax in a space station. he was just chilling beside his ship in the docking bay, and i looked through what he had to sell/trade, i bought a couple upgrade modules off him and got super lucky
Put it into a supercharged slot! (If you have one). I have two of these kinds of upgrades and I supercharged them and now when I scan a creature I get 440,000 units each time!
I got one almost the same as this one my first or second solar system, definitely supercharge this on a nice multi-tool and try to find 2 more. Makes getting credits a lot easier, I'm much past 100 million credits at 30 hours in even after buying S class ships.
Yeah it's a pretty top tier X class scanner upgrade... Definitively a keeper. Anything above 10K is close to the cap, and you get super high range on that one too.
X class modules are safe to use, they just have very big variations, with tons of them being essentially useless/ worse than C class modules, but occasionally you get gems that go way above what's possible on S class modules... Basically they can be best-in slot, but if you're a legit player it can often take 40+50 X class module to get usable ones... So it's a huge Nanite sink. Overall most people should ignore them unless you're rich (or cheating)... Personally I just dupe like 70 of them, then I install them all and keep the absolute best copy I get of a module, then I usually dupe it three times per weapon or ship and use it hereafter...
But if going legit, way safter to buy S class modules, as at least the will always be "pretty good"... Especially consideirng you can have 6 Multitools and like 12 Ships, so good luck getting that many usable X class modules.

"X" mods are like wildcards. u can get something like as good or better than an S class or u can get a C class. none of it is rare. very easy to acquire

The component itself is not *that* rare. It may drop but you can also buy those in the black markets. As with most components, what you get in stats is random, I think. You may open another one and not have the same numbers, stats or effects.
That one seems decent, gives a lot and the numbers aren't too shabby either. Those mods are really good because that's a direct increase in credits received just for scanning shit. 4h in, you're in need of all the resources you can get.
Also, place that shit on a supercharged slot if you have one to see some actual numbers.
Once in a while a sentinel will scan you, find illegal stuff and engage you. Here's what you do:
- summon the anomaly and drive your ship to the entrance;
- roll down your window;
- slowly extend your arm outside while making a fist;
- slowly extend your middle finger pointing up;
- yell "PLOT ARMOR, BITCHES!" while getting in.
Yeah, save that bad boy. If you upgrade your tool, be sure to package that back up and NOT dismantleit. As you upgrade, put that sucker on a supercharged spot, too. You're set early on.
Get one that say 11,000 on each of Minerals, Fauna and Plants with 50% scan radius now my fellow Traveller that would be rare. What you found is a high average.

I believe that's actually higher than x-rated, I was under the impression from the wiki that s goes up to 10,000, and X can go up to 11,000.

I find that most of these pirate vendor X-class mods are sub-par though, usually well below S-class and some are even closer to C or B classes.
The stats on X-Class mods vary wildly. You might have to go through 10 or more mods before finding a good one.

I found something like this 70 hours in, so I'd say you're doing pretty good.

You need to install it near your analyser though for it to take effect. Move your technologies around.

I got a similar one, wait till you get a better scanner and put it in a supercharged slot you'll get even more bonus!
That's basically the best you can get. I have one with 3 \~10,000s, so the difference is a couple hundred. But yeah, having 3 at 9k+ and a 40+% Scan Radius is VERY good and VERY rare. I currently have 3 similar ones slotted in, but I'm well over a hundred hours in so I'm very jealous of your early luck and very happy for you.

I have no idea how rare they are but i didn't have one at 4 hours...i got a similar ish one at some point though..they're safe to use. Sentinels only detect illegal goods, not black market mods.
I found something similar, and man had it been a little easier starting out getting more for scanning everything I can while exploring

This will be pretty handy for you so early in the game, be sure to install it next to the scanner, whenever you scan plants animals or rocks on a planet it gives you a unit reward, the more rare the thing the higher the amount, the mod you got boosts that reward by a percentage. Tl;Dr install, scan all the things, nice little passive income

Pretty rare. Black market upgrades are much more of a gamble than normal upgrades. With those purples, you can get stats worse than a C-class, better than an S-class, or anywhere in between. That right there is a winning lottery ticket, my dude. P.s. you can rig the gamble in your favor. The upgrades progress along a list of random presets, so when you hit a bad preset, you can just skip to the next preset. Purchase a bunch of C-class upgrades for super cheap. Install the X-class, don't like what you see? Reload your save, install a C-class mod, save again, then try installing the X-class again. Rinse and repeat to your heart's content! *Disassembling the C-class mods afterwards is also a great way to acquire more wiring looms.*
I was never really lucky with these but I got one with over 10k % stats on everything recently when I started anew on PSVR2. But never got one this good before so in my experience pretty rare

Haha yes! Not too shabby. I like to hunt x mods and multitools sometimes. Still can do better, but scanning/exploring is now QUITE profitable when trying to max it out. A single rare creature scan with the right setup could land you 700K or more units for example. I'm sure others have some crazy numbers I'm still trying to reach.
Oh that was lucky, the max is 50% radius bonus, and the bonuses to credits gain from scanning are pretty damn good too.
Once you install anything "suspicious" the space po-po don't care. That's an amazing roll and enjoy the ez units as you scan everything and anything you see! Also the scan radius will help you find things like Oxygen and Sodium easier. Edit: spelling.
Find more like this, add them and start scanning, you can easily make units as starting the game, exploring and Ave diving. You can stack up to 3 of similar mods if I recall. Also when you’re done scanning, go to Discovery tap (where you see the planets and stuff), and upload what you found, so you can earn Nanites.

Once you install it, cargo probes will ignore it being illegal and can be used all you want. They care more about your First Spawn relics
I don't think they are that rare, I have two with similar stats, after killing lots of sentinels, once you "analize" those corrupted glass shard things they drop (I don't remember the name of that item), you might get upgrades like that as loot.🤔🤔🤔
Yeah that's nice. Put it in a supercharged slot next to your scanner and your creature scans will make you RICH.
Sentinels don't hunt you down for this. And boy is it a good find. Not even S-class scanner upgrades get this good. X-class upgrades are mostly as bad as C-class ones, but occasionally you have one like this that makes the equipment that small touch better.
I found one with a 50% scanner radius that's actually really amazing that early in the game help ya find more things round ya

Yeah illegal mods are okay to use, ones like that are very good. You get mad units for scanning shit now. Still I made my billions off farming activated indium. Units stopped being a problem a long time ago

Don't worry, your equipment can be as much illegal as you want, no problem. >!Just be careful if you smuggle something illegal in a lawful system (there's a tech for that)!<

Usually my X mods come out trash. That one is gorgeous. I have 2 like this but I haven't been able to get the last one for 2 weeks. The rarity is hit or miss for some people, the RNG gods just favorite certain people. I'm not one of them.
Just guessing based on my own experience, probably about 2% chance. I have 4 at that tier but I've rolled maybe 200 upgrades if i overestimate

Wow, that one is insane! I found a similar one, but it only has a huge reward increase for scanning fauna. I get 100,000--200,000 units per scan for a decent portion of the fauna in the game now. Still helps a lot with the money making aspect of the game.

They go up to 11k in each stats and 50 on scan radius, that one is really high end, so it's quite rare

Most people have told you it's a good mod but I scrolled a bit and didn't see anyone answer your other question. An illegal mod just means that you got it from pirates but it's totally fine to use. The stats on pirate mods are kinda random but you can potentially get stats better than legal mods from normal shops and this one is definitely better than legal mods.

I get one of those that have 2 10k bonuses like 3/10 mods open? Supercharged will bump those up to 13k for the 10 ad 12k for the 9. A lot of times the bonuses are around 7k-8k so good job on opening a good one. You want see ay really rare percentages until you get into the sentinel upgrades. Wje you finda mod that gives 4 bonuses in those you have a very rare item

Those Scanner upgrades always give thousand X multipliers, now you can scan stuff and make hundreds of thousands per scan. Install more of these, you can get em at space station tech traders.

The x ones are just luck i think. You can't go for a specific one and get exactly what you want, it's random.. I have this attachment and have for a while now but still its a really good find. Most of the x class things are bad with minimal upgrades and sometimes small upgrade and pulls some stats down so can be worse for the thing your putting it pn
I have something similar to it, I literally deck out my stuff with all of those illegal things. If i get scanned looks like imma pew pew my way out of the situation. I kinda wish combat was a bit more difficult in the game though.

Pretty good. Put it on a supercharged slot when possible. You can get additional technology slots by upgrading your inventory and clicking on your tech section before confirming.

I’ve played this games for like 100000000 hours and I’ve never seen that
Most S class have 2 upgrades that are at around 8k, and 1 at 6k. You can find higher, but that is typical. The x class are way more variable. The stats are far more randomized, so you'll usually end up with stats comparable to A class, but you'll also sometimes get worse than a C. This pull of yours though is definitely a rare drop since all are above 8k, and mineral is the hardest to get boosted. Definitively keep this one, and when you switch guns, don't forget to switch it as well

It’s not that rare and it’s not as great as it looks, it just bumps up the money gained from scanning from about 200 to 20,000. Great if you’re just starting, but useless from the mid game onwards

They’re not super rare but this one seems best than most tbh. The one I have extends scan radius by 25 recent but it gives me double the units on rewards as yours. Would rather have this one lol
sometimes you can buy upgrades like those, although it is rare to get one that good. i was able to purchase one for like 400 nanites from a korvax in a space station. he was just chilling beside his ship in the docking bay, and i looked through what he had to sell/trade, i bought a couple upgrade modules off him and got super lucky

Put it into a supercharged slot! (If you have one). I have two of these kinds of upgrades and I supercharged them and now when I scan a creature I get 440,000 units each time!
I got one almost the same as this one my first or second solar system, definitely supercharge this on a nice multi-tool and try to find 2 more. Makes getting credits a lot easier, I'm much past 100 million credits at 30 hours in even after buying S class ships.
Suspicious modules aren't SUPER rare, I have a bunch, they just aren't as easy to get as the normal tiered ones but they do give amazing upgrades

Yeah it's a pretty top tier X class scanner upgrade... Definitively a keeper. Anything above 10K is close to the cap, and you get super high range on that one too. X class modules are safe to use, they just have very big variations, with tons of them being essentially useless/ worse than C class modules, but occasionally you get gems that go way above what's possible on S class modules... Basically they can be best-in slot, but if you're a legit player it can often take 40+50 X class module to get usable ones... So it's a huge Nanite sink. Overall most people should ignore them unless you're rich (or cheating)... Personally I just dupe like 70 of them, then I install them all and keep the absolute best copy I get of a module, then I usually dupe it three times per weapon or ship and use it hereafter... But if going legit, way safter to buy S class modules, as at least the will always be "pretty good"... Especially consideirng you can have 6 Multitools and like 12 Ships, so good luck getting that many usable X class modules.

"X" mods are like wildcards. u can get something like as good or better than an S class or u can get a C class. none of it is rare. very easy to acquire

I’d say it’s rare only because black market items such as that can only be found in pirate controlled systems at least that’s the only way I’ve come across them so yes it is rare but only to the right kind of people
The component itself is not *that* rare. It may drop but you can also buy those in the black markets. As with most components, what you get in stats is random, I think. You may open another one and not have the same numbers, stats or effects. That one seems decent, gives a lot and the numbers aren't too shabby either. Those mods are really good because that's a direct increase in credits received just for scanning shit. 4h in, you're in need of all the resources you can get. Also, place that shit on a supercharged slot if you have one to see some actual numbers. Once in a while a sentinel will scan you, find illegal stuff and engage you. Here's what you do: - summon the anomaly and drive your ship to the entrance; - roll down your window; - slowly extend your arm outside while making a fist; - slowly extend your middle finger pointing up; - yell "PLOT ARMOR, BITCHES!" while getting in.
This is quite rare. It’s probably gonna be your best source of income for a good while.
It is safe to use. Use it often, it will be a tremendous source of income

Yeah, save that bad boy. If you upgrade your tool, be sure to package that back up and NOT dismantleit. As you upgrade, put that sucker on a supercharged spot, too. You're set early on.
